I had the same experience as many of the other reviewers. I ordered a Panasonic Camera at an excellant price and received an "order confirmation" call the next day, which was really a sales call trying to push overpriced accessories. When I declined he said he would confirm the order and quickly hung up. Today, after three days I called to find out when the order was shipping and was told the order was on hold because the camera was on backorder for at least 3 weeks (the website shows the camera to be in stock). I was also told that an email (which I never received) was sent to me on the 12th, informing of the backorder situation. So I cancelled the order. I will call back tomorrow to ensure that the order was cancelled as I don't trust that the extremely rude customer service person.

These guys screwed me over too. Now I just put in a bunch of orders for them everyday with concocted e-mail addresses and credit card numbers. Should keep them on their toes!! Haha, my way of getting back!

BEWARE OF THESE GUYS!!! TECHONDIGITAL
I bought a Garmin nuvi 260W from them for $265 - even though it seemed kind of strange to me that I had to "call to confirm" the order. But I did it. The person who answered the phone tried to sell me an extra memory module (because, according to the person on the line: "we have been told that the 2009 map needs this memory to accept the new map file"), extended warranty (because: "these things break easily:), digital cable, etc. I refused all of his offers and said please just sent me the unit and what comes with it in the box. He said: "OK, fine!" and hung up. The following morning I got the following e-mail from TechonDIGITAL:
"Due to the product you ordered being out of stock for 6-8 weeks from today's date. We regret to inform you that the order is canceled due to the product being on backorder. when or if we get the product again in stock soon will send you an email to place an order please do not resubmit your order again. sorry again and thanks for your understanding." No overpriced accessories = no product. Buy what you want somewhere else!! I did.

BUYER BEWARE!!
Purchased a Canon A650 IS from Techon Digital on the 3rd. Recieved email to call customer service on the 4th. After calling they attempted to sell me overpriced unwanted upgrades. After I refused the C.S. rep "LUC" became very rude and told me camera was a gray market unit with no warranty!!
He also offered to sell me a "USA" model for twice the price!! I asked to cancel order, he said ok and promptly hung up. I was surprised to recieve an email stating order was cancelled, it also had a cancellation number. I will be monitoring my credit card to make sure Techon digital does not charge me.

what robz said . . . exactly. i got the exact same email cancelling my order after declining to buy additional (overpriced) items. the item is still showing as 'in stock'.
the shopbot where i found this seller gave them a 5 star rating with 4000+ favorable reviews.
i should have checked here first like i usually do.

DO these guys have a life?? Hundreds of negative reviews and they continue to get customers. Hard to fathom. Tried to order JVC GZ-MG330B. Great price of 279. I had read the reviews of these sellers but I thought I would attempt to get them to fork over the goods to someone who won't get scammed. I told them I already had one of these camcorders and was buying this as an extra for this low price so I wouldn't need battery. They obviously sensed I would have none of their typical BS so the conversation was short. Well the camera was not in stock as listed and was backordered for 2 weeks. I cancelled order. Recieved no confirm so I called today to sweet talk them into maybe another model or color. I asked about Xacti E1 or Xacti hd1000. Neither in stock. In fact they said no Hard drive 'corders are in stock. I informed him the xacti were not hard drive based. He was stupified. Long story short I got the cancellation confimed and that is the end of it. Don't bother trying to be clever with them. They are hoping the numbers yield a VERY FEW suckers. Could this be worth the effort, you fools? Get a real job. They seem perfectly happy in the role of recieving hundreds of phone calls from disgruntled customers. Are they gluttons for punishment or what. I'll get my stuff elsewhere as I expected but it was worth the try for fun since I was ready for the inevitable. If you choose to venture these waters like I did just be prepared to waste some time for sport. Kudos to this Wiss guy, who photographed all of these Brooklyn based scammers. So funny all these palookas I imagine sitting in their shabby dark offices fielding calls and eating cheesey nachos and grease burgers. Get a life boyz. The rest of the world has one.

Keep away, keep away!!!!
Wow, what a bad joke. Ordered a video camera from BroadwayPhoto first, they just sent me an out of stock email, so I then stupidly went to TechonDigital (aka TheDigitalNerds). Received an email for my order, called to "confirm" my order, they proceeded to upsell me batteries saying that the one that came with the camera only lasted 20 minutes. Hah! I just declined.
Five days later, no charge had been put on my Credit Card and no emails or phone calls regarding shipping. Called them to ask about my order, first call they hung up on me, second call they transferred me to an answering machine, third call I spoke to someone and they told me that my order would be shipped in four weeks. Actually I'll quote what he said to me twice, "Four weeks, you'll love it!". Astonished at the amount of time it would take, I told him to cancel the order. He said "Ok your order is cancelled, have a great day". Didn't think it was going to be that easy but I received a cancellation email with a cancellation code, so hopefully that's the last time I'll have to deal with these scammers. I'm going to cancel my credit card today too.
Keep away, keep away!!!!

Found this purchase very shady. I was called immediately and "pressured" to purchase additional accessories. I did! (what a mistake that was)
I doubled the price of the camera I bought by accessories that were WAY over priced.
I learned my lesson.

I had same experience as others. Should have checked them out first. When I wouldn't buy their high priced accessories, the price they quoted to me for a "US market" camera was over MSRP! Sales reps were unprofessional.

Same problem as the rest of you had. It's a bait and switch scam. Stay away from 86th Street, too. Same company, using different name and website. Same jerk with a Jersey accent working both customer service lines.
