CUSTOMER SERVICE IS HORRIBLE!
"I wish I read these reviews BEFORE ordering through them. I ordered a book on July 12 and 3 weeks later I inquired about the status of the order. They canceled my order and I sent three emails asking why it was canceled with NO response. Credit for this book is still not on my credit card. I finally called and received no help other than "sorry about that". "
"Worst customer service EVER. They do not have respect for anyone, and are not professional. They lost my book, then cancelled my order, and did not let me know. Mind you I ordered my book two weeks in advance. I have definitely learned my lesson, I will never order from here again. Every person in this company is horrible from top to bottom."
Never got my refund!
"I returned my son's college textbook in within specified time period allowed to return books. Got a quick response that they received the book on 9/19/16 and I should receive a credit on my credit card. So, when no credit had been issued by the end of September, I sent another email. There response was that they got it from a 3rd party provider and I needed to contact Alibries books for the refund. I sent an email to them, and no response! What a ripoff. I am on a fixed income and can't waste money like this- college text books are not cheap! Stay away from both of these companies! "
"Never ever buy from textbookx. I order biology book but they send me the nutrition book. I again returned their book, but they claim me that they did not get the book back even though i showed my tracking number ti them. They did not sent me my money back.After i called them for at least 10 times they only refund me my money after 2 month. I will never recommend other customer not to buy from this textbookx. They dont even give good customer service also.."
"I ordered a new textbook and it showed up completely damaged! The company blamed the mail carrier but the soft cover book was poorly packaged which would inevitably lead to damage in any sort of inclement weather. The customer service was a joke, offering a measly 10% discount for a "brand new," totally unusable book. "

"I will never again order a textbook from these guys. I wish I had seen these reviews before I did. They charged my card for the textbook and then shipped it to a completely different address, in a totally different country, to the attention of someone who is not me. I have yet to be able to get in contact with someone to discuss this. I ended up having to buy the textbook again from Amazon (had it in 5 days). Textbookx has horrible customer service and the prices are not that much lower than other sellers...especially when you end up having to buy it again because these guys do not actually send it to you.Save yourself time, frustration and money and buy your books somewhere else. "
"I am never again buying anything from Textbook X. We ordered the book more than a week ago and we still don't have a tracking number that works, and we don't have even an email address that works either!! According to their website, if you want to believe it, they shipped the book a week after we ordered it...that alone is just too long! And, in any case, the tracking number they say they shipped it under, doesn t work!! That means they have either screwed up the shipping number or they have not it shipped it yet. Either way, that is just unacceptable. Don t make the same mistake I did and get suckered in by the few cents you think you're saving by buying here...it's just not worth it. "
"Ordered a book for 79 and they canceled without notice. Ordered the book again with expedited shipping so I could get it for class. Cancelled again. I called customer service to find out what was going on. They told me that when I ordered the book for $137 the price had jumped durring my transaction to $138 so they had to cancel the second order... Okay... So I asked them to ship me a diffrent used copy which their website now had listed at 190. I also asked them to cover the cost for shipping since glitches in their website were causing me to get canceled orders. I was told they would only cover the shipping if I bought a new book for $207. Seriously? I asked to speak with a manager and was refused. I asked about price matching because the book new averages $151 online from competitors (not ebay but acctualy competitors like ecampus, barnes and nobel and Becks) They told me that since this was the only place that took student loan vouchers from my school this was my only option. I checked the rest of my books for this semester and they are charging at least $30 more for new books than any other site. My anthropology book is $256 from them but the average price is $133. Im filing official grievences with the school, my Alderman, and the City. TextbookX doesnt deserve another dime from the students at my school.Lastly... Please read the 5 star comments and notice that the same sentence structure, style and voice are being used..."
"This is a horrible place to get school books from. The price is marked up ridiculously high, they constantly send the wrong books, and they have horrible customer service and shipment tracking. Two semesters in a row I have been sent the wrong books. This semester I tried returning the wrong book and they said that it was not their fault but either my fault or my schools and that if I wanted to be refunded for shipping the book back to them then it was my school's responsibility to repay me. The customer service representative, Jackie, would not stop talking over me or even listen to me as I tried to tell them that the book that I bought had a different ISBN number. Also last semester I didn't get paid for book I sold because their tracking numbers don't always register with the post office so the customer got the book, they got paid, and I didn't. I used to buy the books form here for convenience but not anymore. "

"To ALL POTENTIAL CUSTOMERS:I beg of any of you NOT to buy from these thieves! I bought e-book that was a hard-to-find textbook (not available on eBay, Amazon, Chegg, nor any other e-store/store). There were only 2 options $50 for a printed textbook or $25 e-book. I got the e-book since my class is hybrid. When I opened the book, there were SO many problems:1. No Table of Contents2. No page Numbers3. Horrible Formatting4. No Chapter Titles- Not even numbers! (Says "chapter")5. No search or find fieldGiven those factors into consideration, I could not complete my assignment and received a 0. I asked for a refund after telling them my issues, they said I read over 20% of the book. On my account, only 4% was read. Then they said it stated "non-refundable" CLEARLY on the checkout. That's an absolute lie. It had it in small print blended in with the rest. I asked that they keep good rapport and asked for a refund, because what they are doing is unethical. They left me a belittling email. I will NEVER buy or rent from here again. KEEP your hard-earned money and pay to rent somewhere else! I lost $25 for NOTHING."
"I would not buy from this merchant again. I picked them because their description of the book was "condition - used; very good". If this book is very good, I would hate to see what acceptable looks like. Other merchants were selling books for half the price I paid with descriptions that match the book I received. This book is just for home use, so it will have to do. I just wish I had seen this website earlier so I could have picked a different merchant to buy from the beginning. The only positive was that I received the book in one business day. Ordered on Friday and had on Monday."
"Buy your books somewhere else.I purchased book 08/09/2014 02:21PM for $105, it was supposed to arrive 5 to 10 days. However they left me without the book for my first quiz and wrote a message on the 08/27/2014 telling me that they are processing a refund of $96. Why? They did not provide any reason. And if I am not satissfied, I have to write an email and wait 48 hours or fax them because they do not even provide a customer service phone number. This was my worst book online purchase experience."
"I was a seller with TextbookX.com. Their customer service is the worst. You have to search through 2 sites to find a customer service number to only have them tell you your stupid thats why your in school. They don't respond to their contact page. It states 48 hours I never received a response. They made me send the book 2 days priority from FL to CA and expected me to be happy with 5.47 in shipping for 15.10 cost. really? Then they refused to pay e properly. Because their site did not work and their staff was professional i did not want them to have my banking information to loose i demanded a check or paypal anything they refused and wanted my banking information. Long story short i am out my book, 15.10 in shipping costs and have nothing to show for it. burn your book before using this site to sell it"
"This is the single "WORST" experience I have ever had ordering anything on-line. I placed an order for my college books almost a month ago. After I placed the order I received e-mail confirmation that my books were preparing to ship. After 2 weeks the books had still not shipped then I got an e-mail that 1 was back ordered (would have been nice to know when I placed the order) and the other one they didn't have at all through the market place. I then replaced the order for the second book directly from them, paid $23.00 extra to have the book overnighted. It never came so I called over a week later and they said it ships 3-7 days after they place the order internally not after I place the order but they guaranteed me it would ship last Thursday. It didn't ship so I called yesterday and was "promised" by someone named Dawn that it was going out yesterday 1 day air and I would have the book Monday. I just called this morning to confirm the book was shipped yesterday and was told they don't even have the book!!! The customer service reps are very unapologetic and could care less. THE WORST!!!! - DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND DO NOT PLACE YOUR TEXTBOOK ORDERS ANYWHERE BUT THROUGH TEXTBOOKX. By the way...I know why it's so hard to find their phone number. It's certainly because they don't care about their customers. THe number is 1-800-887-6459!! GOOD LUCK!!"
