"Have ordered from here several times without problem. I've spoken to Customer Service a couple times, always to my satisfaction. Reps seems knowledgeable and eager to help. Items ship as they are available (rather than holding all items on a backordered item). Have deleted items from orders prior to shipment and made substitutions on unshipped orders without incident or difficulty. Overall a great experience, and I would recommend to anyone.
My only complaint on a recent order: one item came packed on its own in a larger box, with only a single air pack to pad it in the much larger box. It would have been humorous, had it not been a delicate instrument. Instrument was not damaged."
"Ordered a telescope as a BD present for father-in-law. Item was on sale and a pretty good price which is likely why it was out of stock and backordered two weeks. I went ahead and purchased, waited the two weeks, then another, then called and asked why "no telescope?" Was told by customer service that my order was mistakenly cancelled by our billing department".
Well done. Sorry pops, I know you really wanted a telescope, but I screwed up in trying to save a few dollars by purchasing from a POS online retailer rather than a reputable dealer. My bad.
Bottomline - just spend a few extra dollars and buy from your neighborhood guy or an REI or something."
"Avoid this company. Bait and switch. I order a Televue 90 degree Everbrite Diagonal and received a Suunto Foot Pod. They didn't even have the item I ordered in stock even though they told me on the phone they had two. Will NEVER order from them again."

"I bought a very large (and fragile) telescope from telescopes.com for Christmas. They confirmed the order and shipped it out the next day. Unforunately, FedEx had a mishap with it and it arrived destroyed. After calling telescopes.com, they said they would handle the insurance claim and send me a new telescope. They did and the replacement telescope arrived intact. The only negative I can think about is that I bought the last one they had in stock, and they had to backorder the replacement (but didn't tell me that). Not a big deal, but it would have been nice to know.
Overall, I like them. I would definately buy from them again and not think twice about it."

"I placed an order from TELESCOPES.COM on june 23rd 2007 for a telescope they listed in their website as "in stock". Right after I made the purchase, they sent me an e-mail showing order status as "processed". Twenty days later I was still waiting for order to be delivered. I call customer rep., they told me due to "warehouse moving" they couldn't ship the item yet. I called for second time to inform them I no longer wanted the item, so I needed a refund. They said they don't charge credit cards unless order is shipped. Well they DID charged me $999, right after I made the purchase. Well, now I'm trying to get my money back. Don't buy from this store."
