"They charged me for USPS Priority Mail and then shipped First Class. I realized this right away and I sent an email to the company. They explained that it's not their fault because the website doesn't allow them to specify First Class. I wrote them back and said that it IS their fault and that it was unacceptable. I needed that package immediately and had I known they were going to screw me on shipping, I would have chosen FedEx instead. The customer service refused to do anything about it or to refund partial shipping charges - since they LIED. I find what they did very distasteful and dishonest. I am very disappointed and I will never buy from this store again."

“Hi, I am sorry you feel what we did was distasteful and/or dishonest. I think we made an honest effort to clearly explain the situation surrounding your specific order. I do apologize that we did not reach a satisfying conclusion:

Point 1: Quantity 20 of this product makes a case weight of 13 pounds. We divided that weight by 20 to get the individual weight. We also add 0.49 lbs as a "box weight" to every order. This makes the shopping cart weight for your order 10.4 ounces plus 8 ounces for the box. This makes your order 18.4 ounces, or rounded up to 2 pounds.

Point 2: Actual shipping weight is 10 ounces. Anything we ship that is 13 ounces or under will ship via USPS First Class. Although we shipped it USPS First Class, I confirmed with the post office that First Class is the same service USPS Priority Mail.

Point 3: The difference in postage cost and what you pay from the shopping cart is considered handling. This is not refundable.

All this was explained to you in private e-mail communication.”

"Bad Merchant! VERY bad merchant! Beware!

Merchant has an address verification system which corrupted my address into a different address in a different zip code. The address constructed by their defective address verification system is unknown to me.

I did not notice the error created by their defective system until receipt of their emailed order confirmation. At this point, before they shipped my order, I immediately replied using the reply function of my email client. I advised merchant of its error. I asked merchant to correct its error.

Instead of correcting the error caused by their defective address verification system, merchant ignored my timely reply and corrective advice.

Later, when I advised merchant that I had not received the order, merchant politely told me that it had no record of my timely reply. It seems that the merchant disregards email replies to their email order confirmations.

Instead of taking responsibility for the error caused by their defective address verification system, the merchant politely suggested that I check at the unknown address created by their defective system. They politely said that I should check at the address to which I had the order sent, even when their defective address verification system had corrupted my address, creating the bogus address: all without clear notice to me.

That is, after merchant's defective address verification system created a bogus address, merchant politely took the position that I was responsible for their sending my order to the bogus address created by their defective address verification system.

Please note that several years ago I sustained traumatic brain damage. Because of this disabling injury, I cannot seek out unknwn addressees in different zip codes. This is why I purchased products via the web, rather then in a store.

If I had read reviews of this merchant before ordering from them, I would have noted that the merchant invariably blames all problems on the buyer. If I had read the reviews, I would not have purchased from this merchant whose practice is to shift all problems to the buyer.

Do not repeat my mistake!

Beware! This is a VERY bad merchant! Yes, they are polite, but VERY, VERY bad.

If your order encounters any problem--even a problem of the merchant's own creation--it seems that merchant will blame you the buyer, rather then fix the problem.

Beware! This is a VERY bad merchant."

"I ordered 5 Orange Yate Loons from Mr. Kim on 8/25. Products arrived in great condition and in a timely manner. Mr. Kim was very easy to contact via e-mail and very quick in replying to all inquiries. Order processing was a little slow compared to other vendors but was still within 48 hours of order placement. Would definitely do business with Mr. Kim again."

"UPDATE:
I was contacted by Sun Kim, Owner of TekGems. He made this error right to me and offered it to me at $10.00 shipped(still a great price). I just wanted to update the community on this seller, and I will do so again after I have physically recieved my order.

Ordered a USB to IDE adapter retail boxed item for $5.50 shipped, less then 2 hours later i recieve a cancelation email and now the items at $10. No kind of attempt to rectify the situation or offer the item for a additional charge of $4.50(which I would have taken). Just a straight 3 sentence email saying my orders canceled and I will be recieving a refund."

"Initially I had a problem when my order was cancelled. A customer service representative contacted me and resolved the issue. Shipping was fast.

Having positive experience with their customer service, I would buy from them again. "

"I ordered a USB handset online and got it on time, but the handset had problem and the voice quality was really bad. I tried to contact the store by phone and email few times to return or exchange the USB handset, but I got no replied. I forced me to contact my credit card company to cancel the transaction."

"This is my second order from TekGems and have had great service on both. Very fast shipping and communication. Two thumbs up! Update selected Priority Mail came UPS ground 9 days later:( Still recommend buying from them. All the fans worked and seem to be top notch."

"This company is TERRIBLE.
First, they charged me and never shipped my order. When I called, they said they didn't know why, but the warehouse never got the order. Finally sent it and it has been even worse since then.

They are they only company to sell the item I purchased and everytime I looked to support for the product I was routed back to TekGems.

I called and the guy told me he didn't have time to help me, now or ever and that I was out of luck.

I feel totally screwed. I buy things online all the time and have never experienced such rude, unhelpful customer support.

Just thought everyone should know.

TO be fair, since my comments, the seller has sent me a higher-end replacement - no charge. I will be sending the other product back, as it has no value to me.
While in the end they did a nice thing, the attitude I encountered when calling was very defensive.
Overall, I guess this worked out ok."

“Sir: you purchased a $6.99 pc remote that is marketed as a "do-it-yourself" product. I offered to send an alternative product by Creative Labs free of charge (for item and shipping) that is more user friendly, but you never took me up on the offer. Unfortunately, we can not offer support on a $6.99 product. It is unreasonable to want champagne service on a beer budget.”
