posted Apr-16-2005 “Hi, I am sorry you feel what we did was distasteful and/or dishonest. I think we made an honest effort to clearly explain the situation surrounding your specific order. I do apologize that we did not reach a satisfying conclusion:
Point 1: Quantity 20 of this product makes a case weight of 13 pounds. We divided that weight by 20 to get the individual weight. We also add 0.49 lbs as a "box weight" to every order. This makes the shopping cart weight for your order 10.4 ounces plus 8 ounces for the box. This makes your order 18.4 ounces, or rounded up to 2 pounds.
Point 2: Actual shipping weight is 10 ounces. Anything we ship that is 13 ounces or under will ship via USPS First Class. Although we shipped it USPS First Class, I confirmed with the post office that First Class is the same service USPS Priority Mail.
Point 3: The difference in postage cost and what you pay from the shopping cart is considered handling. This is not refundable.
All this was explained to you in private e-mail communication.”

We were not expecting many visitors during this holiday day, but even worse, someone posted this to a hot deals forum which increased the issue exponentially. I offered to send an alternative product by Creative Labs free of charge (for item and shipping) that is more user friendly, but you never took me up on the offer. Unfortunately, we can not offer support on a $6.99 product. It is unreasonable to want champagne service on a beer budget.”
"They charged me for USPS Priority Mail and then shipped First Class. I realized this right away and I sent an email to the company. They explained that it's not their fault because the website doesn't allow them to specify First Class. I wrote them back and said that it IS their fault and that it was unacceptable. I needed that package immediately and had I known they were going to screw me on shipping, I would have chosen FedEx instead. The customer service refused to do anything about it or to refund partial shipping charges - since they LIED. I find what they did very distasteful and dishonest. I am very disappointed and I will never buy from this store again."
