"Like many other people who also wrote bad reviews, my experience was the same. I saw their low-ball prices on a camera I wanted, odered it and was sent an email about an hour later asking me to call them to confirm the order! When I called they asked if I wanted to buy a better battery, because the one included only lasts 20 min.! I told them that I found this hard to believe and said no! The agent got upset. Then he asked if I wanted to buy a bigger memory card cause the one included takes only 8 photos! I now new what this email was about, so I said no again! He finally said I should get an extended warranty because this is a "gray-market" camera and comes with a Japanese warranty instead of a US one!! I told them that their website said no such thing! At this point it became evident that they didn't even want me to buy the camera, so I just cancelled and the agent replied "good idea!" Unbelieveable!! What a scam!! "
"TechonDIGITAL.com (formerly, The Digital Nerds) advertises the lowest prices, but has NO intention of honoring the order unless one also buys absurdly priced accessories. The products are considerably cheaper than ANYWHERE else but the accessories are priced two to three or more times what they sell for elsewhere. After placing the order on line, I received an email purportedly to verify my order. The person tried to schmooze me and sell me a memory card, repeatedly asking personal, non-order related questions after I told him I needed to get back to work and just wanted to confirm that my order was in stock. After he could tell that I wasn't interested and I just wanted to confirm that my order was in stock, he told me it in fact WAS out of stock and would be one to two weeks.
I immediately looked them up on the some popular tech review forums and found this long list of negative reviews claiming the same bait and switch tactics and story after story of the exact same selling practices:
Please review this page as there are dozens of people with the exact same story and much much worse- people who've ordered from them only to find that the INCREDIBLY low priced product is out of stock after you didn't buy additionally OVER-priced accessories.
Please help shut these guys down by reporting them to the Better Business Bureau! -- Cody "
"I placed an order for a GPS unit on a Friday. On Monday I had 3 phone messages waiting for me when I got home from work from Techondigital asking me to confirm my order. I already wasn't happy that I just lost 3 days on my order. I called and they tried to tell me that I needed to buy a $150 SD memory card to make the GPS work. I told them I wanted to check it out and dput my order on 'hold'. He said they dont put orders on 'hold'. So I told him to just 'cancel' my order. He hung up without another word. I called Garmin and they said no memory card is required. So I called back Techon Digitl...just for fun...pretening to buy a GPS adn they gave me the same SD card pitch. I told them Garmin says it's not required. They moved on to try to sell me a warranty package. When I told them I just wanted the GPS he said it's not available for 4-5 weeks. I hung up this time.

When I said I didn't want to purchase it, the caller became rude. I ended up cancelling my order completely. I contacted Garmin and confirmed that the callers information was false."
"Do not do business with Technon Digital. Same story. Ordered Garmin Nuvi 750. They emailed that I needed to verify the order. When I called the tried to sell me a $18 SD card for $99. When I refused they informed me that the Nuvi was on backorder for 4-5 weeks. I cancelled the order."

Since I work for the Department of Weights and Measures, this will be investigated further. "

"Ditto what the others reported. Absoulute scam with these jerks. Bait and switch called and item now not in stock when pressured into ship date they canceled the order (just as well). Noticed they have the ba**s to now list an even lower bait price as well as the in stock on their site for the same item in effort to get more pigeons. STAY AWAY FROM TECHONDIGITAL.....they're bums."
