"This company is great. The owner was staying on vacation at Shields in Negril Jamaica and he fixed my laptop. None of the other repair shops on the island could fix it without sending it back to Toshiba. It is brand new again and running great. "

"I ordered a laptop screen from these guys - spoke to Todd Gillespie specifically. He helped me figure out which exact laptop screen I needed. After it arrived and I installed it, it didn't seem to be working right (just cycled through primary colors rather than display the Windows login screen). Todd was glad to speak with me by phone to get it resolved. It turned out I just hadn't securely fastened the cable directly to the connector on the back of the screen. Did that, and it boots up great now. This is where I will buy all my screens from now on!"

"Purchasing the New and Sealed Microsoft Office Home & Student 2007 software from TechExcess has been one of my most pleasant online purchasing transaction. Throughout the whole process, customer service has been stellar as every single issue or questions I had about this product (due to my ignorance) were promptly answered. The shipment of the product was very prompt and its arrival was very fast, much faster than I had anticipated (due to experience with online purchases).
Despite the software being light and well protected in its own cover, TechExcess went beyond what is necessary and shipped the product in additional protection (2 additional layers of bubble wrapping). Needless to say, there is not one scratch on the software's propietary box (Microsoft's generic box).
All in all, I am extremely pleased with the service, the product, the shipping, and the prices of this purchase. I now have this company bookmarked for my future software purchases.

"I can't tell you how much I appreciated getting a response from Customer service on the weekend!!! On the WEEKEND! Cindy was very helpful, explained what I needed, and that she would be able to ship my item the next business day ( that's right, they were not even OPEN until Monday!). She sent me a link to the exact item i needed, explained how the item was going to work in my setup, how to even plug it in. I was very worried so I asked a bunch of questions and they were all answered. I think you should get a raise Cindy! You're the best! I got an email stating my item was shipping that Monday, and I got it on Weds! How wonderful is that with UPS ground! THANK YOU SO MUCH for the wonderful service!!!!!"

"I found a replacement oem keyboard for my HP Laptop. HP wanted more than double for the part plus labor. I chatted with a VERY knowledgeable technician on their chat and he advised me that I could perform the repair myself.

They must ship immediately because even with UPS Ground I still received my keyboard the very next day.

It was new and worked as expected and now I have a Z key again, yay!"

I required a replacement part, out of warranty and Todd replaced at no charge.
Just received the DC plug replacement! You are the best and make sure you receive a raise from the owner of your company.

"I ordered a new AC adapter for a HP ZE5270 laptop. Customer service (Todd)was outstanding and went above and beyond to ensure I had the proper adapter. I recieved the new adapter in just a couple of days and it works great. I now have an operational laptop again.

The prices were excellent. The lowest I've found so far. I will definitely do business with TechExcess again and would recommend them to anyone."

"BUYER BEWARE! I have shopped online for almost a decade now, and this is the worst experience I’ve ever had. I bought from the company because they seemed genuine and were well reviewed (although by only 15 or so people) on resellerratings.com.

I bought a power cord from them, and when it arrived, it was defective. I called them about it, and they said I should ship it back at my own expense. After talking to them, they agreed to send a pre-paid label as well as a non-defective cord. Well, they sent them, but the cord was the wrong cord. They said it was “equivalent” but not only was it a different part number, it had lower amps than the one I had ordered - in short, the wrong part. So I emailed them and they said no problem, just ship it back, smiley face. So I shipped back 1) the defective cord, and 2) the wrong cord. Only after they received them back did they tell me that they would only refund $35 of my $65 purchase. They refused to refund the rest OR ship the correct part. I filed a claim with my credit card, and I’m going to file with the Better Business Bureau as well. This company is no different than any other rip-off-scam-artist-fly-by-night discount operation. They will steal your money directly (like they did to me) or indirectly by sending a cheaper part than what you ordered. Like I said, buyer beware."

"TWO WEEKS after not receiving any confirmation or tracking number emails, I emailed them to ask the status. Four days later, they responded to say they FORGOT about my order. Although they did respond and upgrade my shipping from ground to 2-day, needless to say I will NOT be shopping from a place that promptly ignores my order. Buyer beware!"

"I have to say that the tech support by Instant Messaging with Techexcess.net was the best and fastest I have come accross. While I was on the phone with HP waiting for them to help me, the tech (Todd) from Techexcess figured out the problem (which was my incorrect hookup), we chatted and finished our conversation. And the HP support team still did not figure out the problem HEHE. So I give the Techexcess support team a big high five.
The order of my product (HP Notebook Expansion Base) was fast and well attended to. Price was also the best as compared to the internet stores or retail stores."

"Ordered a replacement LCD display for an HP DV4000 laptop. It arrived in the UK from the US within a week. It was well packaged. It has been installed and is working perfectly. Techexcess were also the cheapest supplier I could find on the net. Great service and I would definitely recommend them."

"My 1st order with techexcess and it went very well. Good communication / order tracking. And I have to say, it was fast service & shipping. I placed my order on Thurs (1/19/06) and I received it on Mon (1/23/06). I honestly believe that if the weekend did not interfere, that I would have received my order in 3 days flat!

My constructive criticism: (1) Web page interface is not the easiest / user friendly to work with; (2) inventory status needs work. I tried to order a battery for my HP zd7000 notebook. And I kept getting a vague error message "The combination of options you have selected is currently out of stock. Please make another selection.".

All in all, I would certainly order again from techexcess. They saved me a bundle on a media cable for my notebook -- not to mention a 'MB replacement work-a-round' deal that saved me over $300 (the power port on the notebook was damaged which required the MB to be replaced -- or very good solder work to fix the port. And HP wants $300 plus shipping and expenses to fix. So, techexcess sells an HP media cable -- for a VERY low price compared to HP & other resellers I must add -- which powers the notebook and charges the battery through a media port instead of the power port.).
