"Despite the bad reviews people have left, I mostly love Target. Everything I've ordered from their website has been received in a timely matter at an affordable price. They have a great selection. However, I have tried to make returns using my Target RedCard (Debit) and was refunded and immediately charged for the item that I now no longer have. That was incredibly annoying, however my positive experiences with Target do outweigh this issue. I recommend getting money back in CASH and not back to your card though. "
"On 4/19/2013 I placed an order for a Champion box kennel with Target.com. The estimated arrival late provided to me at the time of my order was 4/26-4/31. April 31st came and the item had not arrived. However, I had received an email from a freight company with a waybill number for this item. I called Target to see if I could get an update on the status of my shipment and was told they had no information whatsoever about the order, except that the delivery estimate had been changed. They stated that I would receive the order by 5/4 at the latest and instructed me to call the freight company if I wanted more detailed information. I did so and after an hour on the phone with the freight company, I was told that the shipment had been delayed, but would arrive by 5/7/2013.
May 7th came and the item was not delivered. I called the freight company once again and was told that there was another delay. They stated that the item would arrive at my local delivery agent by 5/3 and I should have the item by 5/5. I called Target because the rescheduled deliveries were getting ridiculous at this point and I had hoped they could light a fire under the freight company's proverbial a**. Instead, customer service informed me that there was "nothing [they] could do." They offered no apologies for the late shipment either. May 5th came and once again, there was no delivery. I called both the freight company and Target to express my dissatisfaction. The freight company apologized and assured me that they would expedite the shipment. Target once again told that there was "nothing [they] could do" and yet again, offered no apologies.
On 5/7, the item finally arrived in a badly damaged box with missing parts. I loaded the 150+ pound item into the back of my truck and returned it to my local Target store. They do not carry the item so I was unable to exchange it. I went home to re-order the item, but quickly discovered that Target no longer carries the item. I decided to do a little research and find a comparable item.
On 5/20, I placed an order for another kennel with Target.com. My delivery estimate was listed as 5/21-5/28. Today is 5/29 and the item has been re-scheduled for delivery at a later date just as with the previous order. I called Target to complain and once again was unapologetically told that there was "nothing [they] could do." When I asked for a supervisor, the agent's response was: "Why?" She then spent the next 5 minutes arguing with me about why a supervisor would solve nothing before finally patching me through to one. After a 10-15 minute hold, the supervisor came on the line. Although she finally offered me the simple apology that I had hoped for and not received during each previous call, it's efficacy was diminished by the fact that it was followed by excuses regarding the late deliveries and an assurance that it likely WOULD happen again. At this point, I expressed by dissatisfaction one last time, encouraged her to have someone review the plethora of negative feedback about Target.com available online, and informed her that I would not be shopping at Target.com again. "
"Target.com shipped a wrong item and then refused to issue a refund. I had to re-order the correct item, and pay an additional shipping charge to do so. They refused to refund my credit card, and would only issue me an "e-credit" - which is worthless since I will never shop on-line with Target again.
I wish I had seen these reviews before I ordered!
It is now going on 3 weeks and I still have not received the item I originally ordered, and have spent more money than I did with the original order.
This seems to be a pattern with Target.Com"

"Woe be to you if anything goes wrong with your transaction, and there is a good chance something will.
First, target ships their 'free redcard shipping' by smartpost. Smartpost is that ridiculous shipping process where ups or fed ex takes the package long haul and dumps it off at your post office for delivery, so they can steal or lose it. I have received less than half of the packages sent by smartpost, with the rest disappearing at my PO. Nobody uses this anymore, because its extremely slow, fails often, doesn't save that much money and results in poor customer satisfaction. The only other time this year someone sent me something with smartpost was Uniden sending me a $9 phone.
I ordered a tablet on 5/6, decided the free ship made it so I didn't have to go to a store to get it, and two weeks later I'm still waiting on my package. UPS said they gave it to the USPS, who shows having received it, but it had been sitting there for 4 days. After searching the PO and the mail truck for it, they told me it was lost or perhaps had been sent back to target. I contacted a postal investigator and he concluded that the package was lost and issued me a document that stated that it was lost, which I forwarded to Target.
After 6 emails and three phone calls including talking to a supervisor, Target will not issue a refund until the item is lost for almost a month. So I had to dispute the charge on my redcard. Target wouldn't budge on sending me another one or refunding my money. The item had been on sale for $100 off, but isn't any longer so I'm just SOL.
Short version: Shipped by unreliable method, package lost, zero interest in making things right with me. About 4 hours of my time spent to get nowhere with Target. Closing my redcard account and I'll never, ever shop at Target again."
"I am still a Target fan despite reading multiple woes from many people. I did an on-line price compare and contrast with Target and similar stores and found them to have a few better prices. I did the baby registry as well with them for my first born years ago but I am more of a get up and go" guy myself so instead of on-line orders I made confirmations that they had my product(s) and got up and went! It doesn't always pay off to be LAZY! LOL! I learned my lesson through others mistakes."
"Target.com is the worst online retailer I've encountered. They take my money, didn't shipped the product after a month an a half, and now I can't get the products i ordered or the money back. Since I ordered with Paypal, I can only get Target gift card in return, and that takes 2 weeks to process. Buyers be aware.."
"I placed an order on 2/7/2013, it was damaged in shipping, but it never made it to me. UPS returned it to Target when it got damaged. They notified Target what they were doing, however Target never notified me until several weeks later. Then when they did notify me they only gave me a partial refund and said the other items not refunded would have to be returned to a store... I NEVER RECEIVED ANYTHING. This is going on a month now and no resolution yet. Their customer support sound like they are in India and don't speak English very well and have no idea what they are doing. I will never order from Target online again."
"I ordered e-gift card on 2/25 online and the e-gift card should have arrived via email within 4-5 hours. Today, 2/27, I got an email stating there is a delay on order and when I called Target, they said, their system had error for many e-gift card order. Their solution was $5 Target gift card which is not acceptable since today is my niece's birthday and she is upset and mad that her gift card didn't arrive on time for her to shop and pick what she wanted for the birthday. Target broke little girl's heart. I cancelled the order and placed Kohl's order. Kohl's very nice and helpful."
"I recently purchased three items from Target's online store. Although the weather was dry and sunny on the day the loveseat was delivered, and the box was completely dry, when I opened the box to assemble the furniture, the back was soaking wet. I called Target and was promised a $25 discount, if I decided to keep it. When I called back to receive the discount, I was told I could either get a 10% refund or a $25 gift certificate. In addition, the doors on the cabinet I bought for my bathroom don't hang evenly. I was told to send it back - but having paid $60 for a handyman to install it, then pay to return it and pay another handyman to install a new cabinet was out of the question. I was offered a $10 gift certificate.
I was delighted at the ease with which I placed my order and expected so much more from a company, such as this. I don't plan to order from them in the future, nor do I recommend them. da The back of the loveseat I purchased was soaking wet."
"Been a loyal Target customer for years, absolutely love the store. On January 6th, 2013, I ordered 8 items on their web site for the first time. Didn't have time to go to a store and didn't need them immediately. The original estimated delivery date was by January 18th. I received multiple emails pushing the delivery date back again and again. Finally, on the 17th I receives emails that 7 of my items were shipped. On the 19th an email came that said the final item was shipped, this one actually had tracking information. The final item, that was shipped after the others, arrived on the 21st. I contacted customer service on the 23rd to get the status of the other items, since they did not have tracking information. They just said that I would not be delivered by the 30th and I won't able to track the shipments at every step. They kept repeating that when I would tell them that there was NO tracking at all, so I couldn't see any step. They were either not trying to comprehend what I was say or just the dumbest people. Waited until the 31st, no shipments. Contacted them again asked where my shipments were and to please send me a tracking number. In response they canceled everything, no one asked them to. I do not believe for one moment that the other 7 items were ever shipped, which they should have noticed on the 23rd when I mentioned that an item shipped after the others had arrived already. I even told them that if it was a mistake, ok stuff happens, just admit it and fix it. Their customer service made a bad experience excruciatingly painful. Whomever trains their customer service people needs to be fired."
"My wife and I shop here religiously. Always clean and great staff to boot. I can't believe they have negative reviews. We love Target with a passion, we do most of our shopping with them. Not just the local stores but Target.com too. We are always happy with the service and the discount we get with our Redcard through them."
"Let me start by saying that I have been a target customer for many years without complaint before trying the website. On December 25, I noticed that the Neiman Marcus collection went on sale for 50% off, and as the actual stores were closed, I shopped online. I placed two orders, one for the luggage, with which I had no problem. My second order was for gifts for a friend of mine in virginia (a tote and scarf), and a scarf for myself. The order qualified for a promotional $10 giftcard offer. The webside allowed me to select different shipping addresses for my friend's items and for mine, however I wanted the giftcard sent to me and the website would not let me make that selection. I then had to get on the phone and speak to a representative. After a long phone call with her, she placed the order for me and assured me that the gift card was being sent to me with my scarf, while the other two items were being sent to my friend in virginia. Later that day I received a confirmation email, that showed the gift card was being sent to my friend instead. I had to call customer service again. The service rep this time told me at first that it was impossible to have one order sent to two addresses (what? the website gives the option! and I was assured it was being done!), then he said nothing could be done because the order was already processed, and told me to call back in 3 days to have the gift card sent to my friend inactivated (nice!) and have another sent to me. I thought that was ridiculous, and asked to be transferred to a supervisor. This was followed by a very long hold, at the end of which I was simply disconnected. I called back, had to repeat the entire story to another rep (no notes of any kind about my first call in your system), and her brilliant suggestion was to call my friend and ask for the giftcard back (really?). She then also defaulted to the idea of inactivating the gift card, when asked to be connected to a supervisor again, there was a long hold, at the end of which same rep got back on the line to tell me there were not any supervisors on duty that day. In the end there was a gift card sent to me. I don't know if one was sent to my friend or not, and whether or not it was inactivated... I may hear from her in the future I suppose, and then will share the with her the story of that nightmare of shopping at target.com. But wait, there is more. I had previously bought several items from the same Neiman collection at the target store when it first came out, at full price. I called customer service when they went on sale 50% off, to see if the price could be adjusted. The rep told me that since the items were bought at the store and not online, I only had 14 days for an adjustment. He said if I had bought them online I would have had 30 days. Now, these same items went on sale for 70% off. I called again today, to get the adjustment for my order from December 25, which as described above I was able, with great difficulty, to purchase online. The rep today told me, that those items could not be adjusted because they were bought after December 19. It seems Target's customer service policy can be summed up with "Just say No". Every time I've called, I got nothing but long hold times, misinformation, and ultimately always, "sorry there is nothing I can do." I have persevered because I have always thought Target was a great company, based on the service I've gotten for years at the stores. However, the online shopping experience has been hell, and I will certainly not make that mistake again. Incidentally, around the same time, right before and after Christmas I have also been shopping on Amazon.com. I have no problem or glitch to report, and their prices and selection are better too. So long target.com... I'll spend my money elsewhere."

"What a joke Target online ordering is. If I would have seen this site before I ordered I wouldn't have done it. I ordered a toy for my son's birthday and paid express shipping to get it here for his birthday. It not only did not show up on his birthday but took 8 days to arrive. I called on the promised arrival date and all they could tell me is that it is the holidays and things take longer. It is not the holidays it is January 4th the holidays are over and it is a new year.I told him I paid express shipping to have it here for his birthday and now it is 5:30 at night on said promised date and it is still not here. He told me to wait until 7:00 because it could still show up. It did not show up for 5 more days. I told him I wanted a refund for the express shipping and he told me to wait till it showed up. What a joke. I will never shop at Target again, I ordered a toy for Christmas at Walmart ship to store and pick up and had no problems at all. I guess Walmart is the answer."
"I purchased an item (camera) from Target using PayPal, and received a completely different item (Xbox headset). They refuse to issue a refund and will only issue a gift card. I have no desire to purchase anything from Target after this. I was only able to resolve this by disputing the charge at PayPal. I recommend that procedure if you receive this treatment from Target.com."
