"WARNING! STAY AWAY! These people are bait and switchers. They are also pushy, insulting and rude. After placing my order online, I received a phone call from the shady people at TvsDepot.com. The guy used scare tactics trying to cohears me into buying an extended warranty for 399.00. (the warranty actually sells for 299.00 on their site). He said that if I did not buy it, the plasma TV that I ordered would be shipped UPS. I pointed out that on the site it says ALL orders are shipped Via Professional carriers and truckers. But despite that fact they said my plasma TV would be shipped UPS if I did not purchase a warranty for 399.00 Then he went on to say that my shipment would not be insured. I pointed out that on my email receipt it clearly states insurance IS included in the shipping price. He also said that the menus on the TV would be in Taiwanese (not English). If I wanted English menus I had to pay 399.00 for the warranty. He also said that the TV on my order had NO warranty even though it states on the site that the TV has a 1 year manufactures’ warranty. I asked to speak with the guy’s boss and was given his supervisor who treated me exactly the same way and repeated all of the above lies and scare tactics stated above. I told him that they need to treat their customers with respect and he said that he doesn’t care how customers are treated because he makes 1000.000 a day and that’s all that counts. At that point I said I wanted to cancel my order. He then said I would be charged a 15% restocking fee. But the order was just placed like 35 minutes prior to all this. I asked to speak to his boss and was told the boss wasn’t in and won’t be in for 2 days. After more ill-treatment, bullying tactics and outright crap from these jerks I finally got the order cancelled. "

"do not order from them. they tried to trick me into upgrading to a US model camera??? you have to call in to verify the order... wtf!
and when i told them i want to cancel the order they said i'll be charged with a restocking fee...when the order haven't even shipped yet??? wtf! nothing on the websit for the product stated that it's a european model that doesn't come with a non-rechargable battery. i even looked back a the description and it did say it comes with a rechargable battery. this is shady company...do not order or you will be sorry. i ended up cancelling the order..if they charge me restocking fee for an item that hasn't been shipped, i can call my CC company and dispute the charge. worst online experience ever!"

"Like many others who have ordered from tvsdepot.com, I was lied to about shipping costs. I purchased a pair of speakers for $803.98 with "free shipping". The following day they called me to tell me that due to the weight, they would have to charge me an additional $59 for shipping which I agreed to. 2 days later they called me and said the speakers must come straight from the manufacturer which will cost an additional $50 and again I agreed. I then called my credit card to see just how much had been charged. Turns out they charged me $200 total for shipping!!!! I did not agree to this so I tried to stop the order but was not successful. I was so angry!! I finally got the speakers and one of them was slightly damaged. I will NEVER do business with them again! They are a fraudulent company! Please stay away from them, order from a more trusted site even if it costs more, you'll still save money. Tvsdepot WILL RIP YOU OFF!!!!!"

"On Monday, November 7, 2005 I placed a telephone order for a Panasonic TH-50PHD8UK 50" HDTV Plasma and was assured by “Aaron” at TVsDepot that the item was in stock and would be shipped immediately and then received by me a little over a week later. I queried him about the availability because some other retailers I had contacted said they had none available in stock. Based on Aaron’s assurances, I placed the order. I received a confirming email that that contained a web link to check order status. Once I clicked on that link, it showed the order’s status as being “Order Verified.” On Tuesday, having not received any shipping tracking information, I tried to call “Jacob2” who was listed in the email as being the customer service rep. Despite repeated calls and voice messages I left for Jacob, he never called me back and I was unable to talk with him. In frustration, on Wednesday I called the general customer service line and after considerable waiting finally talked with someone. He told me that contrary to what Aaron had assured me on Monday that the item had unexpectedly been backordered, but it would in the next day, Thursday, and would immediately ship to me. Interestingly, I checked the website and saw no indication that the item was not in stock. Thursday, seeing no change in my order’s status and still having received no shipping tracking information, I tried Jacob again. No luck. I called the general customer service line and spoke with yet another rep. He told me that the item was on back order and is not anticipated to be in until the end of the month. In response, I told him to simply cancel my order. He readily agreed to do so and assured me I would receive a confirming email. No such email however has been received by me. My order status on the web site still says “Order Verified” whatever that means! I have now emailed customer service seeking confirmation of the cancellation of my order. No reply. Fortunately, I did receive an e-mail a day later confirming cancellation of my order. I ordered the tv from another supplier who delivered in less than a week without any problems for $50 move in overall cost. TVsDepot has some significant issues to address if they intend to succeed as a legitimate Internet retailer. I caution anyone against dealing with them."

"Disaterous experience. Ordered 512 MB memory cards for cameras we bought for gifts ~ 3 weeks before our oversea trip. Shipped 256 MB cards. When I followed procedures and sent back the items for exchange, the replacement never showed up. I called 3 times in the week before our departure, and was promised replacement repeatedly, but I repeatedly did not receive any tracking information (ie, not sent). When I called 3 days before our trip on a Friday, they gave all sorts of excuses not to ship the items, and conveniently said to refund the money only. So, they wasted our time to order from other stores and we had to purchase these items right before our trip. They were rude, impatient, untrustworthy, and irresponsible. Never do business with them again."

"I did some research before placing an order with tvsdepot.com. The reviews suggested that it may be another "Brooklyn bait and switch" company. The price for my SONY camera was way the best on the internet. I figured I'd try- worst comes to worse, I'd cancel the order. I did get a call from the store offering accessories and it took a firm 'no' from me and the call was over within 30 secs. I thought "well, we'll see". To my surprise I received the camera the very next day! I live in CT but boy, that was fast. The camera was as expected, brand-new with all accessories.
I usually don't write reviews but I realy felt compelled to share my good experience. Those guys may be trying to straighten up their act."

"I placed this order online and paid for expidited shipping (2-4 business days). This was for a camera and a FREE promotional gift of a case, tripod, etc...included with the order. I called on September 26 after receiving an email on September 25 requesting I call to confirm the order. After being put on hold for at least 15 minutes, I finally talked with a very abrupt sales representative who put me on hold again and then disconnected me. I called back, talked to him again and he said that my order would be shipped right out. I called on October 8, almost 2 weeks later, to find out where my purchase was. I was put on hold many times totalling at least 15 minutes again. I was then told that I hadn't received it because of the Jewish holiday on October 4 and 5. When I questioned this since my account was charged for the purchase of over $350 on October 3, which would have been before the holiday, I was then told it may have been backordered. At this point, she apologized and assured me it would be shipped right out and I should receive it within a few days. She also said she would credit my account for the shipping difference since I did not receive the item in 2-4 business days. I finally did receive it on October 11, 16 days after placing the order, but the case and tripod were not included. Also, my account was not credited for the shipping. I called again, this time being put on hold for 45 minutes. When I finally spoke to a service representative, I explained the situation and asked again to be reimbursed for the shipping cost difference. He was short and insisted that I actually did receive the camera in the allotted 2-4 business days since it wasn't shipped until Monday October 8. When I asked him about the case and tripod he said it was mailed separately and I should receive it soon. He then told me he would give me a $15 gift certificate for my next purchase with them. I then asked to speak to his manager. I was put on hold again for another 20 minutes. When he finally answered my call, I explained the stuation. He also insisted that they delivered the camera within the allotted time since it was backordered. I reminded him that I was never notified by email or phone that the item was on backorder. At this point, he offered to waive the $10 shipping fee for the case and tripod, which in their add was listed as a FREE gift. He then told me he would have it shipped right out. Later that day, I received an email with a link to this site stating that: "After evaluating your account I understand that you have not yet received your free promotional item. This result is due to not receiving authorization from you as our consumer regarding the shipping and handling charge for the free item for $9.99. What I can do for you at this point is waive the shipping charges if you are willing to post our company a review".
This whole purchase was obviously quite a hassle, I didn't receive the camera in time for my husband's birthday and I still haven't received the promised FREE promotional items. This company seems to be lacking in integrity as well as common curtesy. I will NOT shop with foto connection in the future and will reccomend to my friends and family that they do not either.

"Had to cancel the order because they would not honor internet price. Victor told me that I was stupid to buy from anyone but them and I would be calling him back insdie of 20 minutes because even though his price was higher than the listed price it was a great price. I called the sales manager and she would honor the price but wanted to charge shipping and the internet ad said and still says free shipping. Very shady. I would not buy from these folks."

"STAY AWAY. Consumers should pay close attention to the negative feedback on this site, and particularly that contained on the Better Business Bureau site. I CAN'T EMPHASIZE ENOUGH that everything that is written is true, and then some. I was able to cancel my order before being bullied into accepting a $99 "shipping insurance" fee that I knew was bogus, and an overpriced service contract.

What makes me really angry is that so many people are not only misled, but apparently willing to accept the experience, saying that they are reasonably satisfied. This, despite high pressure tactics and hidden charges NOT on your order confirmation that can result in $100s of dollars of extra cost, and in many cases, major inconvenience.

These sellers (there are many more affiliates than listed) should be brought to their knees and made either to abide by the terms written on their websites, or CHANGE THEM. Apparently they think they are too clever to earn their bucks honestly. Deceptive and pressure practices can only be ended by consumers who take the trouble to stand up for themselves."
