"Ordered an Intel Core 2 Duo T8300 CPU for my HP laptop. Description was "Intel Core 2 Duo Mobile T8300 2.4GHz 3MB L2 Cache 800MHz Socket P SLAPA SLAYQ Mobile OEM Processor" and it was WAY cheaper than anywhere else. I was weary of that but it was brand new bulk. Product was exactly as described and was shipped fast.

04-28-2013 - Placed order on-line Sunday night.
05-01-2013 - CPU was delivered via USPS Priority Mail.

One thing that was kinda freaky was that the USPS tracking number that was provided was showing (on the Star Micro web site) "delivered" from the start and it had some old dates. If I go back and check now, it all looks normal. The USPS web site was always showing it normally."

"I ordered a ram stick for my laptop on a Friday afternoon. In that I attached a note telling them the application and that if there were any known conflicts to please advise. I'd buy something else. Somebody from Starmicro picked up the phone and called me right away. He told me that I'd made the right choice and that they would ship it out right away. They did too. It arrived on Monday and was installed in the machine right away. No problem. I would certainly purchase from them again."

"Placed an order with them on Apr 7, was charged on the 8th. Ordered some different RAM, an old P4 Processor, and 500GB SATA HDD. It has been 3 weeks now it still has not shipped. First they told me it was a shipping address error, then they told me they did not have a particular part in stock, and now they told me they would refund the part that wasn't in stock and would ship the rest the next day. Yea sure they are. 3 weeks later same "Pending" status on my order.
If you can avoid these guys, do it. Sure their prices maybe incredibly cheap, but the service is terrible. This is the first time this had happened to me, Had ordered them from before and they were quick about it. Now I don't know what the deal is."

"Horrible seller, wasted my time and money. Sent me the wrong parts (drives) 4 times in a row even after i requested they check before shipping. That was after the first 2 wrong drives. Had to call Pay Pal to get my money back after i returned the parts- they wouldn't refund me

"I received a different revision from the CPU that I specifically desired and ordered. I sent Starmicro an email inquiry about this along with two entries to their blog feedback page. It has been over six weeks now and I have not received any feedback from them. It looks like Starmicro knew that they were doing this since they dropped off the full part number from the sales receipt entering it as “TMDTL60HAX5…” and not the “TMDTL60HAX5DC” that I ordered.

It is not good form providing the wrong part but compounding and issue by not respond to customer input is even worse. Starmicro should remove the “Your feedback will help us improve our performance” note from their receipts since it does not appear to really be a true statement.

Their prices and shipping speed might be good but that does not matter if you don’t get what you wanted. I am going to be generous and give them an extra star for the low prices."

"I ordered a cpu and some ram on the 16th, I paid by credit card, today is the 24th and my status still says "pending"

they sure we not pending when they took my money right away.

"i ordered a cpu and payped with credit card and they took the money instantly and then sent me an email saying they want 25$ more for shipment and in the same email they asked me for my card details and paypal. i then canceled my order and they sent me an email saying that it will go 4-7 business days before the money is back on my account. i never received any money from them so in my eyes they are just trying to cheat people. dont ever do business with them.

and here is the respons on your comment:

according to you your company will make a refund in 4-7 days but according to the emails i got from you it clearly says that it will take you 4-7 days to decide to make the refund because in your company's eyes a "refund" means that your company will "process" it in 4-7 business days and then 2-5 days for the bank. further more you are saying that you are a big company and that is why it takes that long. well Blizzard and Microsoft are alot bigger than your company and they use 2-3 business days. "

As you told us how it is possible for us to refund a transaction on 4th which you did on 5th August. I received your order on 5Th August I cannot make a refund on 4th August.
And 4th and 5th are Saturday and Sunday on this date my office was closed. On Monday 6th august we have seen your transaction and we mailed you for $25 to ship it international. And on 7th August you asked us to cancel the order and we said we will make a refund in 4-7 business days. as we said we made a refund in just 4 business days i.e, on 13th August. Up to here we can handle then it’s in your bank hands.

As you said to send a simple letter we’re charging you $25. Letter means it should be a document it shouldn’t be a part or an electronic item.
So we cannot make it as a letter we have to send it as a box. And it is a processor and its pins are very sensitive little pressure makes pins bent, so we have to pack it very carefully and for international packing we have to pack it good. you might ask us Why we need to pack good ? just because in United States the shipping carriers handles carefully no problem in USA. But when it arrives in your country the shipping carrier is your local carrier he may ship it very good or in a worst way by putting lot of weight on it, we don’t know what happens there, to avoid damage there we should take all precautions.
your item costs $45 in my store but outside it costs lot more which is an OEM CPU never used before. So we’re selling for low price and we have to ship it free to your country by baring $25?
And I told you exactly this line “ refund will be made in 4-7 business days”, it is a company and we have to organize things in order to complete them in time. So the refund should be processed step by step to match accounts and everything, that is why I told that refund will be made in 4-7 business days.
Then after it is in your credit card company hands. We don’t or we can’t predict how many days they will take because it is an international transaction.

We won’t take money from anyone and we won’t cheat as you mentioned earlier in this message.
