"Please don't waste your money or time ordering from these guys! They charged my card, sent a conformation email that they had received and then shipped my order. Three weeks later I called Customer service to get a tracking # and check status and was told me that they (The vender} had shipped. Two days later I get a email of cancellation from Sportsman. I got absolutely no satisfaction from rude Customer service and finally ask for a refund to our card. They didn't and I disputed with my card and then got a email from SG stating they took my card in good faith and they were sending me to collections. WTF, after they cancelled my order and said vender (Carhartt) no longer had my size. I called Carhartt and ordered them directly from them. What a sham. Needless to say Visa refunded the dispute immediately and from what I can gather, chastised them for charging before shipping. SG will charge your card and will use your money at your expense. Please spare yourself the trouble and order from cabela's or Bass Pro! "
"If you are thinking of ordering from sportsman guide save your time and money. The last three orders I put in were back order and would not be available in the future. They don't carry anything they have forsale. Costomer service was very rude and blunt. Order from cabelas it might cost more but they always have the item you need- NO BACK ORDERS"
"I purchased a Muller 8-32x44 scope from them. Three days later I called asking why I wasn't sent a tracking number. They said it would be shipped 21 days later, because it was coming from Muller Optics. What The Hell!! I call Muller Optics and they checked their records and Sportsmans Guide hasn't even sent them my order. I call SG back and they then tell me they didn't send it to them because my phone number wasn't on their records. You just sent me a confirmation email with my cell and home phone number on it. Stop lying to me a send the damn order. They said they would that day. They lied again. The next day Donna at Muller Optics emailed me and said she would have shipped this morning if they had sent the order yesterday. Now I have to wait over the weekend and they will ship Monday. The people at Muller go out of their way for you. They are great. The people at Sportsmans guide are a lAZY BUNCH OF LYING _ss holes. THEY WILL NEVER SEE ANOTHER PENNY OF MY MONEY!!!"
"These are the worst guys to buy from. They back order my product for one year and then sent me a letter waiting for a response to keep my order. I responded every month same day even when the letter didn't come. They canceled it at 5am on the very day I sent the email and claimed they didn't receive it. It was in my email. They are a rip off. NO GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE!"

"Ordered a product, was backordered. No big deal an extra 3 months. THEN it was backordered another 3 months. ok fine. But I moved after the 6th month and they gave no notice of shipment or anything so the package wasn't delivered to me. Guess I was supposed to check a $40 order on there site every day for 6 months rather them ask me to confirm on the item.NEVER dealing with them again."
"Used a coupon that was advertised on the front page without limits. I used it for two orders, a week apart. System accepted it.But alas, "Customer Support" emails me telling me that you can't use the coupon code for more than one order. We're talking about 9 bucks, and they want to screw me over that.Well, I'm voting with my money and my voice, and I'm complaining everywhere. Never again."
"This place is CRAP! You will not believe the line i got. They are saying it could be a year. They they say they might not even get it then. When I asked the obvious question the answer came back - ready... This ammo might sell somewhere else for more money so that could impact my delivery. Are you SH*&^%$ me? Maybe this should be a bid engine not an order engine. Never again with these posers. Probably a front for some government funded research firm."
"You're Damn Right I'm going to write a negative review !After ordering two boxes of ammunition, the order mysteriously dissapears, and is never delivered to my door. FedEx knows nothing about it, and Sportsmans' Guide Customer Service, whom of which are just a bundle full of JOY to deal with.. Can you sense the sarcasm .... Tells me that they will investigate on their end... and I might hear back from them within 3 - 4 weeks. During this time, they refer me back to fedex... Again, I'm getting the run around with these idiots, and I'm Out $150. Whatever happened to customer service ? Pathetic ! I will NEVER buy anything from them, and I will tell everyone in my community to NEVER buy from them. HOrrible experience ! Losers !"
"I have placed three orders with Sportsmansguide, over the past year, and I am not too thrilled with them. I am still waiting for the last order despite their assurances of "7 day shipping." Apparently that is 7 days from when they decide to ship! Not from when you place the order. I have had to call and ask if they actually intend to ship my order or not? My last two orders consisted of many items which I had to return or have replacement parts shipped for. In fact, I was VERY hesitant to place this last order because of that. I will not be renewing my membership. The only good news is that they are very good about replacing bad merchandise. They have even sent me a shipping label for a cot, which failed after almost 8 months. Of course, it was the first time I actually used the cot and it was supposed to be rated for 1,000 pounds. It had nowhere near that on it when it failed. If you are going to place an order with them, I strongly recomend that you do not "join the club." The "non-member" pricing is not that much more and membership costs increase the total price of merchandise far beyond comptetive market value for the average consumer. Only if you are going to be ordering a high volume of merchandise is it useful. Bottom line, Pro's; Lots of merchandise, readily take returns on bad stuff and they pay the shipping. Cons; Lots of bad stuff, VERY slow shipping, excessive membership costs. They just leave me with a feeling of "being suckered." "
"Usually I have been very happy with Sportsman Guide. However over a year ago we purchased a Castlecreek walk-in greenhouse.A storm caused some damage to the fittings and I have tried to track down the parts to replace it. I have not been able to locate an office or manufacture for Castlecreek outdoor products. I recently learned that Castlecreek is a trademark product of The Sportsman Guide. The Sportsman Guide customer has been no help. All we want is to purchase some replacement couplings to get continuous use of the greenhouse."
"Okay. I'm not sure what other people are ordering to get such bad ratings but I've been ordering from SPG for years without complaint. FA accessories, camping gear, sporting gear, a tool or two, ammo, storage items, and other odd things that might have struck my fancy. Do they sometimes get back-ordered? Sure. But EVERY SINGLE back-ordered item that I have ordered has ended up shipping to me at the price it was ordered. In a time like today where ammo prices have gone insane (and 4 years ago when we went through this the first time) I knowingly ordered ammo that would be back-ordered and it came...at the price I ordered, WELL under the insane market prices. I'll take a short wait for 1/3 the insanly inflated market price (223 anyone?) any day. Given my long history with SPG I've also had to deal with a few returns, including a dueling target that was shot to hell as it did not meet advertised ratings (manufacturers's not SPG's). Never once had an issue with a return. These guys are a flexible as coscto and that has to impact the bottom line. I'll keep shopping with SPG as long as they keep offering low prices, don't gouge like others do during insane times (thank you!) and have customer service like they do. I think I'll go order something right now. Just need to go find some coupons!"
"Have been a customer for a couple of years now. Always been pleased with products and their service. Whenever there was a delay in shipping ammo they kept me informed and offered the option to cancel the back ordered portion. Money was promptly refunded"
"Ordered ammo which showed in stock when I ordered. Now they say it is back ordered for a year. I sent an email to cancel the order and also the 1-year membership which I subscribed because of this order. They already charged for the membership, even after I requested to cancel. No response for my cancellation request. Typical bait and switch business. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THEM"
"Ordered ammo on their website and had to buy into the Buyer's Club just to get competitive pricing. On further review I found many instances where the Buyer's Club pricing was not as competitive as say Midway USA on almost everything, and Midway doesn't sell you on a program in order to get better pricing. In addition, when I found something I wanted on SG's website it was never in my size. Since my ammo was backordered I called and cancel everything, including the Buyer's Club. "
