"After reading so many negative reveiws of Sony Style, I thought I would throw in my two cents. I read all the reveiws but despite the mostly negative tone, their price on the DVD player that I was going to buy was significantly lower and they had free shipping, so I went ahead and ordered. I was extremely pleased with their service. I ordered on the evening of May 10 and received my order on the morning of May 12 (this was ground shipping with FEDEX). I expected to wait at least a week. It is true, that you must sign for the package, they will not leave it at your door, for example. They will try 3 times to deliver and then send the order back to Sony. This is printed right on the box. One reveiwer felt that this was a negative thing. I am home all day so has no trouble receiving my order. Also it does take 8 weeks to get a refund as is clearly explained on the web site. This is another beef someone had. Anyway, they treated me well and were very fast. I had a very positive experience with them."
"I bought a Sony digital camera from Sony website. I paid the highest retail expecting good service. The purchase came with a $55 rebate, after sending in the rebate forms, I never heard from them. I contacted them 3 months after the purchase. First they gave me a lot of non working phone numbers, then, when I finally reached someone, I was told to wait as it could take several months. Now I am told the rebate offer is closed. If you want to pay the highest price for a Sony product and don't expect any service, that's where to go. I will never shop at sonystyle.com again."
"Ordered on the 19th. Arrived on the 31st. Easy purchase. The item was on sale so the price was somewhat decent, much better then their normal prices that are outragous, but then again it IS Sony, so it is to be expect. My only gripe is that it took to long to ship."
"This is about the lowest-rated seller I have seen on Resellerratings...hard to fathom, but apparently true. They sent me somebody else's order and it took a couple of months to get my account straightened out...it was a large sum, too. It took phone call after phone call after phone call. None of the representatives or supervisors seem to care. I never even thought to check out Sony's ratings before I ordered. "

"I have had nothing but problems with Sony Style and am sick of their customer service. I have several friends that ordered ps3's and they had issues and they made the return process very difficult.
I had an issue as well and I came across something online. It is for anyone who purchased from Sony Style, either laptops, cd's or dvd players mp3 players or PS3. I am now able to recieve back substantial refund because of certain laws that Sony Violated and others can Join without any cost, fees or other inconvenience but only for the next few days. Please reply top me via email at dreambuildersintl at g mail dot com . I can send you over the info you will need to take action in the next few days, the sooner the better."

"I ordered a sportsband for my Sony NWZ-A728B MP3 player. A salesperson called me a couple of days later and left a message on my phone indicating that the product I had ordered was no longer being carried and they recommended another sportsband even though the website did not indicate the sportsband was compatible with my product. I even called their salespeople to tell them that it didn't appear that the sportsband was compatible and the salesperson told me that according to the dimensions of my item and the sportsband I was ordering it would probably fit. Like an idiot I went ahead and ordered the alternative sportsband which indeed did not fit. I've RMA'd the product but noticed that the legalese indicated that I would be responsible for any shipping costs. I think they should absorb those costs since their salespeople lied in order to get me to order an item which was incompatible rather than accepting a lost sale because for whatever reason they had decided not to stock the proper sportsband for my player."
"I bought a Sony DVD burner DRU 510A with a $30 rebate. Sony rebate company goes under the names of: Parago/rebateshq/.sonyrebates.com
I sent the rebate request with all the documents in late Dec.03. Mid Jan they came back and wanted the UPC. I have scand a copied the UPC and the receipt on same page. I sent them the orignal UPC the same day.
Mid Feb. they came back and said we need UPC. Sent them a copy of receipt and UPC on same page again. Waited 3 weeks, no word. I call and was able to make out the words from the poor english speaking woman that she had approved me and I would receive my rebate in 8 to 10 weeks from end of Feb.
Sony, rebate or Parago ? Never again, none of them."
"NEVER, NEVER, NEVER EVER place an order with Sony Style.com. If you do, you will SORELY REGRET it. Here is my story:
Our cheap old PC was on the fritz, so my wife & I decided to purchase a high end model this time, from a reputable company. And who better than Sony, right? WRONG. We placed a $2500 order in late November, expecting to have it well in time for Christmas. WRONG. Although the computer appeared in stock on Sony's site, it came up "out of stock" after we ordered. It took multiple phone calls to their customer service dep't to resolve the issue, and each time we got a different story. Sony is completely inflexible about orders and refuses to change anything once an order's placed (so when they told me the monitor was out of stock, I couldn't just change this to another model--although the next time I called it wasn't the monitor but another part. I finally figured out they were just way behind on orders and stalling.)
Anyway, this was bad enough, but we finally-- after threatening to cancel the order if it didn't come by Christmas--got the PC on 12/23. Happy celebration for about half an hour, because after setting the computer up, IT DIDN'T WORK. The computer continually crashed, and finally wouldn't even turn on. I called Sony's technical support line and they were amazed themselves at their own incompetance. They had me take the PC apart for about half an hour, removing and plugging in memory chips etc. Nothing fixed it, and I also noticed as I took the computer apart that one of the screws was missing from the back. So either they sent me a refurbished model or one poorly put together. Finally they offered to have someone come and fix it. I accepted at first, but after thinking about it, and hearing they couldn't send anyone for 6 days, I decided to send the thing back.
Now, guess who had to pay for return shipping? If you think Sony covers their own errors or feels apologetic about sending defective merchandise after making people wait a month to get it, think again. I had to put out about $100 for shipping, and spent hours on the phone with them, doing set up, take apart, repacking everything and carrying these massive boxes for return shipping. To top all this off, they took about 8 weeks to refund my account, so I was out $2500 in the red for all that time, which isn't pleasant either.
In sum, in my experience with Sony, I lost $100 and hours of my life to aggravation and bad feelings. Sony Style showed no apologetic attitude for their defective merchandise and turtle slow movement, and even continue to send me spam. As if I would ever buy anything from these creeps again.
If you are a masochist who enjoys being abused, then by all means go ahead and place your order with Sony Style. You'll love the experience like needles and rubbing alcohol. If not, avoid them like plague. "
"When others warn about bad customer service, please believe it. A three-thousand dollar television worked for three, yes three, hours. You'd think SonyStyle would like to make that right. Right? Wrong. Over a month now, and despite numerous phone calls, emails, promises, "sorry, sirs," and stonewalling, still no resolution. Very expensive dust magnet sitting in my living room. Whatever you do, don't give away your old set. Keep it as a backup, if not you'll never hear the end of it from your family (who told you so)!"
