"I received the sunglasses in a reasonable amount of time and the product arrived in excellent condition. However, a couple days later, I received an invoice from FedEx for "Duties and Taxes" for my international shipment. I was not expecting to pay another twenty-eight bucks for these sunglasses. So much for "free shipping"!!

There is information about duties and taxes for International shipments on their website. However, the wording implies that deliveries within the US are not International because it compares the amount of time needed for International shipments to shipments within the United States.

Here is what their website says about shipping:
"We gladly ship to international and APO/FPO addresses on all brands and models purchased through www.smartbuyglasses.com. International deliveries usually require the same amount of time as deliveries within United States. All International Shipments will be sent with duties and taxes to be paid by the recipient. Duties will be assessed by the importing country based on current laws governing imports."

In all my years of shopping online both for work and personal items, this is the first time I've been slammed with shipping related charges after the sale. I didn't see any disclosure that I was initiating an "International" order. Buyer beware!!"

" I was after Maui Jim sunglasses and I found my perfect pair to cut out the glare of the sun when it's just too dazzling. Ordering on-line was easy and the glasses arrived in perfect condition. Altogether a dazzling service for anti-dazzle sunglasses"

"I have been ordering contact lenses with Smartbuyglasses for over two years, because they were able to ship to China.

In the beginning everything was OK except for the shipping time, which averaged around 14 - 20 days. Lately the waiting times increased, the system for tracking order status is completely nonfunctional - it sends notifications about "order on the way" 9 days after the lenses have been received, and sometimes simply nothing happens until I start sending e-mail inquiring why nothing is happening.

The staff is clueless, instead of solving the problem they reply by regurgitating marketing slogans about how big, great and fast their are, and that I shouldn't worry because no other company would handle the order properly either.

Finally, after shipping the package, they update me with a UPS tracking number which doesn't work and they "have to research why" - only to send no update 10 days later and I having to find out they shipped the package with USPS instead.

Last order, however, was the last drop. After 12 days of nothing happening I sent an email inquiring what is happening with the order, getting an answer that their internal payment system had some problem so they decided to do nothing - didn't process the order, didn't send an update e-mail, didn't return the payment - just chilled out and hoped the problem would solve itself, or the stupid customer would find out eventually and start solving the situation himself. After admitting their fault they stopped replying their emails, again, not returning the money or delivering the goods, forcing a PayPal dispute.

NEVER USE THIS E-SHOP, you would hardly ever come across a worse experience"

"I placed an order for new prescription glasses on May 3rd, I receive a notice that my frames are 'backordered' on May 8th. After not hearing any status in a while I inquire about my order on May 22nd, they respond on May 24th that my frames have been 'discontinued'. They offer me to reselect for a different frame suggesting their "Fast Shipping' section which are items in-stock readily available. I select a new frame on May 26th that is listed as "fast shipping, same day dispatch", I just received a notice today (May 29th) stating that my new selection is 'backordered'!!!! This company is a joke, I've been waiting almost 4 weeks and no glasses yet. I requested an update with exact date I should expect my new glasses, if they do not respond accordingly I will be asking for a refund."

"I ordered a pair of prescription glasses In January, and I still have not received them after 4 1/2 months!!!!! When I ordered them online all of the information required was given they claimed to have the product in stock and i paid in full. Only to get an email 3 weeks later that the item was not in stock!!! How could you not have notified me sooner?! After I constantly have to email to inquire about my order I still have not received a date as to when I can be expecting anything, all I get is the same comment of we can give you 5% off or you can wait for your item. BUYERS BEWARE If you need your item before next Christmas don't bother ordering from them their customer service is ridiculous and they are not accommodating at all.

"I received my order in about a week. The coach sunglasses I ordered seem to be the real deal... At less than half what I would have paid ordering them from coach I am satisfied and would order again. Customer service response is a bit slow but I always received a response within 48 hours. There is no phone number so you have to communicate via email...which I don't like. "

"Delivery took a while roughly 3 and a half weeks but it was well worth the wait! I ordered prescription sunglasses and they even gave me a extra set of lens!! A back up pair?? How awesome is that?!?! Would highly recommend this company. Yes this company is in China...but so what isn't almost everything we own or purchase in the US from China??"
