"I ordered a cuisnart grinder. It was shipped to the wrong address. I called customer service and they argued with me about the address. I was then told that they would email me, after they contacted UPS. They did not. I had to change the shipping address. Then I got the package it was almost a paper sack (beat to hell). Part of that would have been UPS but there was absolutely no packing material in the box. Just the factory box in a much larger box. Suprise, Suprise, it was broken. They, theretically are refunding my purchase but this was the worst online order experience I ever had. I will NEVER order from them again. If you do, GOOD LUCK. More trouble than any savings you might get. Mine came in many more pieces than intended."
"My complaint is the amount of time it takes to get an item. You aren't told until you get the confirmation email when to expect the item. They also ship alot of things by UPS or FedEx - only to have the tracking number show delivery to the local post office. Then the post office delivers the item the next day. If you want something from them, you have to plan way ahead if you want it on time. I believe Overstock is a much better option. "
"What did you do to the "old" SmartBargains which I loved? It appears that this new version was taken over by World of Watches. The inventory and selection is extremely poor, the pricing is out of line and most items state, "only one left". The sheets and bedding department have been completely removed. I no longer enjoy shopping or browsing at Smart Bargains and I certainly do not wish to pay another $9.95 for another year's membership. Extremely disappointed with this horrible new version of SmartBargains!
"UPDATE: My Rating is now: "VERY SATISFIED!" My original rating was: "Very Dissatisfied
A few days after posting my original review below, I received an e-mail from a SmartBargins Corporate Escalations Manager. I now have been refunded my money for my sheet set that shrunk! Wow; I'm a happy camper now. This has changed my mind about SmartBargins and I now highly recommend them! ---------------------------------------------- - - - Original Review - - - Bought this sheet set from them "Prestige Collection 400 thread count 100% cotton sateen sheet set" and did not use them for several months. After we had used and washed them just 3 times the fitted bottom sheet shrunk so much that it will no longer fit the mattress. Contacted them by e-mail and they refused to refund or exchange the sheet set because I had washed them and it was past 30 days. In all fairness it was past their 30 day return policy but we never opened and used the sheet set until several months after we had received them. I also guess they sell sheet sets and don’t expect you to wash them because then they will refuse to take them back! I will never buy from them again due to the defective and/or poor quality sheet set they sold us. I feel like we were taken by SmartBargains and advise all to shop elsewhere! We do many on-line purchases and SmartBargains is the only store that is on our permanent “Do Not Buy From” list! SmartBargains is a "Buyer Beware" kind of store in my opinion."

"Very disappointed and will no longer use Smartbargains, which was my favorite online site for deals. The customer service is beyond lacking, it's nonexistent. I received my package and the boots were not as described on the website and I called the customer service regarding the same. My package did not include a return shipping label and I asked the customer service representative and asked for a complimentary return shipping label. The customer service representative explained that she didn't have the authority, which bemused me since issuing the same is a remedial function, nonetheless, the customer representative provided that she would call me back regarding the decision of a manager. That conversation was held three days ago and no return call. And of note, I have the customer service representative my mobile number for contact. So I'll end how I began, I won't continue to purchase from my once favorite online retailer. In a day and age when online retailers are omnipresent, Smartbargains would do well to remember that customer service or lack thereof always makes the difference. "
"Ordered item on 5/18 for gift to be sent out of state. Found out that product may not be available in time, so requested customer service cancell order via e-mail and phone within two hours. Was sent e-mail the following day saying that the product was no longer available so order was cancelled. After order a like product from another company, found out that SmartBargain shipped original order two days later and never notified me."

"I have had nothing but favorable experience in the past with Smart Bargains, but the changes in my account weren't clear and sounded suspicious. It required two phone calls (as the first person I spoke with was as uninformed as I was) to find out that my account had not been compromised and that the company had been sold."
"They call themselves SmartBargains, but I have to report that I've found no form of intelligent life. Today I spent another two hours on the phone trying to track down an order that started on December 19. This is call number 6. The order was a Christmas gift for a dear friend of mine. We even antied up for the expedited shipping. SB sent an order confirmation with UPS tracking number. UPS had it scanned for delivery here in Manhattan on 12/23. That was the point at which the minnow was lost.
Since then we've been calling UPS, who has indicated that they had to speak with the shipper. We spoke with SB who said they had to speak with UPS and they would get back to us. They never did. On one occasion I came up with the radical thought that the SB customer service manager I was speaking should conference on UPS... 'can't do that'. 'why?', 'policy' Arrrgghhh
Fast forward 20 days later. I called the CEO's office and got an assistant on the phone who assured me that she was calling the head of customer service and I could expect a call back in a half hour. One hour later, no callback. I called the head of customer service who hadn't heard anything about my case. I called the assistant who was all kinds of flustered and said she was on the line with the customer service head drone. One hour later I get a call back from the customer service head and she offers to ship a new item, and sort out the shipping later. Lame. I've waited 20 days already. 'OK - I'll overnight it'. They just don't get how pissed I am.
The CEO assistant assured us that the CEO was returning in a half hour and she would inform him. I let her know that I thought her organization has a serious problem. She asked would I like him to call me. I said if he's interested in having a constructive dialog with an educated consumer about the horrible experience I've had, I'd be willing. But I didn't want to be brushed off any longer. No call.
"Buyers Beware!!! I wish I had read the reviews before buying from them. I ordered 4 bracelets to give at Christmas, but was very disappointed when they came- extremely cheap and tin looking- more like Dollar Store products. I returned them right after Christmas. They kept one and returned the other 3 saying they were not their products!!! When I emailed them about it, they said they were theirs, but now I was past the 30 day return date!! You've got to be kidding! And on top of that, the web site they sent me for discussing the situation with the manager doesn't work. This company is completely unscrupulous. Stay away from it and shop at the Dollar Store! "
