My experience in dealing with this merchant is the same as the other reviewers--Bad. I ordered a camera today. I received a confirmation number. About three hours later i received a message that the item is out of stock. Of course the camera is still being advertised, at a substantially higher price.

I am so thankful that I read these reviews before making a purchase. After visiting their website, it seemed so much like the company I ordered my D40x from a few years ago. Maybe it's the same people with a different name. They too gave me the run around about the batteries and charger. They talked me into a kit that included filters, tripod & camera bag. It was cheap stuff. There was a lot of haggling back and forth before they replaced the defective or missing items. thanks for taking the time to write the reviews. You saved me a lot of trouble!

UPDATE: 10-27-09
I just wanted to add that after refusing the shipment (no clue what was really sent to me and at this point don't care), sending several e-mails, I did receive a full refund within 7 days but I truly believe this is because I took all the necessary actions (dispute with CC company & complaint through BBB) to get them to do this with no further hassle.

Okay - ditto ditto ditto to all prior reviews, heard it all from these scammers.
unfortunely, read all this after the fact & indeed have become a victim.
In hind sight all the red flags were there from the beginning with price and then the phone call - lord help me! how did I fall for all that -another kick in the butt.
Tried 3 calls within 1hr. of placing order to cancel the order, heard all the crap that others have mentioned, politely got off on both phone calls after 30-45minutes each, giving them the impression all was good and I would wait to get the package.
Well, I refused the shipment today as I intended to do all along.
I've also already filed a dispute with cc company

Personally, I do not want to speak to them again and have sent an e-mail stating I will accept the charges for the shipping insurance (74.95) but that is it (no restocking fee) and if no refund on my cc withing 7 days I will continue with the cc dispute & they can deal with the cc company.

Not even sure what I might have received (used, grey market ???), might have been the real mccoy(usa) but if so then I figure I was overcharged by some 400 dollars after much ado to get a copy as to what my order details were after THE phone call. After comparing prices of what I supposedly ordered, this is were I figure if all real it comes to approx. $400.

Oh, by the way - Not only was there no follow-up e-mail, I then went to check my order on their website (no more than an hr. after THE phone call)under "my account", guess what? and still showing this today "You have not yet made any purchases." - still kicking myself in the butt -
So, anyways I will not speak to them again & if no refund in a week, they can deal with the cc company.

Can anyone follow-up with how their refunds went - did you get them, how long, what exactly was charged etc..

Watch out! Ordered a Camcorder on-line. They sent me an e-mail for me to call them and confirm my order. After several attempts I got through to whoever. After assuring me product was new they asked me if I want a battery for the camera and said they had several from about $80 to $129. I thought he was joking! When I told him I never heard of a camcorder not being sold without a battery he started accusing me of being a reseller and giving me some Mafia type pressure for me to buy a battery. After confirming with the Canon website that it is supposed to come with a battery. I called and canceled the order. I feel like canceling my credit card I used to make the purchase, don't buy from these guys. They are under investigation from the authorities. Don't Buy!!!!!

On Sept 8 I ordered a Canon EOS digital camera body from SkyPointDigital. On Sept 9 I reveived an e-mail asking me to call the store to confirm the order. I called twice that day and was put on hold for several minutes both times and I hung up each time. I e-mailed them explaining that I HAD called and asked them to just confirm the order and ship as ordered. Sept 14 I received an e-mail stating that the order had been canceled because they had over sold. Guess what - it is still listed on sale. What was their plans for me if I had stayed on the line????? They can't be trusted.

I'd like to suggest that no one orders anything from this site. I simply did a google for 'digital rebel t1i lowest price' and they are the first ones that come up with a price of 579.00. I called to make sure the item was in stock and then ordered it from their website. I was emailed an order number and was also told in the email to call them and confirm the order. The sales guy tried to sell me a battery pack that you can get for 15 dollars most places, for 150 dollars. He told me the battery that came with the camera only lasts 15 minutes and was a 'starter battery', and that i should buy the 150 dollar 2 hour battery pack from them. I told them i didn't need it. Got an email today stating my ordered was canceled because they were oversold on the item. I didn't fall for this for even a split second after reading the email. They are very deceiving and try to squeeze a lot of money out of you for items that actually cost a fraction of the price anywhere else.

Like all of the reviews that I read on this website I have fallen victim to Sky Point Digital's bait and switch tactics. I placed an order with Sky Point Digital for a Canon Rebel XSi with an 18-55mm lens kit for $539. I received the phone call the next day to confirm the order and I received the same salesman speech telling me that what I ordered did not include a battery or charger or any interfacing cables but that I could get all of that with a special package for ONLY $899. I thought that what I had seen on Amazon included everything and it was still under $650 so my gut was telling that something was not right. I got the salesman's name and direct extension (Mike, extension 7014)and I told him that I wanted him to email me an itemized list of the products that he was trying to sell me so I could research the items first. He told me that he'd have it to me within the hour...that was exactly a week ago and I still have not seen it. They did, however, ship me the merchandise and they have charged $899 to my credit card. Before calling Sky Point Digital this morning, I called my credit card company and told them the story. I told them that I wanted to return all of the merchandise to Sky Point Digital and I wanted Sky Point Digital to issue me a full credit. I was nervous though because the shipping slip says that if I return the merchandise, there is a MINIMUM 10% restocking fee and the refund would exclude all shipping fees. The credit card company said that they could file a dispute, but they have to abide by the company's return policy and would not be able to prevent him from charging me the restocking fee. So I called Mike at Sky Point Digital and told him that I felt like I had been scammed. Mike quickly transferred me over to customer service. Kevin at customer service gave me the run down on why what I got was a good deal. I told him that I was looking at Amazon at that exact moment at the exact same merchandise for $629. Believe it or not, he actually got onto to Amazon's webpage while I was on the phone and confirmed that he saw what I saw! He told me that I could return the merchandise but he would have to charge me $180 for shipping fees and restocking!!! That does me no good, it's a waste of my time! So for now, I'm filing a dispute with my credit card company to pay only the amount that originally agreed to and not for the full $899.

All of the above comments are right on the nose. They lied through there teeth to get me to buy extras. I told them I was refusing the UPS package and they want to charge a 10% restocking fee for a 1400.00 dollar sale. I never will have possession of the order and they would do this??!!! I learned the hard way.

TOTAL SCAM! I ordered the Cannon 430ex II yesterday and last night I got a call from a guy named Peter, confirming my order. Ok, no problem, order confirmed. THEN he started telling me that there was a much better flash Sakar 952 that was MUCH better than the 430ex II. He was very pushy and I believed him... So I upgraded. BIG MISTAKE! After we hung up I researched the 952 and #1 found out that I paid like double for it! and #2 it didn't have very good reviews. SO... I called back like 20 minutes later and was told there was nothing they could do, that I would have to call back in the morning. I told them all I wanted to do was change my order back to the original order. Still refused to help me. Told me that I could take care of it with "Customer Service" and that it would be NO problem. A BIG FAT LIE! I have spent most of the morning just trying to reach customer servis and when I finally did, they sent me to voicemails THREE times! OMG I was furious! He told me my order had already been shipped and there was nothing he could do. After being VERY aggressive with him he offered to send me rechargable batteries and a charger! I said NO, I want my order changed back to my original order. Then he talked to his supervisor and came back and said he would give me a $40 credit! I said NO, I just want my original order. THEN he says well how about I upgrade you to an EVEN BETTER FLASH...OMG! Are you kidding me. What that told me was that my order obvisouly had NOT been shipped. I said if you can upgrade me then you can change my order back to the 430exII! After 30 minutes of this BS... he finally agreed!

DO NOT BUY FROM THESE SCAMMERS!
Found a Sony HD Camcorder HDR-XR100 for $449.00 (Retails for $749 at sony.com), sounds too good to be true? it is:

Decided to go ahead (my mistake) and went with an "Action Package" which included:
A 5 hour battery, 3 piece filter kit, Deluxe Digital case, Lens Care and Maintenance Package, LCD Screen Protectors, Full size Video Tripod, Memory Stick Reader and a Sony 1GB Memory Stick Pro Duo. Total price for the package was $719.00

Received a phone call the next morning, a very rude and pushy "salesman" telling me my package did not include a battery charger. The guy was rushing me to make a decision, I told him I thought the camera came with a charger and a standard 2 hour battery. I told him to cancel the package and I would order only the camera. He said that I needed then to order a battery and a charger because the camera came with no battery or charger.
He kept rushing me to buy a battery for $149 plus a charger for $179. I told him he was rushing me, that I needed some time to research the prices for those items and I would call him back in a few minutes, he hung out.
I went online, back to their website, checked the prices for batteries and chargers (not Sony brand). Went to sony store online, confirmed the camcorder included a 2 hour battery and a charger. Called SkypointDigital, got the same rude "salesman" I started asking questions and he did not even let me talk, he kept asking if I wanted this or that, kept talking over my questions, would not listen or let me talk. I got very very upset, told him to shut off while I was talking and finally told him to cancel my order, he said he was cancelling my order.

I was still very upset, called their number again and reached "Customer Service". I explained them how I had just cancelled an order worth close to a thousand dollars because I had been harassed by their rude "salesman X" (I do not remember his name). The Customer Service told me "X" was their best salesman and that he might sound rude because "he is from New York and that's the way they talk up there"

Ended up buying the same Sony HDR-XR100 camcorder at www.bhphotovideo.com for $569 with the Sony Battery and Charger included for this price.

These are the worst ever in all categories. They suck you in with low prices on basic product and then the high pressure upsell begins at prices you have no idea if they are fair or not.

Then if you don't go with the upsells they tell you it's out of stock and cancel the order.

I was fooled by the low price and placed an order for a camcorder at SkyPointDigital.com. As you have to call to give a "voice confirmation" of your order, a very aggressive sales person tries to upgrade your order with overpriced accessories that are mandatory for the device to function (battery packs, charger, memory cards etc.).
Of course, as I denied all additional offer, I was notified that the base item was outsold and my order was canceled.

This is a pure bait and switch website as I found out later on this excellent blog: http://tinyurl.com/kubz66

BUYERS BEWARE!!!
My wife was totally lied to while trying to purchase a birthday present. She wanted to purchase a Nikon D5000 with a lens. She was told she had to buy a battery, charger, & lens separately (Not True) and up sold her to a "Package," by stating she would save over $500.00 vs purchased separately. The total ($1599.00) is over double what other sites sold just the “camera retail kit” sold for, which includes lens, battery, and charger. When she called back (the same day) to cancel the order, they told her customer service was closed (phone and UPS records show it was picked up 1 and a half hours after she called) but that she could return it “no problem”. When she called the next day, she had to “AGREE” to a 22% restocking fee… that’s right 22%! Then they sprang a doozy on her, even if she wanted to pay the 22%, she had to mail a cashiers check for the amount of the fee + insurance ($419.68), and upon receipt, they would then issue a full refund… I’m not kidding! She refused this absurdity and we shall see what happens next…
She called again a week later and they gave her a RA number (this is a sellers control over what they accept as returns) and she shipped it back the next day. Still waiting to see how the refund plays out...

EXTREMELY aggressive salespeople. Tried to purchase a camera, but the price on the phone didn't match the price on the website. I asked and they fed me some crap about it being "A U.S. warranty versus a store Warranty." They wouldn't sell the camera without a bloated accessory package that left the price $600 over what I found elsewhere. I reluctantly placed the order because I thought they were the only people who had it in stock. I gave it a few minutes thought, and decided against it.

When I called back, it took 10 minutes of arguing with the salesperson to transfer me to the manager, and then they put me on hold for about 30 minutes. After waiting and waiting we finally got the manager - and he basically refused to cancel the order. He threatened to charge us a 'cancellation fee' even though the salesperson on the phone hadn't told us about a cancellation fee. It took another 10 minutes of arguing with the manager to get him to cancel the order. It was so slimy that it seemed surreal. He kept saying "Yes - you can cancel the order, that's your choice.. but here's what I'd like to do." Then he would ignore me and try to talk me out of it, even if I kept saying "Cancel the order, cancel the order, cancel the order now." he would just ignore me and try to sell me something else. Insanity. Finally he just said "Okay, I'll cancel the order. Have a nice day." and hung up.
