"I ordered a DVD set that showed as in-stock at the time of purchase that was a great price. After I ordered it, I was told it was backordered. Finally, a week later I received an email basically saying the item never really was in stock and they were canceling my order. I was very disappointed at that fact, not to mention it was awfully suspicious that it was "in stock" when I ordered before they decided that it was out of stock. This was not a good experience at all.But what has disappointed me more is what has happened since then-- I am being inundated by ShopPBS catalogs in my mail! Even though I *specifically* made sure the box was set to NOT send me catalogs by mail, I received them. So I went to the web site and took myself off the list. And I still received catalogs. I tried the web site again. More catalogs. So I wrote an email to their customer service who swore up and down that I was off their list. That was 2 months ago.And to no one's surprise I've gotten 2 more catalogs that I didn't want since that email. (most recently today)This has been going on for 6 months with no end in sight. I have even spoken with some friends who ordered the same (canceled) box set I ordered and they also have been getting flooded with catalogs! I am sure my name is probably always going to be on the ShopPBS roll at this point, and who knows what other junk mail I'll keep getting from them. BEWARE OF ORDERING!! You will get junk catalogs forever even if you specifically tell them not to send them!(edited to add: despite being told AGAIN on 10/15/08 that I was off the mailing list, I received another catalog in the mail on 11/10/08.)"
