This is my first time buying from shoebuy.com. I found several models of shoes in stock in my hard-to-find size, from the brand I was looking for. Excellent prices, particularly with a 20% discount offered on the weekend. I ordered on Sunday and received the order today, Tuesday (with free ground UPS). Very pleased.
I'm extremely disappointed with Shoebuy. Ordered a pair of shoes in size 6. It was delivered to me in size 6 for the left shoe, but size 7 for the right shoe.
I find it ridiculous that the item was not checked prior to shipment.
Shoebuy only responded after sending them 3 emails! They claimed that they did not receive my email. To make things worse, they did not reply to my request to ship the correct shoe size to me.
Would not recommend for non-US residents since it's hard to contact them and response time is slow. I'll never purchase any item from them again.

I am quite delighted with the customer service I received from shoebuy.com. Shoes shipped to me had a blemish, and I offered to accept the shoes with a partial discount/refund. The rep responding to my email was quite apologetic, and wanted me to know that such a lapse in quality was not acceptable to them. They agreed to my offer. Win-win encounter in my book. I'll shop there again.
I'm very disappointed with this purchase. Paid more than $150 for a pair of Birkenstock Shoes and the shoes came in a damaged box. Both the outside and inside boxes was damaged. The outside box was taped with some kind of scotch tape; seemed like it was opened by someone and the inside box was more of a flap instead of a box. I will not recommend this store to anyone and would suggest like the other reviewers to shop at either Amazon or Zappos.
Shoebuy would NOT expedite shipping on a pair of Merrells, but their website clearly states the following:
2. Expedited Shipping
If you would like to pay for expedited shipping, complete your purchase and then contact Shoebuy.com Customer Service toll free at 1-888-200-8414 or from outside the U.S. at 1-617-451-2880. A flat rate fee will apply if the merchandise is available for expedited shipping.
Aside from this deception, they will also charge your card before the product even ships. I'm still trying to get my money back from this order which was canceled 15 minutes after placing it.
Lesson learned, first and last time Shoebuy customer. I turned right around and used another online retailer and received my shoes the next day!
Ugh! This is all you need to know about shoebuy.com and their respectability as a company. After having never received the 2 pairs of shoes that I have purchased, I now have to wait 8-10 business days while they investigate. Now, over 2 weeks later, I have paid for the shoes and still await a resolution. I was told that upon completion of the "investigation", they will contact me with my options. WHAT? A worthwhile, customer focused company would immediately give me 2 options... "Would you like us to replace these items or would you prefer a refund?" No such luck, just silence from a phone customer service representative and a pleasant email from another telling me that I'll need to wait. See, they're investigating. Nice. Honestly, never again, ever. I'm disgusted and currently out nearly $70.

I see many negative reviews on shoebuy.com. However, my personal experience is very positive. The order was processed and delivered very fast, as promised. The communication with Customer Service on the status of my order was also very satisfactory. So, everything is fine and I am very please with their service. I think I will shop there again next time.
This is my second experience with this company, and I have been impressed both times. I have made two returns--both with no hassle. Each time, it was my fault -- for getting wrong size once and wrong style once. Orders filled fast--returns handled equally fast. I work for an internet retailer--I know all of the pitfalls, and I think these guys have done quite well for me.
recently I placed a couple of orders and when I asked for price adjustment and help to change orders, I was told by the customer service that i can no longer return shoes. The reason is, in the last 12+ months, I only kept 2 pairs of shoes out of 7 pairs, which included 2 gift orders that didn't work out and two defective pairs. I was shocked and of course got into a not-very-good conversation with the rep and her supervisor. What kind of online shoe company doesn't take returns? Regardless of my apology of not being a careful shopper, they still refuse to help me with my order. Wondered if this shoebuy.com is going bankrupt, which is too bad since I used to like them ok.
Warning for other shoppers, make sure you can return your order before placing it.
What a joke this company is. I bought a pair of shoes that said "in stock" and it would be shipped and recieved by Christmas. On Dec 23rd they sent me an email saying it wouldn't be shipped in time. I told them to cancel the order and that took them nearly 3 weeks to confirm a cancelation. I will never buy anything from them again
I have had decent luck with Shoebuy, even with returns. Not the friendliest folks on the block, but okay. But recently, I had an experience that has convinced me to shop someplace else.
I ordered 2 pairs of the same boot (different colors) from Shoebuy.com on 12/10/08. One pair arrived, but the other never did. I waited a week beyond the first delivery, then contacted the company to request reshipment or a refund (I'd already paid for both shoes). After a week and approx. 6 phone calls and 4 emails later, I abandoned the idea of getting the shoes, but still wanted confirmation that my account had been credited for the missing pair.
Just when one of their staff had said the missing shoes were being reshipped, someone else wrote via email to say the order had been cancelled per my request. I had never asked for cancellation, but at that point, I didn't care. I simply asked for confirmation that they were crediting my account.
They responded, "I see you have spoken with our staff and this has been taken care of." I had to laugh. Nothing had been taken care of. I never received an email with refund confirmation and the web history does not show a refund in progress.
The most stunning part of this experience was the consistency with which each person failed to follow through on assurances. Calls weren't returned, emails weren't sent, the refund and the shoes never arrived. But each time, promises were made. And of course, you talk to a different person each time and have to start all over again.
I do believe the work culture at Shoebuy.com must be a bit negative. People were friendly in a way, but never had the authority to act. I have to wonder what the work conditions are there and about their management. Certainly not the welcome you get from Zappos.com.
I see that Zappos now carries this shoe and size. As soon as I get a shoebuy.com refund, I'll be returning to Zappos.
UPDATE: I did just get an email from Shoebuy stating my card has been credited. I'd like to think that would have happened had I not called and written, but I'm not so sure.

Shoebuy.com is the best company I've dealt with for internet sales. I had to return the first pair I ordered and they immediately e-mailed me a return shipping label.My credit card account was credited back the same day they received the shoes. Both times I ordered I received my shoes in 3 days with free shipping. I'll be ordering my shoes from them in the future.
Never buy anything for this crappy company "Shoebuy.com"
I ordered my shoes 9days ago and it is still "in process"
One of the representatives told me "Shoebuy.com is not responsible for this delay"
Then, Who????
