"I ordered a bed and tables it never came so after four calendar months I called and they said it was discontinued So they then said will send you the tables ( what !!!) why would I want the tables they match the bed,,,,,,,,,, so I called American express and lost my claim I don't know who the bigger con man American express or shiparoom this item is discontinued they can't get it and they want me to pay for an item there putting on there web site they don't have,,,they told me if I dispute the bed there coming after me for payment,,,American express is backing them I called the BETTER BUSSINESS BUREAU on both shiparoom and american express asvwell as the ATTY,,general ,,,,,,SHIPAROOM ARE CONMEN STY AWAY!!! " I strongly urge that no one order any furniture from this company (also known as "Nichfurniture") They are little better than scam artists. I ordered a dining table and 4 chairs as well as a sectional couch in Sept 2012. It's now the end of March 2013 and I'm still waiting for the table and chairs. The couch was delivered in Dec but it was damaged and so returned. Their policy is that they have the right to repair and redeliver damaged items; instead they claimed that someone had taken pictures of the couch and they couldn't see the damage (which the delivery person had pointed out to me). They offered to ship the couch back as is and, after I had accepted delivery, then they would maybe look into repairing it. I declined, but I'm still being charged a "shipping fee". Concerning the table & chairs, it was explained to me that if I cancel (due to the excessive delay) then they charge me a 20% "restocking fee" as well as delivery charges, which would amount to about half of the total charge, and in addition the refund is only as a STORE CREDIT(!), as if anyone would be stupid enough to order from them again! "
"DON'T FALL FOR THEIR SCAM! I AM OUT $1,900 and after 9 weeks cannot get status of my order. I ordered patio chairs on 8/24/2012 and they charged my account for $622 I contacted them the next day and asked to cancel the order. They cancelled my order, but told me there is a 20% restocking fee and they only offered a "store credit" for $482. After disputing this for several days unsuccessfully, and not wanting to lose any more of my money, I decided to order 4 lounge chairs for an additional $1,381 on 8/31/2012. Their website said it would ship within 5 to 6 weeks. It has been 9 weeks, and I have inquired at least 8 times either via the phone, via email, and on their live chat without receiving any information. The live person I spoke to was rude and told be he had no visibility of the status of my order and I would have to wait until 5-6 weeks. Their 24-hr live phone and chat advertised on their website is very rarely "manned". Therefore I left multiple messages with no response. I wrote to their email address several times with no response. After leaving a very terse message, they responded and said they would have to check with the manufacturer on status (after 8 weeks). I've never received a response. I finally got a live chat rep tonight who said there was no record of me ever inquiring about my order and she would have to report it to her manager. When I tried to chat my response back, they turned off their 24 hr. chat service."
"NEVER order from this merchant. I ordered 3 stock (NOT CUSTOM) bar stools middle May. Credit card charged immediately. 5 weeks promised delivery (bad enough). No one knows anything till July 9 email saying order "may" ship from distribution center 8/1. Will take approx 2 wks. 3 mos delivery is absurd in today's global e-commerce world. Unable to cancel @ 6 wks without 20% restocking fee and STORE CREDIT only. Unapologetic customer service reps. NEVER USE THIS COMPANY. And this is BEFORE DELIVERY. No telling the actual quality that I now see other reviewers are criticizing."
"I am super impressed with these guys. I've bought from them 4 times. Some of their products do have fairly long lead times...that being said, the savings are substantial enough to make it worth it. None of my orders took longer than 6 weeks to arrive, which actually, for customized furniture, that's pretty darn fast. The quality is top-notch and we've been more than happy with all our purchases"
"Holy Cow! It's been 3 months to the day since I placed a $3K order. I still have not received one item and have reached out to the company many times with endless excuses of why I dont have my items. My CC was charged and since I have not yet received the items I paid for my CC is willing to credit me back the entire amount. Get a CHASE card people! Buyer beware and research this company before you buy. Dont waste time looking at thier great website pictures just move on. You will be happy you did."
"Our order took for ever to arrived...then it came in different color and missing the hardware (screws). I filled out a claim and still waiting for an answer. Can't even assembly the ones that we got because of the missing parts. I'm very dissapointed with the costumer service from this company. I will never order again...."
"Our orders took over 3 months to arrive. We heard every excuse in the book for the delay. We paid extra for them to assemble the living room set and barstools, they delivery staff showed up with no tools, so they left the items, we paid for a service we never received. We ordered white leather sofas, they were covered with some kind of black stain all over them, every piece of furniture was damaged, one of the sofa's was torn/ripped. The barstools are falling apart, we sit on them, they sink to the floor, when we try to get up they tilt over. We called immediately, they said to file a claim online, we did, still haven't waiting on a resolution. After 6 weeks and me demanding my money back, I finally got a call to let us know they found an upholstery company in my area, I have to call and arrange for them to come out and try to clean it. They are refusing to give me my money back, their customer service department is outsourced according to the Director Dan in the corporate office, after 6 months I finally spoke with someone in Corporate today. They said they only correspond with corporate via e-mails, so don't expect to speak a supervisor or manager. They refuse to put anyone on the phone. Leila hung up on me twice and Charlie never calls back. This company is not reliable, once they have your money, forget about the poor quality products and customer service. I would not recommend this company to anyone. It has been a very unpleasant experience. I will give this company 0 rating, it has been a hassle from day one. The products on the website look so good, its very deceiving, everything else is a nightmare when dealing with Ship a Room. I am beating myself up for not reading the reviews before I ordered. I can only hope and pray this nightmare ends soon."
"I am recently divorced and needed some new furniture. I found shiparoom and they have a specials part of their site with express delivery items. Most of their products are made-to-order but they do keep some things in stock. I found a sofa on there for $800 less than the original made-to-order price and 2 bar stools for $50 each. I got a 5% discount for being a first time customer and I had my items within 8 days. They also do free shipping. I am definitely buying from there again, maybe this time I will order a custom made item so I can get exactly what I want."
