"Horrible customer service and slow shipping. I placed an order for a compact fan on 8/06 and it arrived over a week later. The fan was defective so I called to get it replaced. The customer rep said they would send me out another and just to throw away the old one. Two weeks later, I still have not received my new fan. I called in again and a different customer rep said that the fan was on back order and they were sorry they never notified me (Sounded like a load of BS.) The rep said that the item JUST came back in stock (Yeah, ok) and they would send out another right away. Their site never had the item listed on back order. I will never purchase anything from Sharper Image again.
"Borderline fraud.. though im sure corporate has nothing to do with it. Whomever prepared my shipment put the older version (cheaper less effective) product in the new and improved box. I open the box.. and there was the box to the cheaper old version of my item.. It fit right inside.. how convenient. The need a little more quality control.. this is ridiculous. I couldn't believe it. Not only for one product but both products i ordered i was given the outdated cheap version when i paid for the new and improved version. Horrible experience. And now i have to wait for a return label to arrive.. they should be sending me the right stuff.. right now!!!
5/14/05 Took the items to my local sharper image and they exchanged them for the correct items with only a few minor questions and an apology. Bottom Line.. go to a Sharper Image store rather than order online to avoid a mishap."

"HORRIBLE HORRIBLE experience. I suggest not buying from them online. I ordered on Feb 18th, and more than a week later, Feb 26, my order has still not shipped and shows "Processing" on the order status website. Their site says orders typically ship within 2 business days if in stock -- and my item was in stock. I have cancelled my order with them and will never order online again. If you wnat ANYTHING from Sharper Image, go to their brick and mortar stores. Their online service and ordering is terrible. So is their phone Customer Support. It had to jump through all kinds of loops to cancel my order. Eventually i got so frustrated and angry at the process that I had to threaten with legal action if my order was not cancelled. My refund has not yet turned up, So we'll see how long THAT takes."
"I tried to order a massage chair from Sharper image using the email with the $50 off $250 offer. I was unable to get the discount to show up. Called and a representative asked me to complete the order and call back in an hour in case the discount was not shown. Did so. New rep tells me that the discount does not apply and so I cancelled the order. She said a confirmation mail would be sent. None arrived ever. Meanwhile I tried again and this time the order and the discount goes through. For 3 days both orders show as processing and I am unable to get a response to emails and gave up after being on hold on the phone for hours Finally get through and get confirmation that my 1st order is cancelled and 2nd would be delivered in 10 to 15 days. After a few hours comes an email response indicating that my 2nd order has been cancelled -- they replied to my email which clearly has only the 1st order number. The product is now gone so all I have is the aggravation of dealing with them. Very poor follow up and customer service "
"Absolutely the worst customer service I've experienced on the web.
Ordered a piece of exercise equipment from their web site on 8/31, said expected ship date of 9/6. 9/11 comes and still says "Processing" on their web site. I call on 9/12 and the customer service rep. says it is still processing, will ship in a few days. I tell him to cancel it still, so he puts me on hold and then tells me it's now magically shipped and he cannot refund the price, but that I am suppose to refuse the shipment.
Now, if it shipped, where is my tracking number? What a lie. I suspect that a chargeback will be in order."
"My order was delayed without any communication. The order status was forever in a "Processing" state. I was unable to reach the company by phone. I sent two e-mails which went unanswered. I sent a third e-mail asking to cancel the order. That e-mail also went unanswered.
Five days after I placed the order I received an automated e-mail saying my order didn't pass address verification. Five days is way too long. AVS is instantaneous. Something is definitely amiss with this company's online retail system. And five days is shipping gold during the holidays.
I ordered through another company and had to boost shipping to next day because of this lousy service. "
"TERRIBLE- Placed Christmas order on Dec 9th. Got confirm email telling me item should arrive by Dec 20th. Called CS after seeing order had not shipped a week later. I was told warehouse was out of stock but they would send item from their retail store. A few days order still has not shipped. CS tells me they can't track anything after they request it from a store, but they assure me it will arrive before Christmas. As of Dec 29th the order says canceled, but CS says its on the way. They lied to me to keep me from canceling the order. Bah-humbug"
"They rejected to take the responsibilities for the problems they did!!! I ordered an Ionic Breeze Quadra Silent Air Purifier through in August 2004. And unfortunately, the product defected in Jan, 2005. I called then and asked for a RMA. Then the horrible nightmare just begins. They shipped my RMA back on 3/11/2005 to where I moved out. So I called them up to update the address in Arizona, and they said they will send it to me again. (So far so good). I had waited for two weeks and nothing came to my front door. I called them up again to find out the status of that RMA. They told me that they shipped it out to New Jersey!? How could that happen? I called them up again. THEY BLAMED ME ON CHANGING ADDRESSES AND NOT INTENT TO DO ANY INVESTIGATIONS!? They just told me to contact with UPS myself. Today 4/30/2005, I am still dealing with them my Air Purifier!!! Can you believe it that what SharperImage did to its customers?! BE WARE!! "
"I ordered a scooter, and 2 sets of wheels. 1 week later, the scooter was delivered, but the wheels were not in the box, although they were listed as being shipped in the box. I called on the 5/23, the day it was delivered, and was promised they would go out immediately, and I would receive them by 5/30. When I did not receive them, I called back on 6/2, and was told the shipping department is now processing requests from 5/20, and will get to mine "soon". I am very disappointed with the service from this company, and will definitely remember this when purchasing again."
