"Security Cameras Direct has been the most vaulable company for me to work with. The sales consultants are very professioal and were able to make it easy for me to understand what CCTV items i needed for my school. I will be a customer for a long time to come. "

"I have been dealing with this Company for 3 years now and all of my experiences have been positive. These folks even gave me a free pass to a trade show that took place near me in NY.

"This place is by far one of the worst places I have ever had the misfortune of dealing with in my life. I'm amazed they are still in business. This is the SECOND chance I've given them, and I should have known better... First off they "forward" date your order, so it looks on paper as if they filled your order in a shorter time then they actually did. They might technically receive your order on the 10th but not 'process' it till the 20th or so even though you know dang well it didn't take a month for them to get your order by the time they get the ball rolling. Real slick.
Anyway, before sending this order, I called, emailed and made use of their live chat feature to ask, re-ask and ask again every question I could about my order because of my last horrible experience with them. I was ASSURED that the mini-camera I ordered would plug into the mini-DVR I ordered. After waiting what seemed like forever to get my small but expensive 3 item order, sure enough the camera does not fit into the DVR. $667.00 worth of useless electronics without one little adapter I REPEATEDLY asked about... AND I go through the box with a fine tooth comb and NO instructions! Even the China manufactured DVR box says it contains a quick start guide. Nope, no quick start guide, no slow start guide, nothing. So I call, explain this and am told the instructions can be emailed to me PDF style and an adapter can be sent. I say fine, but for $667.00 I would like some printed ones please. Two weeks later I get a HUGE pile of obviously PDF printed instructions and no adapter.
Nice. They don't even have 'real' printed instructions for a $500.00 DVR and the upper level female manager who promised to send the adapter asap has left a message on my phone stating I can go to Radio Shack and BUY one, because they're "cheap anyhow"... So we're going on 2 months now, I'm down $667.00, and STILL don't know if this equipment even works! I'm still waiting for the adapter! I get what I deserve, because I should have known better. Security Cameras Direct is one of the most incompetent businesses I have EVER dealt with. "

"Though I'm not very versed in security cameras, it seems that this company has prices lower than most places. Some of the sales representatives are rather versed in the subject of security cameras, but some are not and may give you slightly incorrect information. Maybe I should have figured this out on my own, but I thought they could have been more helpful with volunteering certain basic (and perhaps some not so basic) information, such as the fact that most cameras do not come with power sources or even lenses. This caused the process of getting what I needed to take longer because of having to consider new factors constantly.

Getting a hold of them for issues such as fixing a problem in your order or getting an email confirmation for a large order etc can occasionally be an issue, particularly if the sales rep you're working with tends to be busy.

The one thing that really got me is a certain issue with a wireless transmitter/receiver. They sold a four channel receiver and a four channel transmitter. I needed all four channels so I ordered four transmitters. I tried changing the dip switches on the transmitters to set them to different channels but they seemed stuck, as if they were glued in place. I called and asked about it, and it turned out that in the newest model of this transmitter, the manufacturer had stuck them on channel 1, and that the dip switches in fact HAD been glued in place. There were however still instructions on the transmitter on how to set the channel. I of course had to return three of the four transmitters and look into a different frequency band. I thought it was ridiculous that they would bother selling a four channel receiver given this equally ridiculous change in the transmitters, however to their defense I later realized that they also sold a different (high power) transmitter in that band.

Though this place seemed a little shoddy at times, overall I got what I needed and the service wasn't that bad. If you know what you're doing as far as security cameras, you shouldn't have many problems here. If you were a novice like me, make sure and ask specifically what you'd need for your setup, there might be something you didn't think of."
