"I tried to buy a $1000.00 range from Sears.com. A day after I made the purchase, my credit card was charged, and my online order status was set to "processing". No calls, no emails, nothing to update me about my order. After reading all of the complaints here, I decided to call to find out about my order staus. Lisa, told me that the order was being "processed" well, DUH... I told her I needed more information than that and she could not give me any, I just had to wait 10 to 14 days to see if I received a email telling me to pick up my Range. (Bought online to be picked up at store)What a fraud! I went to the store where I am suppose to pick it up and they looked my order up on their computer and said the iteme will be in their store on the 7th of Dec. As of Dec 10, still no Range so I called Sears again. This time Rhonda said "it looks like the item "might" be in the store on the 16th. I told her thats not acceptable and I wanted to cancel the order. This is when I get the same scam as others about it taking 10 to 14 days to get my credit card charged back. BEWARE OF SEARS.COM!!! I am filing a complaint with my State's Attorney General office and with my credit card company about SEARS.COM. (I wish I had known about this site before I made my purchase) I buy almost everything online and this is my worst experience yet.
Update! I finally received my range on 1-14-08. This was within the specified delivery time as stated on the website considering holidays and business days. I am going to upgrade my shoping expereience at Sears.com to neither satisfied or dis satisfied. What makes shopping here a bad experience is: 1) They charge your credit card as soon as you hit the buy button. 2) You don't receive a confirmation email as promised. 3) They leave you in limbo with no correspondence concerning the status of your order. 4)If you cancel your order, they make you wait 10 to 14 days for a charge back to your credit card. This is totaly un acceptable! I think they make a ton of money off of "floating" on customers orders. This practice should be outlawed. 5) I don't think Sears.com knows how to be a online merchant. I have to say, the item a purchased arrived in good condition and as specified. "

"Ordered several vehicle jumpstarters when they were on a good deal, received exacto knives. It said if you have any problem with your order you can take it into the store to return. Drove to the nearest store and spent several hours and they said they could do nothing for me. So I decided to do the return directly to sears.com. Several weeks went by and I received a partial refund. I told them I do not want a refund I want the correct product. BOTTOM LINE VERY, VERY DISSATISFIED. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND! SEARS.COM IS TERRIBLE."
"My latest order from Sears was a pleasant surprise. After reading horror stories about Sears home delivery I was prepared for the worst, but decided to take a chance because I found a really good deal on two queen mattresses. Order was delivered on the scheduled day, exactly during the time window I was given, and the delivery persons were very polite.
I wish I could say the same about my local Sears stores, employees seem bored and not willing to help, which makes this a miserable place to shop. Sears website is no better, arguably, Sears has the worst website among all major retailers. Items shown to be in stock are out of stock all the time, website slows down to a crawl randomly for no aparent reason and item descriptions are wrong/incomplete.
I hope they step up their game consideraby, else Sears would be the next major company to go bankrupt."
"Transaction went smoothly. I ordered a clock on a late Sunday night and chose store pick up. An email confirmation was sent immediately after submitting my order. The next morning, I received an email for pick up, went to the store kiosk, and someone was out with my item in less than 5 minutes.
The only negative is that I was not able to retrieve my invoice right after submitting my order because I did not create an online account at sears.com."
"I won't bore you with all the details. I bought an item online, a week later they cancel the order due to a "pricing error". Yet the item is still there at a lower price! How insane is that.
So was the error that is was too high? Why not give me a refund instead of canceling the order. This company is totally out of control.
Why are they still in business? It's been years since I bought from Sears and I finally order something and they botch it...
Here's a semi-related story. I needed a muffler for my very old (80's) sears snow blower. Price at Sears $34...what! I can get a car muffler for that! Went to Home Depot....$5.95..."
"I ordered four items from Sears.com, 3 to be picked up at the store and 1 to be delivered to my house as it was not in stock at the store. Early the next day, I called to cancel 2 of the items that I realized I did not need. Picking the first item up from the store was very easy and saved me on shipping costs. The second item arrived at my house a few days later. The funds for the two canceled items were refunded to my credit card rather quickly. All in all, a good transaction."
"I wish I had bought my other appliances from Sears (they didn't carry the one I wanted otherwise I would have). I did order a samsung washer and dryer and the whole experience went smoothly. I ordered at the same time I ordered from a deep discount online retailer, and my WD arrived three weeks ago, while I am still waiting for the appliance from homeeverything.com. The biggest irony is that since we bought from Sears over a holiday weekend, the sale deal we got made our WD cheaper than any other deal we could find and we got the service of a reputable company. The shipping was reasonable ($70) and included set up in my home, unlike a lot of web sites that say free shipping and then you have to add on fee after fee (add to walk it to the door, add to place it inside the door, add to place it in the kitchen, add to take the box off). Plus, the delivery scheduling process was very efficient and the when they said 12:15, they arrived at 12:16. I will be ordering from Sears again in the future."
"Sears is the pits! After the problems I've gone through with this order, I refuse to deal with them again. My wife and I wanted to buy a couch, so we found one and placed an order with Sears Home Center. I asked their CSR if I could use some gift certificates, and he said "yes, just send them in with the order number." I did, and two weeks later had them returned with a letter stating that they wouldn't take them. Strike one for idiocy. The couch took over a month to come in, and when it did, the delivery company screwed me over. I called to get a time to deliver, and the "boss" told me he'd have the couch delivered "after 3:00." This was important since I couldn't leave work and be home before then, and neither could my wife. I get home before 2:00 and find messages on my machine. They tried delivering at 1:00. A call to the "boss" got me rude service, no help, and an EIGHT hour window for delivery the next week. Strike two. A call to Sears about all this was the last strike. The supervisors I talked to were rude, unhelpful, and sounded like they couldn't be bothered with my problems. They basically told me "too bad. If you try refusing the delivery or returning it, we're still charging (about $200) for shipping." Strike three. Oh, and when the "delivery company" came in their unmarked and ratty-looking van, it was up to me to find a way to get the couch inside the house. One of the two guys kept saying "it'll never fit, it won't fit." I turned the couch on an angle and it came through my back door easily. The guy also reeked of alcohol, no lie, and looked fairly weak. I'm canceling my Sears Mastercard, using the gift certificates for whatever I can find cheap, and ditching Sears. A ton of hassle for one item isn't worth it."
"Very Happy. Local stores did not have the product I wanted. Used Sears.com and used the "Ship to Store" option which saved me shipping costs. The product arrived at the store a day ahead of time. I was notified and picked it up without incident."
"I don't understand how alot of other people have had bad experiences with sears. I ordered a item and received it in a timely manner. i was satisfied"
