"I used this phone in the mountains of Colorado in a very remote area with zero cell signal. The satellite phone did everything I needed it to. It obtained a signal quickly and I was able to send e-mails, texts, and phone calls clearly and easily."

"The phone worked great !I used it for a Canadian fishing trip. The trouble that I had was My landline phone service in Pittsburgh, PA ,USA " Comcast" was not able to dial the country code assigned to the phone (870)which wasnt a big problem.I would rent this phone again without hessitation !"

"Very easy to work with. Directions that were enclosed were very detailed. Phone was easy to use and was clear when speaking with the person on the other end. Company was receptive to questions and answered me right away."

"We rented a Satphone for an African safari in September 2011 and was well satisfied with its preformance. I appreciate the instructons telling us that it would take a few minutes for things to happen so I was well preapred for the necessary time it would take. The phone met my expectations very well. I would have no problem recommend that others use Telestial for rental phones."

"I recieved the phone after a couple of attemps to order and have it shipped to a different state then the one I lived in. The phone was used on a hunting trip in a wilderness area and worked well as long as you were not standing near any trees with some clear view of the southern sky. Overall it performed as expected and my wife was happy that I could call and check in."

"Rented Inmarsat phone for two months traveling in remote parts of Africa. The phone worked perfectly. The receiver itself is very compact with great battery life. Will definitely rent again."

"Phone work as discribed and worked well. We took it on a very remote backpacking trip down the Lost Coast of Northern California. Only used it twice just to let our wives know that all was well. It was a great feeling of safety to know that if something had happened to either of us or that if we had come upon others who might be in trouble, we would have been able to reach out for help. The phone showed up two days before our trip and with their instructions was easy to return. For what we got I felt the price was reasonable and would use them again."

"Website and customer service very helpfull and easy to use. Phone was light weight and had good coverage deep in Colorado wilderness area. Used it on a solo back country elk hunt. Price was reasonable."

"Phone came quickly and was well packed. It was used for a week on the AWW. Phone was a tad persnickety; required open sky, southern view, exact elevation and no movement while using it.
But it did the trick for a daily "all is well" check in with the home office.

"We rented a phone for an excursion to the mountains of the Dominican Republic. Like many other reviewers our rental phone was received promptly and we had wonderful experiences with customer service. Again, like many other reviewers the phone itself was useless. It never received signal and we were unable to use the phone for the week we had it. Again, customer service was wonderful upon our return and worked with us for a partial refund even though the problems were related to "user error". "

"We rented an Inmarsat phone for a cruise around lower Norway. Customer service was excellent. The phone arrived on time and in good condition. The actual product was awful. The antennae had to be pointing south at all times to get any signal at all, and the slightest fidget on my part caused signal loss. Complete signal loss was also caused by clouds, a glass pane, a tree (yes, ONE tree, not a forest), and a water fountain. Turning on the phone was also a hassle because often I couldn't get it past the "Acquiring GPS fix" screen, even if the sky was cloudless and I was facing directly south.

So to summarize, the customer service is great but I don't recommend the sat phones."
