"Had the same experiences as all of the other one star reviews. Sails Marine website "live inventory" shows many of the item available then, when questioned on order status, they magically "over sold by one". They cancelled the order without any input from me.This appears to be a small time operation that takes your order and your money then tries to source the item. When they can't they cancel the order. A google maps search of the listed address shows a residential house, not a commercial business. 105 Hillside Lane Monroe, CT 06468I can't believe that the five star ratings on this site are from real customers."
"I ordered a gps receiver from Sails Marine. It took 5days to ship but it was mailed USPS for a very reasonable rate. Face it even with the 5 day delay in shipping it still arrived sooner than an order I placed with Amazon that shipped Fedex Smartpost! I would definitley order from Sails Marine again as long as arrival was not high priority."

"I did not check reviews for this site and was suprised by the low price. I ordered a DPx Gear Folder 2.0, on Aug 31st. It was one of many in stock with a so called "live" count. Days later, nothing. I sent an email for notice of shipment, no response. 7 days after ordering, I filed a dispute with my bank and whaddya know.. that evening I get a shipping notice from SailsMarine, with a non-working USPS tracking number. We'll see what actually shows up. UPDATE... The tracking was issued on a friday evening, the knife was shipped at noon on saturday the 8th. Received on the 10th. Floppy bubble bag shipping container, so knife box can get beat up by USPS. Knife is in factory shape. Whatever, no communication and what good is a "LIVE" inventory count if you ship a week after getting paid? Lucky I didn't have more issues than slow shipping."
"Ordered a knife from them. After I got the product (with a 5 day shipping delay as some other reviewers mentioned) I found that it had some surface corrosion. I was told I could return the product for possible refund. However shipping would be at my expense. They stated this was "per their return policy". What kind of store handles defective products in the same manner as returns by choice? Horrible service. "
"WORST EXPERIENCE I'VE HAD WITH AN ON-LINE RETAILER, ***BEWARE***Here are the facts. I provided my full address upon ordering. Sails in error only put my name, city and zip on the package and left out the street address. UPS couldn't deliver and returned it to Sails 13 days later. I emailed Sails while in route back to them and they said couldn't do anything while package was in route back and never acknoweldged the error. Once received by Sails, they summarily issued me a refund without explanation. They could have acknowledged the error, told me they'd ship another unit to my "street address" and all would be fine, however they made me wait for 2 weeks before issuing me a credit without any offer to reship. WORST EXPERIENCE I'VE HAD WITH A ON-LINE RETAILER. ***BEWARE***"
"Don't Deal with this "company", highly unprofessional and undeserving of your business. They will ship it to you when they get around to it, then, when you complain that your order has not been shipped after 5 days, they will block you from their website. Really regret giving them a single penny. Online shopping is supposed to be hassle free, not with sailsmarine.com"
"I ordered from sails marine at 9am on tuesday after thinking the price was too good to be true almost $50 less than the next cheapest on google also shipping for this thirty pound item was only $4 ups or $23 next day so I figured why not go next day then I got to thinking after I ordered I might have just got taken so I found this website which scared me even more I have to say I'm so impressed I can't believe it they delivered my tube the next day just as promised I never write reviews but had to just to set someones mind at ease the price and shipping was awesome and almost to good to be true I couldn't be happier"
"Terrible! Product page offers expedited shipping, but then says "four days lead time" and product still didn't ship until 5 days later. Phone calls direct you back to the website, and while response time was quick, they simply canceled my order rather than overnight the product."

"It's been four days since I made the order and had my credit card billed for that order yet, the order sits unfilled. I emailed Sails Marine yesterday and asked why the order wasn't filled yet. I was told it would be done by 2pm (ET) today. Just checked and it's still not filled. Won't be ordering from this company any more and if the order is not filled tomorrow I will be calling the credit card company to void the transaction with Sails Marine."

""Frustrating" would be a good one-word review of this website. I cannot find fault with the selection or pricing of the Sails Marine website, as they are consistently one of the lowest priced websites I find in Google Shopping when I go after Cold Steel products. What I will find fault with is their shipping and their customer service; there was no option in terms of what kind of shipping you could select from with this website, it was U.S.P.S. First Class (i.e.; snail mail) only, and the seller was slow to get the item in the mail at that. I placed my order on a Tuesday morning, got my USPS tracking number Thursday night, and did not actually start getting updates on where the item was or when it would be delivered until Friday. It was finally delivered on Monday, because the USPS sorting centers are closed on the weekend.Secondly, customer service. I lost my password at one point, and the password retrieval application on the website was giving me trouble, so I wrote customer service. A day later I got a rather bizarre response from them about changing my shipping address, something of which I had not asked about. I never did get a response to my situation, but was able to resolve it on my own.After learning that the website is based out of a private residence and not an actual business front, I have no intention of ordering from or dealing with this website again. The value they can give on the products I'm after are not worth the aggravation involved in dealing with this site."
"BEWARE!!!!The sent me a defective product that also had missing pieces! When I asked them to correct the mistake, they told me I had to pay to return it to them AND that I would get charged a 20% restocking fee!!"
