Ruby Lane ? No where Lane...
"After signing up and paying the required 100.00 deposit fee, and spending two days of listing the required ten items to open my store, I received an e mail from Ruby Lane DENYING MY REQUEST TO OPEN SHOP. Why, the e mail said this, "after careful consideration, we findf that it is n our best interests NOT to open your shop, and refund your $100.00 fee. Which Ruby Lane did honor their word on that. I sent an e mail requesting more info to their supposed, "great customer service department", no response. Mind you the items I posted for sale where, all HIGH END AUTHENTIC AND CERTIFIED ITEMS Some with Loyd's of London certificates.I found this review from another shop owner, that was also turned down RUBY LANE YOU ARE TURNING AWAY PROFITABLE BUSINESS AND YOU WILL CLOSE IF YOUR COUSMTER SERVICE TREATS BUSINESS LIKE THIS! As at that time, many of my items could not be listed on Ruby Lane due to their strict standards (such as jewelry lots, etc).I never had a bad report against me, never had a customer dispute and sold between 13K and 20K a year for the time I was there. I have sold online since 1996 and have 100% positive feedback with top seller status on eBay. I inquired about opening a shop on Ruby Lane last month and received this reply within minutes. "Regrettably we have decided it is not in our best interest for you to open a Ruby Lane shop. Thank you for using Ruby Lane."I wrote back and asked them if they could please give me an explanation. Seeing as that my shop had been closed in good standing, all my fees paid on time and good customer relations. My husband and I have been long time Ruby Lane shoppers as well. This really surprised me, as my experience with Ruby Lane customer service had always been really good and helpful. They boast to have the "best customer service" of all selling venues. They refused to answer. They simply wrote back, "It is not in our best interest unfortunately. Thank you for using Ruby Lane".I am doing well on the other venues in which I sell fortunately, and I don't need a company with that kind of customer service attitude. It's really sad because they used to be really friendly and helpful. I am part of an online selling group of over 4000 professional sellers and I inquired if anyone had such an issue and the Ruby Lane shop owners were appalled and perplexed at Ruby Lane's response and "decision".I would never tell anyone not to shop on Ruby Lane because I know so many great sellers who are shop owners there. But there is something really wrong with a company that treats its former shop owners and current shoppers in this manner. I certainly will not be on their site at all in the future. I am giving Ruby Lane two stars because three years ago it was a great venue when I left, but my current experience is zero stars.My own personal views are; " What a waste of my time", NEVER WILL I RECOMMEND Ruby Lane, Kerstin's Antiques here I come.."
"I Purchased a jewelry set from the shop ANTIQUE CHARM from the Ruby Lane site. The set was advertised as Christian Dior unfortunately my mistake was not asking for photos of the trade mark because when I received the set it was not Christian Dior. I took it to a jeweler who identified the markings as Monet ( a 1970's cheap dress jewelry company ) and there were 2 broaches and a set of earrings which had were not of the Monet set but had similar colour stone and were actually Swarovski. So the seller had actually confused and mixed two different sets of jewelry and labeled them all Christian Dior. The problem started when I asked for a refund based on the fact that they were miss - represented and not what I had believed I had purchased I received a reply from the seller telling me that because I purchased by lay-by " you won't be getting my money back." In addition to purchasing by lay-by I live in China so had the jewelry shipped to my mother's place in Australia and it was 2months after shipment when I arrived back in Australia to find the mistake with the jewelry , because of the time difference the seller accused me of tempering with the trademarks and changing them ( How I would do that I don't know ). I emailed Ruby Lane assistance sending the jewelers report and photos of the trademark on the back of the jewelry only to receive a courtesy reply but no assistance. Finally I took the Swarovski pieces for an evaluation and they were valued at more then I had paid for the set, the Monet pieces were worth nothing so their was a silver lining for me. Regarding customer service from Ruby Lane they don't support customers. The customer service I received from Antique Charm was nothing short of rude her final email to me which she copied to Ruby Lane customer service stated that she apologized to Ruby Lane for her customer ( being me ) wasting their time with my complaint. I will never use Ruby Lane site again and I would never recommend Antique Charm they are rude and novice."
Ruby Lane allows unscrupulous sellers hide their feed backs from potential buyers.
"I would choose 0 stars of possible - this site is run terribly and totally in favor for their sellers. A few are good, but so many I have dealt with are terrible, including Bird on a Wire Antiques.Do yourself a favor and shop on site like Etsy or Ebay where buyers can leave full and unbiased feedback."
