"Repair tech no longer exists. I purchased a canon camera from a company I was uncertain of so I purchased the extended 5 year warranty. My camera broke and I have tried going to repair tech but the phone numbers I have are no longer in service. "

"Repair Tech & Broadway Photo,

On 8/16/2007 I purchased a Fujifilm S3 Pro along with a 5 year extended warranty through Broadway Photo & Repair Tech. I just called Broadway Photo to see how to go about using the warranty and they gave me a web address to go to. After going to the web address, I found out that Repair tech is no longer in business. The site claims they are coving some of repair techs warranties at a fair cost to the buyer, I did not purchase an extended warranty to get a fair cost, Someone needs to hold these companies responsible.
Looks like I am out the money that I paid for the warranty along with a broken camera!"

"I purchased 2 separate protection plans for repair Tech on Dec 07. A 5yr ( up to 500) for my Garmin Nuvi navigation system and a 4yr ( up to $1000) for a Sony hd camcorder. I called repair tech for service and learned that Repair Tech is out of business. I got doubled screwed for 2 separate protection plans. I will definitely join any class action suite in order to obtain a refund. My email is czr10001@yahoo.com"

"I found out the hard way that Repair Tech was out of business. The post just prior to this one had an 800 number that I called and found out that the contracts from Repair Tech with the number 1 as the starting digit were from the old company that was doing the repair work prior to June of 2008. During the takeover period after June the leading number was changed to a 4. My interpretation of this info is that if you purchased a contract after June of 2008 and it contained a 1 as the first digit it would not have been honored from the gitgo.Any company that sold these contracts after June of 2008 in my opinion has commited fraud. My camera is 30 days past the factory warranty and it is going to cost $308 to have Sony repair it and I am out the $200 for the original "warranty" as well.
My purchase was from Broadway Photo of Brooklyn NY"

"In Dec of 2008, I purchased a 3yr warranty for a Canon Rebel XSi. One year later, I am trying to reach RepairTech to file a claim for a minor repair. Of course, all phone numbers have been disconnected and web site is no longer up. Reading this forum I tried the phone number to AmTrust Financial: 1-800-663-9978. I was impressed that someone actually answered. But she told me that they only took over warranties from RepairTech purchased between 6/2008 and 1/2009. And that they only are servicing some of those plans, particularly ones that have a service contract number that starts with a "4." Mine started with a "1." Good luck to those trying to make a claim. I hope you have a "4." I will be following up with the FTC and Florida's attorney general. "

"Purchased this extended warrenty from RepairTech who is now out of business from another company online called Prestige Camera LLC (also a crap company). this warrenty was supposed to be up until 500 for a Garmin Nuvi. I have put in a complaint at FTC.gov and I filled out a form on this web site http://www.class-action-litigation.org/thanks.asp as another person on here suggested. and I suggest anyone else that has been scammed by this company do the same. It took 20 min all together. I will never again buy electronics online...Bestbuy all the way.

"I purchased a Minolta Maxxum 5D camera from Express Cameras.com in Edison, NJ 08837 2/10/06. A 5yr Repairtech extended warranty for digital cameras came with the purchase. The total for the purchase was $940. I called Repairtech today and discovered they were out of business. I suspect that it is Express Cameras that is actually the source of the scam. I have reported this to the FTC and will report it to the New Jersey ahuthorities as well. "

"We purchased a top of the line Bosch washer and dryer from Abes of Maine on Jan 3rd '08 and today July 22nd 09) when we tried to get in touch with the warranty company (REPAIR TECH INC) to repair a problem, we discovered that they were no longer in business. We paid $349 for the 3 yr extended warranty.
We would like to join class action suit against Reapir Tech Inc, and I went onto this site:
http://www.class-action-litigation.org/thanks.asp
and filled out the 'Contact Us' section.
Unfortunately the Birmingham AL law firm is not handling the suit - as stated in an earlier complaint.
PLEASE everyone, let's do this and get these thugs to take responsibility!
AM Trust have taken over Repair Tech's warranty for anything purchased AFTER JUNE 2008, so we are screwed!"
