"Do not trust this company!!!! They are a bunch of thieves!!!!! I ordered a Nikon D200 body at a very good price. I called thier 800 phone number and ASKED THE ALL IMPORTANT QUESTION "Is this a USA Camera. The salesperson said definitely! He then proceeded to sell me an extended life battery for the camera (there is no such thing). By the time he got done the price was certainly at the current price of a USA D200. When I got the camera it was a gray market camera with an extra warranty from saul's kosha deli and camera repair. When I call the customer service line I was dsiconnected multiple times or left on hold forever. Finally after connecting friends a the NY attny Generals office. I finally found out all the sneaky details about this company ( including alias') I finally threatenined them with legal action as well as contacting American Express to stop payment and only then did they agree to take the camera back and send me a Real Nikon USA warranty camera. When the new camera came (Body only) it was in a Nikon USA 18-70mm Combo box with the lens removed. So did I really get a new camera or a returned camera. It looked new and unused but I decided to cut my losses and run. When the extra battery arrived it was the same nikon battery as the one shipped with the camera ( again it was not a better extended battery) Don't trust these people and don't trust the rating on this site it has been over inflated since the last time I checked 2 months ago."

rainbowtronics, RainbowTronics (USA Photo Nation, RadioActiveDeals, expecam.com) rep has responded

“After reviewing the account of Mr. Sciblia I have found that he did in fact order a USA Nikon D200. In error we had shipped him an import model camera. When he had contacted us we had exchanged it for the USA model. We had not defrauded or stolen anything from Mr. Sciblia, everything was corrected and he still has the merchandise. This order is from May 7, 2006. Everything was corrected by May 21, 2006.”

"Bottom line - avoid this company. They use bait & switch as standard operating procedure. I placed an order for a Sony camcorder and the web site said it should arrive in 7-10 business days. Next day I received an email asking me to call "to confirm your credit card information."

I called, stayed on hold for 5 minutes, and endured an attempt to upgrade me to the "US package" (vs. "international") for an additional $60. I declined and was told the battery and charger were not the original Sony issue. The guy then informed me it might arrive in about 6 weeks.

It's doubtful the advertised price is even available, the 6 weeks is probably to get the buyer to cancel the order if they won't be scammed into paying $60 more than the advertised price.

This company is scum."

" WARNING STAY AWAY
This is an Ali-Baba style bazaar full of deception. You can not complete your transaction in the website. They do not comply with their assurances. They do not comply with delivery schedules. They keep changing the selling terms. Don’t believe their ratings in sites like this: Rainbowtronics reward buyers who fill the surveys. Be sure to read ALL their policies. They are clever. They never put the date or the conditions on the invoice. When you complain by phone they are deceitful and rude. They are problematical to cancel ignored orders. They are tough to refund money.
THIS IS MY STORY
On December 13 (noon) I purchased a Nikon D80. The terms were: Item in stock. Shipping: 1 business day. Delivery: 3 to 5 days. “Guaranteed before Christmas”. I paid with Amex. After 36 hours (December 14 in the night) the order still was “pending verification” (?) When I called they hold me for 20 minutes. Said order was pending “phone confirmation”. No place in their website sys that. They pushed really hard trying to sell me more things. Afterwards, the order was placed “In shipping”. It remained there thru December 15. When I called on Dec 16, I was assured it will be shipped that day before 5:00 pm. That did not happened. On Saturday they do not work. On Sunday my order still was “In shipping”, now with the remark “not guaranteed by Xmas”. I called and asked to cancel my order. They refused and suggested to pay rush delivery. No apologies, no promises to expedite. Just denials and animosity. Four days after buying the item it hadn’t been shipped. After much haggling they cancelled my order. Until now, they haven’t gave my money back."

"Placed an order for a camera. A couple days later I got an email saying I needed to give them a call back. Called back three different times and left a message, but they never called back. Finally got through and they tried to sell me accessories that I didn't need"

"After having been screwed over by not 1 but 2 bait and switchers (one was not even a "too good to be true offer" unless having something in stock is too good to be true, I opted for reading reviews before buying. Rainbowtronics had the best price on what I was looking for without having a bait and switch rep. The reviews were right, so far: They confirmed in stock, sent an order number with accurate confirmation, pricing and shipping detail. So far so good. As with all discounters, be prepared for some upsell. To their credit, Rainbowtronics only tried to sell what they thought I needed (charger, warranty), the prices were not out of line, and they were absolutely not pushy or rude. I will update after order arrives, if possible."

"Beware this company - RainbowTronics, Inc. dba RainbowTronics.com! They lure you in with low prices, then tell you the item is an "international" version (yeah - like a camera made for Europe can't take pictures in the US!), then demand you buy a "package" that makes the item an American item (just add another $59.00 to the advertised price). If you refuse and demand the item you originally ordered, they threaten that the item is suddenly on "backorder" for three or four months, but that they will charge you for the item immediately. I canceled the order, but I am left with a very slimy feeling in my gut - called the credit company to warn of this company's apparent bad faith, also filed with the BBB. I should have known the price was too good to be true!

Also, this website was clearly set up by Rainbow to lure customers in:
