"I recently ordered 10 cables from RPI for my LGVX7000 phone and 9 of my friends who have the same. The ordering process was a dream, instantly I was charged for the merchandise and received confirmation emails to verify my purchase. In my haste ordering, I forgot to order 2 more cables. I picked up the phone and called RPI, a friendly intelligent customer rep picked up on the first ring and was extremely helpful updating my order. 3 days later I received my order of 12 cables with a gift of complimentary car chargers and coupons for future purchases - what a great company. I hooked up the cable to my computer and installed the software RPI provided but ran into a glitch.. I picked up the phone and called their support number on the RPI website, a support person picked up the phone on one ring!! He talked me through my issue in around 5 minutes, and asked me after if there was anything else he could help me with..What exemplary, professional customer service!! I was so pleased with my buying experience at RPI wireless, that I emailed their esteemed owner, Robert Valentine (he's alive) and he replied back about an hour later very gracious for my high praises.

If you believe a word of this...you're high, retarded..or both.

FU RPI Wireless!!!!

"I ordered a LG USB data kit from this vendor. It arrived very timely, and very well wrapped. After opening it, I was extremely disappointed by the lack of professionalism. The drivers CD were home made with a CD burner on Durabrand CD-Rs (Durabrand is the Walmart store brand... yes, they bought them at Walmart). And the connector set is obviously third-party generic. As a seasoned software programmer, it took me well over 20 minutes to figure out how to get the device working properly, so I have great sympathy to all those others who said the drivers didn't work. The software boot-sequence was written with Visual Basic, and the writers did not even bother to change the default program icon! (Not to mention an extremely silly song that is played when the CD is inserted into the drive... something akin to 4 drunk guys singing about how RPI wireless is awesome.)
Overall, I got a cheap product, and it worked. That much I am happy with. I've just got a suspicion that for your average user, its just gonna be frustration."

"Had problems downloading software purchase. It's description made it sound like a competitor to DataPilot. It was a rip off. I received free software that could've been had for free from a freeware/shareware site."

" This has been the worst buying experience ever. On January 22, 2004 at 7:00 am I ordered a data cable for my phone from this site. Today is the 2nd of February, and the only thing I have received is an email saying that the order is complete. No cable and no tracking number. I am currently holding on the phone for over 20 minutes listrning to some crappy music with a voice cutting in every once in a while telling me I am the first person on the queue.
Whatever you do avoid these people like the plague. It is probably some kind of rip off. Next call is to the CC company to stop payment."

"Credit card charged day of order, item never shipped, emails and calls not answered, webpage shows order "complete" but no tracking number. On-line "help" menu goes offline when I enter my order number to ask for refund or shipment. Grossly inept business conduct avoid this merchant!"

"Was told by sales person that the required installation software CD would be included with mobile phone datacable but did not receive the CD with purchase.
Have not been successful contacting anyone at RPI by phone after several attempts.
Plan to return cable for refund. "

"Stay sway from RPI Wireless!

I ordered a USB charging cable from them on 3/6/04 and my credit card was immediately charged. The next day they emailed me to let me know the order has been completed and was being sent out by USPS Priority Mail.

2 weeks later still no cable. I called and emailed the company at least a dozen times but did not receive any response. It's as if no one works at RPI Wireless.

6 weeks after my initial order I placed an order with a competitor. I also called up my CC company to dispute the charge. 4 days later UPS tries to drop off a package from RPI and I refused shipment.

I'll never deal with these guys again. If you want to hear more horror stories log onto Howards Forum."

"I too ordered a data cable from this company, however DID receive it in a timely manner. Yes, they charged my card immediately. I did make the mistake of trying to call and add items to my order, two phone holsters. Once I found a number that would get me through instead of the menu loop that the 888 number puts you through, I was able to get a person to add the holsters to my order and they shipped with the cable. However, once I received them, I did not like them and tried to return. They WOULD NOT allow me to return them. I'm stuck with $24.00 work of product that I DO NOT WANT. Avoid this company.
BTW: to find their "hidden" number, go to http://www.rpiwireless.com, and do a text select below the manufacturers logo's, you'll find a (618) number there that answeres with "hello". Yeah, I think it's someones basement."
