"I placed an order for a complete front clip for a 1994 Plymouth Van, less the fenders and hood. The sales person broke the order into individual parts and assured me that these parts would be "Class A" and fully inspected by them before shipping to a remote repair location. I have been unable to resolve this with Rex or June, and have turned the entire issue over to my bank as a disputed charge.
1 - Parts arrived unusable because of rust and cracks, including parts rusted together that could not be separated without drilling or cutting.
2 - An additional charge of $120.00 was made on the credit card with no information on what it was for.
3 - When attempting to cancel the entire order, they argue part by part to try and justify a restocking fee, when they have failed to deliver the complete order as promised.
By breaking the order into individual parts, they seem to think that they can avoid being responsible for delivering the complete solution.

"There is a strange mix of positive and negative experiences posted here; you'd think that a company would be more uniformly good (or bad). Fortunately, my experience was one of the good ones. I needed a front trim part for a 1986 Buick Regal, and QAP came through in good time.
The part was a bit pricey, IMHO, but it was both scarce and important, so I got it.

Since I very rarely buy old used parts, I don't know if the non-clean state of this part was usual or not. It didn't take me long to clean it, which shows that any supplier (QAP or other) could easily provide a cleaned part. I recommend that the suppliers, in general, adopt the practice ... but it's not a big deal."

"This company is unbelievably awful. They screwed up my order in every imaginable way, then their staff calls me at work, time and again, supposedly to "resolve" the problem. Nearly three months have passed and nothing has been resolved. It is an insane time suck.

Summary to date:

1. On 7/9/12, I ordered an auto side mirror from Quality Auto Parts with electrical connections for "folding option." I was extremely clear in what I needed.

2. On or about 7/12/12, I had several phone conversations with personnel at Quality Auto Parts. I was very clear about the exact options that I needed.

3. On or about 7/13/12, Quality Auto Parts called me and told me that they could not ship the part via expedited shipping as promised. They credited $45 to my account (the amount for expedited shipping).

4. After the part arrived in late-July, I had it installed at a local shop. It did not work. In early August, I went back to the shop and they torn apart the door of my car to troubleshoot. They found that the part sent by Quality Auto Parts did not have the necessary electrical connectors.

5. At about this time, I received a customer service email from Quality Auto Parts. I explained the problem. I received several follow-up calls, but I did not receive a replacement part.

6. On September 12, I received an email from Quality Auto Parts claiming that they had sent a replacement part. I never received it, so in exasperation I filed a dispute with my bank. Then Quality Auto Parts calls me several times and reveals that they sent the part to the shop. (This information was not in the tracking emails that they sent, nor was it available on the web site for the shipping company.)

7. On Saturday, September 22, I spend the morning at my auto shop. The replacement part from Quality Auto Parts has no electrical connections whatsoever. I photograph everything and send photos to Quality Auto Parts by email. I then return the replacement part, using a UPS label that Quality Auto Parts sent me, following the written instructions provided by Quality Auto Parts.

8. On Monday, September 24, 2012, Quality Auto Parts calls me several times at work and emails me repeatedly. Now they say that I sent the replacement part to the wrong address. Apparently, I should not have used their UPS label or followed their written instructions. And, of course, they blame me for the “miscommunication.”

9. So now, 2 ½ months after my ”expedited” order, I have wasted hours upon hours on the phone, writing emails and going to the shop because of Quality Auto Parts. Of course, I have also had to pay my auto shop, as well."

"This company absolutely sucks!!!!!! I hope that they go out of business strictly because there product shows that they do not need to be in the market for automotive parts. I have 99 camaro I asked for an exhaust manifold and both returns! Yes I said both returns that I sent back to them were worse than the one in my very own car. I am in the process of getting another one. A job that should take a week has cost me a month. I highly recommend that you do not use this company and pray that they go out of business. THIS PLACE SSSSSUUUCCCKKKKSSSSS!!!!!!"

"Quality Auto Parts is the only company in the USA that was able to get me the exact OEM part for my Mercedes. After incorrect parts sent and returned, even with my VIN, this company is the only one that actually checked the exact part number for an exact replacement. Other companies stated that my part was interchangeable with another model, but after receiving a different part number, I found this to be completely inaccurate. I went through AutoECM, Automotix, among numerous companies and no one can guarantee the part number except Quality Auto Parts. Even used the part was pricey, but worth the correct part and they guaranteed the ship time, in which the part arrived on the date promised.

Customer service was the rare courteous and accommodating, as most other companies that I contacted had little to none.

I'm completely satisfied with the customer service, the part being the exact fit and the delivery time. I will purchase from them again if needed in the future."

"I bought a 99 GMC Sonoma engine from Adam of Quality auto Parts. It cost $890 and he said it was re-manufactured. That means it is rebuilt with new parts. Even if it was just part of the engine rebuilt it would still be considered re-manufactured. What I got from there company was an engine that was pulled from a junked truck. Exhaust line was cut and the fuel lines as well. They literally cut and pulled it from the truck. Then they spray painted it black and silver to make it look "new". they even spray painted the exhaust and spark plug wires. Not only that but the coils were busted and it still had the original oil filter on it. My mechanic didn't want to put it in because he knew I got screwed. I called back and they gave me the run around badly, saying that they didn't say re-manufactured and then saying they couldn't find the recording and then saying there was an error on the recording. They didn't even want to accept the warranty I had on the engine. Right now I'm in the process of sending it back for a full refund. Bottom line is, they don't give you what they say there going to. It's a scam, a rip off, and if you buy from them you will get screwed."

"I ordered and bought from Quality Auto Parts. I was very pleased with Quality Auto Parts customer service department in that I felt that they went out of their way to locate what is a relatively rare part for my hot rod 1979 Cadillac that I am building. A factory aluminum hood. The part when delivered was in excellent shape as promised and the delivery was prompt. The only very minor complaint was that I felt the packaging could have been better. The part was well protected but the shredded paper used to protect it was difficult to work with and messy and difficult to clean up. This was far overshadowed however by being able to talk to someone that knew and understood what I was looking for when many others either didn't even know they existed or were unwilling to take the time and trouble to locate one among the much more numerous and available steel hoods available for that model car. Many thanks to the Quality Auto parts owner and staff for their help with my project "

"This may be one of the worst companies in the country. I ordered a major engine part that showed up damaged and they refuse to refund my money.. Although they say the parts are inspected and are in good working order DON'T BELIEVE A WORD THEY SAY!!!"

"I'm glad I did business with Quality Auto Parts. They really came through for me - went the extra mile in search of very rare parts. They even sent me the wrong part (Chrome OEM Wheels for a 1994 Mitsu 3000GT VR-4), but I was able to immediately return it, and the kept searching until they found what I was looking for. They know their stuff, and their customer service is very good. I'll go back to them again."

"I purchased a rear end gear box for my car. It came in an oil soaked box. My mechanic was hesitant to install so I called QAP with the concern. They offered a $30.00 refund. My mechanic went ahead and installed the part. The part was worse than the part I was replacing. Not only did I have to return the part on my dime, nobody will talk to me about my return part. They hide behind the terms and conditions and care less about satisfying the customer. I too asked where are you located and they said Schaumburg Ill, but it's curious - everybody has a Indian accent - hmmmmmmmmm. Dishonest doesn't begin to describe their conduct"

"After reading the other reviews I was very leery of ordering from Quality Auto Parts. But it was them or one other yard charging over twice as much (and I could pay with paypal). Yes, the person I talked to was a little difficult to understand but his english was good enough. I was impressed when I received two calls from Quality after I made the purchase, one from the salesman and one from his manager - The part was difficult to describe and there were multiple parts with the same name on the diagram. They were very concerned that I receive the proper part. The part was shipped within two days of sale and arrived in good condition."

"Ripoff artists. They told me they had the part, then called a week later to say they had to source it from another dealer. They wanted to bump the price by 10%. Billed my credit-card and then another 2 weeks go by and I get another call telling me they can't cover it with their warranty. I complained and said the deal was already done. Called after another week. Part still hadn't shipped and they tried to tell me that I had already been informed that it would be covered by warranty. I demanded a refund, of both the initial fee and their "non-refundable" transaction processing fee. They agreed, but only on threat of being sued. These guys are thieves. Don't deal with them. I haven't seen a refund yet, but will sue them if it doesn't happen promptly."
