They are a scam. I ordered a Canon D50 w/Canon 28-200 mm lens. Received a Canon Eos 450 with a cheap lens and filters that don't fit, along with other junk I don't need, I called to return. They tried to talk me into it by switching out the :Wrong" components but I said No Thanks, I want to return for a refund. Then they wanted to charge me 15% re-stocking. After a few threats they gave me an RMA to return for a full refund. I shipped package back but have not received my refund, 6 weeks later. I have reported to Credit Card company and they will try to handle but who knows. They are crooks and should be put out of business

Prophoto Nation.com is criminal. I'm not talking a disgruntled customer here. They received a $3,000 camera order from me on June 9. Sent me an e-mail saying the camera would be delivered on June 19. On June 22, I contacted them and said no camera was delivered. I was told they did not receive any money for the order and to do a chargeback with my credit card company. I told them that my order was processed with two transactions (one for .99 and a second one for $2,999.99) and they said both transactions were intercepted by a third party. I was incredulous about their non-chalent, smug attitude. Then they had the audacity to say they had a package with my name on it and would I authorize them to charge my credit card again for the $3,000 amount. I said, "Hell no." I immediately contacted my bank and cancelled the card number so they could not do a credit card transaction again on my account. My bank immediately filed a fraud claim against prophoto nation.com These guys are shady and will be reported to the F.B.I. for criminal investigation. I wish I had read the reviews on this company. The reviews are evidence enough to indict and shut this company down. I since ordered from Adorama and received my order within two business days. DO NOT ORDER FROM PROPHOTONATION.COM THEY ARE A CRIMINAL "BAIT AND SWITCH" OPERATION. Go and file a complaint with a "Fraud Investigator" at your local police department and initiate an investigation. The more people do this quicker Prophoto nation will be shut down for criminal activity. FINALLY AS OF JULY 18 MY BANK REFUNDED MY ACCOUNT IN THE AMOUNT OF $3,000 AFTER THEY RULED IN MY FAVOR BASED ON MY FRAUD INVESTIGATION REQUEST. Now I hope the police will do the same and shut these characters down! This review was modified by its author, photowoman, on

I found in two separate searches the Canon SX10IS for $199.99, (refurb), from ProPhotoNation, with a 3 year replacement warranty. I called in to order, because the ad copy said "camera body", and I knew the camera was not an SLR. I was assured the lens and camera were one, and was told to order over the internet, not over the phone.
I asked in the comments box to have the tracking number sent out when they generated it, and waited a week. (I am in CA). I then called and left a message, asking for a tracking number, and when they had not responded in 24 hours, I called.
The man in customer service took my order number, and transfered me to another man, who took the order number again, and told me the camera had not been shipped, because my billing and shipping addresses had not been verified. He asked me to verify, then asked for the last three digits on my credit card.
Next, I was told what a nice unit I had ordered, but that the battery that comes with the camera only lasts 30 minutes, and I could upgrade to a 2 hour battery for the special price of 89.99. I told the man I was pretty upset about them not having shipped yet, and wasn't really receptive to adding accessories, when I didn't even have the camera. He apologized and told me he was emailing my tracking number, and said goodbye.
The email I received states they do not have the camera in stock, and they have not billed my card. I realized then why the accessories they show when you look at the camera are so expensive.
I will follow up with a report to the BBB in their area, but would really like to see some consequence to this underhanded selling practice.
Thanks for this forum,

Absolutely hands down the worst shopping experience of my life. They charged me $445 for a battery that I did not order and that I did not receive. Who pays that much for a camera battery? They also charged me $590 for a 32 Gb CF card which they also did not send me. They promised me a speedlite for $350, but they still charged me $480. Scammers - customer service was horrendous. Instead of sending me the CF card and refunding me for the battery, they want me to return everything. Horrible business - avoid them! I placed my order on 5/12/09. I did not receive my order until 6/10/09. My guess is they wanted the credit card to finalize so that I had no chance of filing a dispute with my credit card company. These people are thieves. Called repeatedly to confirm order of Nikon D700, and ask for delivery date. I was transferred to several people and eventually cut off most times. One time, I did talk to a rep who said my order had been sent to their warehouse and would be filled in 7-10 days.
After a couple weeks, my credit card company said my account had been compromised by a merchant, and the card was cancelled. That card had not been used since the order at Pro Photo
Nation.

Thanks for the warnings. Thus I asked American Express to stop payment on my order to ProPhotoNation but I was told the payment cannot be stopped nor the case can be pursued for refund unless the charge shows on my statement. With prevention versus cure in mind, I forwarded the link to all your comments to ProPhotoNation on my email reply. My order was changed to "Backorder" the following day. That saved me from the further aggravation of having even to talk to any of ProPhotoNation Sales Rep. I hope this helps other victims of this scam. This review was modified by its author, VRU, on

DO NOT EVER ORDER ANYTHING FROM THESE SCAMMERS.
I wish I had been more careful!! I am still trying to get my 1149.00 back and I have NO merchandise.
They have a D rating with the BBB
They would not give me their address when I asked for it so I could send them in writing my demands and complaints.
THEIVES>>>SCAMMERS
I suspect the nice comment from bernardoh is actuallt Bernard...one of the scammers fo the "company"
DO NOT BUY FROM THEM!!!

I wish I had seen these reviews and other sites before I ordered. I experienced what other people have written about (variable prices online; bait & switch; received a box of garbage but no camera). I've called my credit card company to stop the payment.

Pro Photo Nation is the abslute worst online retailer I have ever had experience with. My history with online shopping is quite extensive, stretchng more than a decade, and I can say without hesitation my experience with Pro Photo Nation was terrible. Their bate and switch techniques and false advertise either are or border on criminal.

Never attempt to buy from this company. They are the premier company for "bait and switch." I attempted to order a camera (body only) from them. Victor called and said that what I was ordering was a "professional model" and would not work because there was no programming in the camera. It also came without a battery or charger. Buying these from them would be an additional $300 or so. They would sell me "The American Package" everything I needed for an additional $600, (the camera was supposed to cost less than $300!). The model I was trying to order was also "not in stock" when I attempted to order it anyway. This company tells nothing but lies and attempts to sell by pressure since they know you have decided on this camera.
Victor also told me that there were seven different models of this camera. I really couldn't understand why or how Nikon would make seven different versons of the same model. The whole thing sounded very "fishy" to me, but I went ahead and ordered the camera anyway since I had an important event coming up that I wanted to use it at. I did some more checking around and still couldn't find an answer to my questions. I called and canceled the order since I decided to buy the camera from another store. It was more expensive, but still not as expensive as the model Prophotonation was trying to sell me a different camera for.
This company should be put out of business as soon as possible. I really don't understand how such a slimy company can be allowed to sell products to comsumers. From my experience, Prophotonation is a company that specializes in FRAUD! BEWARE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

These guys are 2-bit hustlers. They sell you shell, and then coax you into calling them. When you call, they try to talk you in to all sorts of extras, and use all sorts of jargony language to make you feel stupid. If you don't buy the extras, they announce that your camera is on back-order.
Scam...scam...scam...!!

Buyer Beware!!! These guys use the typical camera scam.. Quoted me a Nikon D700 for $1489.99 on their site, only no charger, no battery, no warranty, etc.. the bottom line is if you want the "Retail Package" Its $2256.00, this is after I already quoted my customer a price and now I have to take a loss on this order!!
