"I am highly dissapointed. I ordered a black giratina silicon skin for my ds, and pre-ordered a Venusaur battle scene figure. The figure was to be released at the end of the month. I waited, only to find it had been pushed forward another month. I waited one more month. The figures were popping up on ebay all over the place, yet on Play Asia it was still set to "to be released in June" It was baffling. I waited to the end of June, only to get an email saying it was to be released in July! The figure is already out and has been for many months! I emailed them, asking if this was just a mistake, only to get "sorry, we do not know the final release date of this item" I don't understand. Not only did I pay double what it's worth, but I could have bought it on ebay for a fraction of the price with shipping. I would use Play Asia as a last resort for an item, but I would NEVER pre order from there again!"
"The stock indicators on their website are really misleading, I made two orders specifically because some of the items I wanted were 24 hrs ship time and some were 5-15 days. It turned out the items that were in stock and ship in 24 hrs were actually not in stock and took over two weeks to ship. Customer service was not very helpful about this.
Once the items were shipped they were shipped via a cheaper method of shipping. To their credit though, they did refund me the difference in shipping cost."

"I've never ever went through anything like this in my life before, when ordering something from online. I have been told to becareful when I order things on the internet and it hit me, yes. It's been approximately 40 days since I made an order of 1 ps3 game from play-asia and I live in s.korea. I mean going through this for buying something for my very first time is pretty rediculius. I wrote to play-asia like 232976479246 times, but they just keep writing back saying "be paitence" C'mon it's been 40 days! I don't recommend anyone from s.korea ordering games from this site if you dont want to go through what I did. And btw I still haven't gotten my item yet from them.........Sad"

"It is been a month an haven't received my product yet. Very dissatisfied with this company. Disputing the charge now with American Express. I'm glad I just order something small so I wasn't burned for a lot of money."
"DO NOT USE THIS ONLINE STORE! It is a total scam. I ordered 2 games totalling $138 on Dec. 31st 2008. I received an e-mail that they were shipped on Jan 2nd 2009. I STILL HAVE NOT RECEIVED THE GAMES AND THEY ARE REFUSING TO REFUND MY MONEY! They respond to all my e-mails with the excuse that the post office is still checking it out. Do they really think we believe that it takes 8 months to check out if a parcel is missing or not. I am posting this warning on every possible site I can and have begun checking out the legal action I am entitled to take. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!"
"I've been using Play-Asia for around 3 years now, and while they were excellent in the first couple of years, the standards have dropped significantly over the past few months.
The story began when I placed a pre-order for Idolmaster for the DS in July 2009, with a release date set for September 2009. Later, I added another DS game to the order.
The September release date arrived and Play-Asia shipped my order out to me. While it took around 5 to 7 days in the past to get my goods, 14 days seems to be the norm nowadays.
Upon opening the package, I discovered that Play Asia had forgotten to ship Idolmaster along with the package, only giving me the DS game that I had added later (although now, I'd like to believe that they forgot), despite charging my card for both games.
I didn't think much of it as people do make mistakes. So I emailed them, and they said they would get new stock within a week from their supplier.
One week turned into one month, and one month then turned into two. Not a single word was heard from them. I emailed them again, and received the following message:
"I am very sorry for the delay in shipping your order. There is a sudden delay in restocking. We regret the restocking date is still not confirmed. We will try to get the stock and ship your order as soon as possible. If there are any news, we will contact you. For the time being, we kindly request for your patience."
Incidentally, another order of mine (a recently released guide book) at Play-Asia was also being delayed, and when I emailed them about the other order, I got the exact same reply.
Come on, Play-Asia. Not only are cut-and-paste messages a poor way of showing your sincerity towards your customers, do you honestly expect me to believe that a large, prominent company like yours, or your suppliers cannot get hold of a game which has only been out for 2 months? Or a book released just last month? Or give me a rough date of delivery instead of leaving me to wait in frustration? I'm beginning to wonder if you are serious at all about fulfilling my orders. Your suppliers must be shaking their legs at the warehouse.
A person would be an idiot to continue on with this after 5 months of waiting, but I do want to believe that they're working their hardest and give them the benefit of the doubt, since they've wowed me in the past with their service. But so far, they're not showing me that they're even trying."

"Sorry to be the dissenter, but I've thus far had a disasterous experience with this company. It's been a week since I ordered a PlayStation and three games that were all marked "Ships within 24 hours." None of them have shipped seven days later. I keep trading e-mails with them but only get form letters inserted with apologies in broken English. Also be aware that they have some strange verification procedure which required me to send copies of my driver's license and the front and back of my credit card to Hong Kong. That's more than a little worrying in these days of identity theft and fraud. So, I paid $368.80 for something that was supposed to ship in 24 hours and arrive 2-3 days later, but is now marked that it MAY ship on the 18th of August, almost 20 days later. I simply cannot trust this company. UPDATE: I received my items on the 11th of August -- 12 days after I ordered, and about a week late. Good thing I paid for 2-day shipping or who knows when I would have gotten it. It should also be noted that Play-Asia only started responding to my e-mails after I told them I was going to post a review on ResellerRatings.com"

PA is great when it comes to prices and items ship fast most of the time, although right now they're not being so helpful. As it is, it's the 3rd time I've had a problem with them out of the 24 times I bought something from the site.
I ordered a Capcom Design Works book from them and when the package came, it seems I got some Airgear hentai figure. I promptly took pictures and informed them of this, asking that they just reship my original order as I ship back the incorrect item.
They said that it was apparently out of stock. Which was untrue because up to this day the status of Capcom Design Works is "ships 5-15 days".
They offered store credit which I refused since it wasn't worth the trouble of having to send back the item and it possibly getting lost in the mail.
So I said that I'll just keep the missent item since I won't be able to get my original order anyway. Now they said that if I do that, I will be required to pay the difference of the missent item versus my original order. I refused since I don't want to lose any more money to make up for their mistake.
This is the time that they retracted what they said first and claimed to have Capcom Design Works in stock and will be able to ship it to me after I shipped the item.
I said that I will only be willing to send back or pay for the incorrect item after they send my original order because should the missent item get lost in the mail, then they may choose not to reimburse me.
I am wary of resending the item first because I lost a package just recently and Play-Asia took 3 months just to investigate the problem. Even their customer support supervisor said that sending through airmail is risky.
Anyway, the sad thing is that there are a few people they did not require to send back their missent items. I did a research online and even in their own forums, people weren't always required to send back the missent items. When I sent them an e-mail regarding this, that was the time that they agreed to ship Capcom Design Works first.
I just wish they would fix the way they sort items for delivery so that these things could be avoided and that they treat customers with unbiased, reliable and respectful customer service.
I feel like they were more concerned about recovering their missent package (which was only a difference of a few $ from my original order) rather than helping me get what I paid for, despite the fact that I was honest enough to notify them and was originally willing to send their item back.
Anyway, I am still waiting for them to send my original order. I hope things turn out well. __________________________________________
UPDATE: October 1, 2008
Since making my review last September 28, Play-Asia sent me an e-mail (September 29) informing me that they have decided to let me keep the incorrect merchandise and requesting me to update my review here to reflect the resolution of the problem.
PA does listen to its customers, however, not all customers get treated fairly. There are others who get duly compensated, no questions asked and there are others like me, who had to convince them for it.
In my case, I ordered an artbook, received a figure and saw that the Fedex box was labelled as "Video Games". Why was I treated like I was the one who caused a problem?
Having said this, it would be better to have some transparency to help customers in dealing with mistakes that the site makes. Whether it is that Play-Asia packed the wrong item, posted something that is long out-of-stock or misrepresented an item.
Indicating things like the number of days it takes to investigate a lost parcel or stating the options a customer can avail as compensation for a missent item would help improve customer support greatly.
The resolution for my case is satisfactory. However, the treatment I got while communicating with them is unacceptable. A customer should not have to convince a store to treat them fairly. And most importantly, a customer should not have to be the one to make up for a company's mistakes. This was a very stressful experience for me. I am just glad that it is over."
