Great Customer Service in a Difficult Situation
"I was unbelievably impressed by the service I received from Platinum Micro. I had to order Microsoft Office 2016, and ordered it off of Walmart.com. Platinum Micro's product was less expensive than any other retailer, and it shipped the same day I ordered the product key. The next day, I found out that I needed to cancel the order. Contacting their support team was very simple, and they responded promptly. They informed me that the order had unfortunately already shipped, provided the tracking number, and gave me detailed instructions on how to return the product once received. I sent the product back once I received it, and within a few days that Platinum Micro had received it back, my money was back in my bank account in full - and they didn't charge the restocking fee (which their return policy states that they have the right to). Overall it was a fast and easy experience. Their support team was very effective, quick to respond, and provided no hassle. I was very impressed."
"This company is absolute garbage, and it's apparent by the 1.x star rating. These idiots listed a laptop at a dollar on ebay, and I bought one. Because they're worthless and didn't want to own up to their mistake they acted as if they were going to ship it. What they actually did was just make a shipping label, and then they just didn't ship it. When I inquired about the package they immediately said 'oh, no activity they lost it in the mail sorry' which I knew was a lie. Of course with the intelligence of these jokers I bet they would believe that most people would fall for that. Dear Platinum Micro idiots, if you pull the same trick on multiple people it's no longer an anomaly, it's a pattern. "

"I ordered 15 Acer monitors from this outfit through Newegg.com. The description clearly stated that the monitors came with a VGA connector and a DVI connector. There were pictures as well. We ordered them for stock and they have been sitting for over 30 days (shame on me). When I went to install them I found they only had the VGA connectors. I went back on Newegg.com to verify and my order still showed VGA and DVI. Newegg representatives verified this as well and sent an e-mail on my behalf. Platinum Micro never responded and I got the run around. I finally called Platinum Micro myself. They asked me to send pictures. Magically overnight the Newegg link in my order changed to match what was sent to me. I was told via e-mail I received what was advertised. They would not respond to me again. When I got Newegg involved again, Platinum Micro simply stated it was past 30 days and they would not honor a return. Do not trust this outfit! Giving them one star would be an insult to one star reviews. "
"I ordered a hard drive through the Amazon.com site that was fulfilled by Platinum Micro. Delivery took 12 days from California to Connecticut and I was sent the wrong item. It was supposed to be a retail box drive with a longer warranty and Platinum Micro sent the OEM version of the drive which was covered by a shorter warranty. Return and refund was handled quickly and professionally, they get high marks for that part of the process. "
"Terrible! Ordered a Samsung SE-208DB/TSBS 8X Slim DVD+/-RW Slim USB External Drive (Black) from Amazon.ca. Showed new item in retail box etc. Arrived today in plain white cardboard box, no Samsung documentation for guarantee, no instruction booklet. Just the piece of hardware with loose usb cord attachment! Shocking and from what I now read about these guys, its not even worth trying to return it. With shipping, I am out over $50. Would not have expected this, ordering from Amazon."
"I have ordered from Buy.com twice for which Platinum Micro fulfilled the order. Both times I ordered 50 pack of hard drives and they arrived in record time in perfect condition new as described.I don't know why their RR ratings is so low. It must be that they only receive negative reviews on RR and not an assortment of negative and positive. I notice that with many reseller RR accounts. Only people with negative experiences seem to submit RR review and many merchants aren't promoting RR reviews so they don't receive the positives to dilute the negatives."
"Purchased a CPU heatsink/fan from Platinum Micro on Amazon Marketplace. No where in the description did it indicate that the installation was non-standard and required MB modification. Item is brand new, still sealed, but seller refused return per their fine print. Now I'm stuck with a new heatsink. Amazon won't do anything either. Worst experience in many long years of purchases on Amazon. A pox on both their houses."
"I made the mistake of purchasing an item from Platinum Micro through eBay. The item (cost $29.95) arrived DOA. I was told to get a refund I had to ship the item back at my expense. It cost me $11.99 return postage. Platinum Micro obviously has only one thing important to them - profit at the expense of their customers. In the future I will AVOID Platinum Micro at all costs."

They have fed me lie after lie ranging from their 'in stock' quantity to why they haven't shipped my item which they claim is 'in queue' still 3 days out..I've never dealt with any store like this on ebay and surprised they are still in business."

Thought I was ordering the PRO model with a secondary fan for cooling components around the CPU, description is vague. Package was opened enough to see contents. Asked for RMA and ordered the correct replacement. They billed my account for the new fan before responding to the RMA request. IF I pay return shipping w/tracking, they will credit my account 85% of purchase price upon receipt. 15% restocking fee. No exceptions as their policy is they do not accept returns period. Since I ordered the fan I really wanted they will do me a "favor/give me an exception" and allow a return. Slow shipping, it took a week from CA to TN, they used a combo of UPS and USPS, no tracking. shipped loose in box with no padding. Spoke to customer service and was stonewalled, "See our policy" I have used Amazon for several years and this is the first time I have encountered this situation. Will not deal with this vendor ever again, not worth the hassle. Be careful. I do not know if the fan works as advertised as it is still in the box while I decide if returning it is worth the problems. $30.30 fan minus 15% =$25.75. Add $10.83 UPS fee (or use the Post Office and never know if it was returned) $25.75 minus $10.83 = $14.92. Might as well keep it a paperweight... Not yet decided. "
"I ordered 6 items from amazon, 4 came from platinum micro and the other two came from another vendor. I placed my order before noon on saturday. Platinum didn't ship until I called them on Tuesday saying "it's scheduled to ship out today" (the other vendor shipped saturday and emailed me a tracking number within hours of the order being placed).They sent me a tracking number via amazon which didn't work. I finally did manage to receive the items but one was broken and they want me to pay to ship back the broken item. They never responded to my email asking if it was shipped yet, or that the tracking number didn't work.Seems like once they have your money their "care about the customer" goes down the drain.I don't believe they should have such a high BBB rating, maybe more people need to file claims to the BBB. They don't care about resellerratings.com but I bet they do care about BBB."
"Took 3 Days to ship... They told me that it was because they were "Verifying the shipping address". I'm sorry NewEGG does that in 20min. As a side note the address used is verified by the Credit Card Company.UPDATE:They sent me the wrong part, but were very quick to correct the problem and ship me the replacement without having to wait for my return to come in. On a good note, They carry most all Thermalright componits."
