As others have written, I placed an order for a Canon DSLR. Their website said it was in stock, but just to make sure I decided to call and verify since it was a new camera and I was needing it for a project within a week. Everything checked out so I placed the order. Well a few days later I get a call saying it's not in stock so my order will not go through. Plus they have no ETA when they will be in stock. Don't trust the websites, or the representative when they assure you an item is in stock.

At pictureline we do our best to ensure that the information on our website is complete and accurate. You ordered a Canon 7D from the first release. People from all over the country were calling in to place orders. On a high demand product like this, more than one order can come through online during the 5 minutes between updates. The update happened minutes after your order was placed. For that, we apologize.  
 
You stated that you called and spoke with a representative who said we had a camera in stock. We do take phone orders, but you did not place a phone order when you called. I would just like to note that the order was placed at 7:50pm on a Friday, which means the order was placed at least 2 hours after you called to confirm the product was in stock. With a high demand product such as this, we can sell out in a matter of minutes.  
 
Our web processing department is closed on the weekend. So, Monday morning a sales rep received your order and noticed the error. We called to speak with you immediately. At that time we stated that we would have more information about our next shipment and would call you in two days with a status, which we did.  
 
I feel we resolved the original issue with professionalism and accuracy. Your communications after delivery indicate that you are happy with the outcome of this order, since you thanked us for the camera on your last twitter post. Again, we apologize for the initial confusion, but are happy that we were able to complete your order and resolve this amicably.

> About two months ago I got every thing organized for a very large purchase of camera goodies. 5D mark II, 16-35L, 70-200L, 580EX II, tripod, filters, bag, battery grip, and some other things. Awesomeness. We were upgrading our equipment in a large way. I have been taking pictures since high school and am currently employed as a medical photographer at the University of Utah Neurosciences Center. The reason I tell you that is because after I gather all the information needed on what to buy the purchasing department takes over. I specifically told them that we need to buy all of this equipment from Pictureline because I know it's all there and they are great to work with. I have rented and purchased through you many times before.  
 
> Alright, this story is long and boring. Short story is that the purchasing department went with Inkleys. "Inkleys!!!" I yelled out. This is a joke and it is not a funny one. They did and they said it would be ready in a week. A week later we personally drove down to Inkeys to pick up some items. They didn't have every thing in yet but we did pick up the camera body and 16-35. I was pretty excited non the less for what we did have and I was told the other items would be in in a week. I left to the Tetons for some photography fun. Before I left I noticed that the UV filters were not B&W like I had ordered, the camera bag was not the bag I ordered, and the memory card was not the card I ordered. I called them and wanted to know why they switched things around with out asking. They said that they were equivalents but I know they aren't. Any way I had already used them in my excitement so returning them was more hassle than I could deal with. I thought to myself that the bag was probably too small for that 70-200 and all my other crap.  
 
> When I got back The 70-200 and battery grip still weren't in. I called down and wanted to find out why but the only answer I got was that they will call the warehouse and call me back. The call back never happened. Nor do they ever mention the battery grip.  
> Blah blah blah the last time I called about the lens and battery grip they said they were having problems with Canon so go some where else. It had been two months by now. Now the money movers listened to me and we put in the order for the lens and battery grip with Pictureline. I was happy and had faith that you all would pull through after such an ordeal. Of course you guys had the battery grip but the lens was on back order or not in stock but I was fine to give you a chance.  
 
> One week later I began calling, not to annoy but I was so stoked. I am sorry. Yesterday the 27th of August I called at 9:04 or some thing stupid like that to check but it was not in. Every time I had called in the person on the other line, whether it was Dave, or Berkley, or the lovely ladies, were so kind and patient with me. The best part is that they explained things to me on why it was so. I love that. Any way on the 27th at 9 it was not in. At 2:00ish I went home. I got a page from the hospital around 2:30 saying that some one was here at the OR front desk with a delivery for me. I squealed with delight and turned around.  
 
> Amazing! I was floored at how awesome this was that you would deliver it so fast, but I really shouldn't be surprised. So any way I got all my junk together in that crap bag Inkleys gave me and it did not fit. Or course. So this morning I came in and the money movers did there thing so I called Pictureline looking for a bag. I wish I could remember the ladies name who helped me on the phone but she was awesome. She went out and tried the bag out to see how much room was in there. I thought that was nice of her, even of she didn't I thought it was great.

A few friends and I took two classes (Canon Digital SLR Camera & Photography 201) from Pictureline in Salt Lake City in July.  
 
 
 
Our instructors (Sasha & Leslie)were fabulous. They took the time to really help us understand the basics and sometimes overwhelming concepts.  
 
 
 
We are hooked! Sasha even helped us create a photography club. We'll be coming back for more classes often!

I purchased my camera from pictureline before I went on vacation. I didn't know what camera would work best for me. When I got to the store, the sales staff took the time to find the camera that fit my needs instead of the camera the manager told them to sell that day. The person who helped me answered every question I asked and even some I didn't know to ask. I left pictureline understanding exactly how to use my camera. It doesn't matter who I talk to at pictureline, they are always ready to help and so knowledgeable. It is so nice to buy a camera from people who actually take pictures! I will be a customer for life.

I purchased InvisibleSheield protector for my Canon 50D series camera. When the shipment arrived on 17th, the protector was missing from the box. After e-mailing to sales@pictureline.com at 1:34pm, I received a response (from Sharon Taylor) at 1:42pm stating "We will get a replacement sent out today."  
 
In today's market, I have yet to see anyone do a better job of taking care of their customers.

They're really good when you spend thousands of $$$ in camera equipment. but when problems arise they will drop you and take any plea you make into a personally offending attack towards them. their return policy is ridiculously unfair and their post sale customer service is totally unprofessional. I have spent thousands of dollars in this store this year alone, but a simple incident of a simple return turned into personal matter that they took against me. So far all the positive comments here relate to sales and pricing and all of that but where are the positive reviews on returns and resolving problems like this one for example:

Great prices--competitive with any of the big stores like B&H, Adorama, etc...  
 
Customer service is awesome, on par with, if not better than B&H.  
 
Ordering was very easy, phone staff was very helpful.  
 
Shipping was fast and S/H rates are very fair.  
 
I highly recommend pictureline.com.

Very reliable and honest merchant. They were one of the first to have the Canon 5D Mark II and I find this is often the case. While buyers await the arrival of new cameras at many of the big Eastern Photo Stores, Pictureline often has the cameras available before these stores do. They have a good notification system and I was able to call and order this hard to get camera. While many merchants have long preorder lists, Pictureline has a great notification system which is both fair and insures that they only sell as many cameras as they actually have rather than lining up preorders that can't be filled for months. They are simply the best Professional Camera shop in the West. I am a professional wildlife photographer and am choosy about where I buy my equipment.

Unfortunately, I cannot give pictureline a positive review. Pictureline.com had a great price on an item i was looking for so I couldn't wait to make the order. I placed the order midday Friday. This was a time sensitive order for my son's birthday. Pictureline did not notify me until Monday that the item was out of stock. Their website obviously was not up to date either. I would not have known that the item was not available if i had not called them. On the call they said they would check with the manufacturer to see if they could get the product and the email or call me. I received no call and in fact had to call Pictureline to see what the deal was. They could not get the item. So at least 3 valuable shipping days were lost because of the lack of comunication and miscommunication on their website. I am disappointed with there service.

excellent service, I was waiting for this new canon printer to come out, ip4600, they had it availible, I spoke to Sharon who was very friendly and professional, had it ordered, and it was on my doorstep in 4 days including the weekend. I will be shopping with pictureline in the future!!!

This place has to be one of the best-kept secrets on the internet. I called on Friday to ensure the hard-to-find Nikon 70-200mm VR was really in stock. It was, I placed the order. Quick and painless. On Monday I get a voice mail saying they wanted to confirm my order. I thought uh-oh, hard sell ahead. Nope, they wanted to confirm my phone number to prevent credit card fraud and the order was going out today. I received my lens on Friday. Nothing to it!

I placed my order with pictureline.com later in the day on December seventeenth. Pictureline emailed me on the eighteenth to inform me had the order processed and provided me the shipping/tracking number. I received my purchase on the twentieth.  
 
My purchase arrived packaged very well and everything purchased was found to be in excellent condition.  
 
Pictureline.com prices are quite competitive (Very Good!) as are the shipping rates. They have a good inventory of items geared to the needs of photographers and many items are in stock.  
 
The web site is well done, safe and easy to use. The ability to click on more than one item at a time to add to the shopping care would be the only thing I might want to ask for, this is not a problem just slightly slows down the shopping experience. The search for items on the pictureline.com site is quick and gets you to where you need to be with ease!  
 
Overall, the experience from start to finish was great! I am very happy to have found a new source for my photographic needs and look forward to future shopping at pictureline.com!
