Hey Everyone,
Here's my mini review. This is completely unbiased and reflective of my service with them. As always, this will differ from person to person.
Overview:
In regards to work on consoles, I've seen my fair share of them. I've been to businesses, to independent sellers, and the two things most places lack are quality of workmanship, and the people to back it up. For those of you lucky enough, some might be asking if it's worth all the hassle to even deal with an independent seller like PhuongMods. That's especially true if all it takes is a trip down to your local Chinese mall to get a game shop to do the work for you. But as you will soon find out, the answer is yes. Sure, you can go to a Chinese mall and have a local game shop sell you the latest import games and a system, but what good is it if half the time it doesn't work?
The job:
PhuongMods is a good, reliable place to get your console modified. While PhuongMods provided a large range of services, their main staple is console modifications. While most places concern themselves with the speed of work, and turnaround, PhuongMods does not. Naturally, they try to make work as fast as possible, but they won't cut corners to do it. If it means waiting for a proper set of soldering equipment, to replacing potentially bad chips, PhuongMods is upfront about the delays, and is more than happy to elaborate about them. This is especially good for technically inclined individuals who don't have the equipment to do the job themselves, but still want a quality job done.
Warranty:
Unlike most places, at PhuongMods warranty doesn't start and stop as soon as money changes hands. Like any reputable place, they try their best to make sure a quality job is done right the first time. But should any unforeseen complicates arrive (In life, they inevitably do), PhuongMods is happy to work with you to resolve the issue as fast as possible. All subsequent work is free of charge, and they are upfront and honest about symptoms and problems. As an example, I have had two consoles that exhibited operational issues. One had a wire that became ajar due to epoxy not drying completely, and another appears to have a soldering issue where excessive heat causes it to separate from the main board (those wires are so tiny you know). Looks like a big problem? Nope! I just bring the effected machines back and PhuongMods will service them as soon as possible!
Overall:
In general, getting your Console modified in any way can be daunting for those who don't know anything about them. So when you do, make sure you get something that lasts the life of your machine, and is guaranteed to work! If you're looking for a good place to get your console modified in the Ottawa area, give PhuongMods a try. I believe most people won't be sorry.
