I would only give a "fair" rating. The sales prople are kind but I do not know if the information they gave me are correct or not. I ordered a canon 7D body. On the website it tell you that it include one year warranty. Two days later, I got an e-mail that want me to make a call to confirm the order (whitch is good I think, to avoid fraud). I call them, they ask me if I want to upgrade the battery to 1 hr battery or 4 hour battery. They say the battery Canon include only last 30 min. Can you believe that!! Can a 30 min battery shot about 800 pics?? (unless canon is lie to us and all the review report from others all lie to us). Then they ask me if I want to extend my warranty to 1 year. Wait a minute, the website already mention it include 1 year warranty, but the sales person insist it only include 90 days warranty because a import product, not US model. I know all the import product usually come with only 90 days warranty but on the website did not mention that and they put 1 year warranty on it without any note. They also do not mention if it is a import product. The last thing I want to complain is about the total price they want to charge me. They did not mention the handling charge fee until the last minute. I think that is the reason they have to contact you again becuase the "Total price" when you order online is not the "total price" at all. Anyway, I cancel the order, and they do not have any issue to do that. Maybe becuase I did not do many online shoping so I got this bad feeling. But, at least not like ohter company, they just give you a wrong product and have you a harder time. This company just does not put all the information correctly and hide a little. Therefore, I would say I may give them 5 or 6 rating if the total is 10. Oh! by the way, their price is still good, just not that good anymore after you call them and confirm the order.(about 15% raise of the original price you saw on the website)

Ok - So I was shopping around for the Canon EOS 7D. Photoloon advertised a very good price (body only) at 1,369.00 on their web site. Elsewhere about 1,700.00 (body only).
So I ordered from Photoloon. The total charged to my card was 1,482.00 - a 113.00 difference in the advertised price, and I stated I only want the 1,369.00 package. Reggi, the phone clerk said it was handling fees.
I asked for the USA model. I know there must be black market versions but I will be examining the serial numbers to verify that its a USA model.
Still, the price was quite a bit lower than the other companies so I ordered the camera. I checked to see if my credit card had been charged, and it has been. I will update this when or if, the camera arrives in the 10 days they stated and if its a USA serial number. This review was modified by its author, ghostcar, on

Don't buy from this store ever. They have a very bad customer service and pushy sales representatives. You have to know that couple times I have to wait about 10 minutes at least to wait for the customer service. I feel I got ripped of and I don't want any of you experiences the same like I did. I can't return the product because they will charge 10% restocking fees at least so I will def lose more money. First, they advertised canon 5d mark ii for $ 2349 so I felt attracted. But the sales person forced me with a very loud voice to buy packages with all the crappy equipments otherwise I can't get the US warranty. I ended up paying $ 2999 because I didn't know what brand they were going to give to me for all the crappy accesories and overcharged insurance from CPS (for electronic equipment worth under $3000) for $ 399. (if you buy directly from CPS, it's worth only about $100 for 3 years)
I really didn't know I thought the package's worth my money but no..
The sales person's name is James.
So, after received the product, I emailed this to customer service:
Dear James,
This is my order number 509460. I have received all the products today by FedEx. Thank you for being attentive and providing fast shipping. This is my concern:
The LP-E6 Long Lithium Ion Battery and Charger you sold to me was stated on the website for 249.95 and I found on Amazon.com:
http://www.amazon.com/Zeikos-ZE-LPE6BC-Charger-Battery-Canon/dp/B00275G122/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1256357393&sr=8-1
Exactly, the same product for $ 27.18 and I think it's just overcharged. Other products are also treated the same way by PhotoLoon.
But, most importantly, this Zeikos for Canon LP-E6 has a lot of trouble to be put in my canon 5d mark ii's battery slot. It doesn't fit the slot..it caused jammed.
So, I really wanna exchange this replacement battery at least with a genuine CANON LP-E6 battery or please at least give me a Zeikos' battery grip so I could use this battery. What kind of solutions are you going to solve in regards of this problem? If I return this, it is already opened but it just doesn't work with the camera.
The other question is what kind of extended service plan are you going to have for me? is that authorized extended warranty issued by Canon?
FYI:
Transcend 8GB ultra speed 133x $25.78 (http://www.amazon.com/Transcend-TS8GCF133-Ultra-Speed-Compact/dp/B000W05O5O)
Zeikos Camera Bag $ 11.99( http://www.amazon.com/Zeikos-ZE-CA58A-Deluxe-Medium-Camera/dp/B001T9N11Q/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1256357896&sr=1-4)
Mack 3 Year Digital Camera Extended warranty $99.95 (http://www.adorama.com/IMXW89.html)
I still feel like it's a rip-off to me as a customer. As if the price is $ 2700 for the body itself in other big stores (such as Adorama, Best buy, etc). Other things do not worth the other $300. I ended up paying lots of money by other things you sold to me that are not worth the money. Can you make a price adjustment for me? or at least, give me other things that is really worth my money. Otherwise, I would consider to return these and buy from other site.
So, they decided to change the battery with the original battery that's worth about 60 dollars from Amazon.
It's still I don't think they really do a fair business with you.
I recommend to buy from other reliable sites like Adorama or Amazon because at least, what you see is what you get. There's no hidden motives to get more money from you. This guys are really tricky.
The only better customer service is Thomas.
Please avoid this website I tell you. I regret my decision to buy from this guys.
If I buy from adorama, with the same product and accesories..I might be able to save about 200 dollars...but I was really stupid..don't get fooled, people
Thank you for your attention.

I bought Nikon D300s. Every week they say it will be shipped but the result is when I call they postpone it to the next week. I wonder if as they say they are buying from one Vendor (Nikon) why can't they tell one date. Most horrible experience. Since past 4 weeks I haven't got anything just talking to fake representatives.

I purchased a Nikon D5000 at the best price I could find online, with the best shopping experience and the best customer service.
The camera arrived when I was promised and all items were safely packed. Some of the items were recommended by the sales person and I was thankful for it-just like having my personal shopper.
I called with questions and I received excellent customer care. I am still working my way to taking photographs like a pro but that is my problem.... This review was modified by its author, ccristei, on

I recently bought Nikon D3000 from PhotoLoon.com. I asked for free shipping, got the camera in 10days.
I did not get the free cam bag and cleaner as advertised. I called the customer care about it, did not have to wait long. I guess there was some problem with delivery, they promised to ship it again with FeDex. customer care guy (Rodney) was very helpful and pleasant and helped me well with the order. This site is selling the camera for the cheapest price.

I placed an order for a $574 camera. "Free" shipping but you have to pay for "handling and insurance". I was called directly after the sale by Victor telling me it would be $40 for handling/insurance with FedEx and we worked out that I could pay $25 for USPS and handling/insurance. So, total would be $574+25=599. I then received an invoice for $657. I emailed them to let them know the correction should be made. 7 days later, still no word from them, so I called. After 45 minutes on the phone, (being on hold/talking/on hold/etc) I was told the price of the camera had gone up since I purchased the camera and I was being charged the price CURRENTLY on the website ($26 more expensive) plus a higher-cost for handling/insurance. That was $58 MORE than what I agreed to pay for.
I canceled my order and will be watching carefully over my credit card bill to ensure that they don't have some bizarre "cancellation fee" -- even though they told me there shouldn't be a fee b/c it hadn't shipped out yet.
I will NEVER EVER buy from them again.
Terrible experience and DISHONEST pricing. This review was modified by its author, amyand, on

I found the Photoloon website while researching the Canon 7D SLR. I was very skeptical of the low pricing so I gave them a call to be certain there were no hidden costs.
I talked with Allen, the SLR sales rep who was very knowledgeable. I asked him if this was an import or USA model, he said they sold both. I got his USA model price. He tried selling me compact flash cards and extra battery, service agreement and various shipping methods. After getting his price for an additional Canon battery I added that to my order. Gave him a credit card number after he guaranteed delivery by the following Friday (one week).
I telephoned their Customer Service number and after being on hold for 14 minutes I hung up. I called again and talked with Allen, I wanted to know if the camera had shipped today (Monday). During our conversation I asked why I wasn’t emailed an invoice. He said their email to me was returned. He asked if I was sitting at my computer, which I was and he said, “I’ll email you a different way. I received it within a few seconds.” He told me I would receive an email when the camera shipped, which I received later the same afternoon (Monday) with a FedEx tracking number.
The camera arrived on Thursday with the exact camera and additional Canon battery I ordered.

The Nikon camera and lens were delivered after only a couple of days delay for which they compensated me with a free UV filter. Camera and lens are exactly as ordered and Photoloon was good about contacting me about the delay and keeping me informed about the process. Overall I was very satisfied with my purchase.

Originally very excited to getthe Sony A-380 at such a great deal, but finally had to cancel order, as even though the website says it is in stock, it is not.
Poor communications, and was even promised by Victor that I would get one in less than a week.
Haved no plans to do business again with this company. Had to pay more, but I am getting the camera at another dealer
Be sure to call and make sure what you want is in stock.

I had been searching for a digital camera and my research steered me to get a Nikon D-40 as a good place for a novice digital photo taker. As I need to transition to my very reliable 35mm film camera and move into this century.
At one of the sites that reviewed different digital cameras there was a link to photoloon and I decided to do another price comparison. I was blown away at the package they had available and the price.
I sent it to friends that were much more familiar with the product to review and let me know their thoughts. All I heard was "Get it". And so I did.
The customer service has been great from the start. They have responded to all questions whether by phone or email.
I highly recommend checking out the site for your photography needs and compare to other sites. You can't beat the customer service and the prices may surprise you too.

I went to PhotoLoon based on a web search for the camera product I wanted. This was a new camera on the market and as such a seemingly popular one, so finding a supplier that had any stock available wasn't easy. Not only did PhotoLoon have the stock available but they also offered a discount on the recommended retail price! On top of that, they had a promotional offer - which sealed the deal.
I ordered online and the camera was shipped and delivered within the timeframe stated on the order - which makes me a very happy customer.
The only downside to the experience was that, for whatever reason, I did not get any online/email confirmation when I had placed the order. However a quick call to their excellent customer service team had confirmed that the order was indeed placed and in their system.
I have no qualms in recommending PhotoLoon and will certainly be happy to go back to them for further purchases.

I recently ordered a Nikon D5000 camera and 18-55 mm Lens kit from Photoloon. After a great deal of searching I found that they had the best price anywhere. The camera was $100.00 less than anywhere else. Of course the price included tax and shipping (typical for an on line order) but they also offered a free promotional kit including a camera case, a tripod and lens cleaning kit.
I placed the order online on a Friday and a few day later Photoloon contacted me by phone advising that they do not accept AMX, the initial credit card I used. This delayed the order a couple of days.
During the call the salesman offer to sell me a couple of accessories which when I refused he politely accepted. I'd like to point out that I never experienced any of the problems that have been mentioned on some of the reviews such as a "bait and switch" tactic or demands that I add shipping insurance to insure proper delivery.
When I received my camera I discovered that the promotional items were not included. I contacted Photoloon and reached Rodney in the Consumer Care Department who was very helpful. He assured me that I would receive the promotional items stating that they normally don't send them out until the return period expires. He then followed up with an email.
I would definitely order from Photoloon again. Can't beat their prices anywhere. And I think, at leas for me, the customer service was fair and reasonable.

On 10/30/2009 I ordered a Canon 7D, a 15-85mm IS USM and a 70-300mm IS USM lens from Photoloon, a New Jersey company. On Monday 11/2/2009, Victor from Photoloon called me and informed me that they were having trouble with American Express and needed me to use a MasterCard or Visa instead. I told Victor that the website had no problem accepting my American Express. He apologized and said they were "negotiating a better rate with American Express". I gave him a Visa number and then he proceeded to tell me the battery that comes with the camera lasts only 30 minutes and did I want the 3 hour or 5 hour battery (for an extra charge of course). I told him I would go with the battery that comes with the camera and research batteries later. Next he wanted me to buy and extended warranty because the manufacturer does not offer a warranty. I told him that Canon would not sell a digital camera without an industry standard warranty. He said this camera does not come with one because it is not a US retail camera. I've read that the non-U.S. versions of digital cameras do not come with a warranty. I told him that his website did not disclose this very important information. I told him to immediately cancel my order. At this point he says alright and then immediately hangs up on me. Based on the lack of full disclosure, the pressure sales tactics and the abrupt end of the call, I would rate this vendor a 0 on a scale of 1 to 10. In addition, I want to warn everyone that in my opinion, this vendor is not a reputable vendor. I will be monitoring my credit card to ensure a charge for this camera does not come through. BEWARE OF PHOTOLOON!!
11/3/2009 update: A Customer Care rep named Rodney called me to inform me that the sales rep I dealt with was put on review (not quite sure what that means). He also asked me what I would recommend photoloon do to regain my business. I stated that photoloon should make it abundantly clear if a customer is buying a U.S Warranted product or an import with no usable warranty for each product they sell. He said he would fix this immediately. Before we finished our conversation, his website technician had put this information on the website (which means that had this information to begin with). I commend Photoloon for taking this immediate first step. This action does not change the facts I reported with respect to the sales rep. Sales reps that lie should be terminated, not "put on review". If he lied to me, he has lied to many customers and it is unlikely he will change his ways if it affects his compensation. The immediate action on warranties does give me some level of confidence that Photoloon takes customer concerns seriously. I may do business with them in the future, but only for the purchase of U.S. Warranted merchandise. The Canon 7D I wanted to buy, does not fall into this category. This is a company with a beautifully deceptive website. After looking like a legitimate company, it has become obviously clear that the best descriptor for Photoloon is "sheisty." I am appaled at the lack of customer service, the 45 minute wait times on the phone to try to talk to someone, and the utter lack of prompt shipping. I am wholly offended by their practices, and have filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau.
