"DO NOT BUY LIVE ANIMALS ETC WITH PAYPAL.Paypal is crap and trying to extort money. My credit card company ruled the case in my favor when a seller sent me the wrong items. Paypal limited my account and WONT MAKE IT GOOD UNTIL I RETURN THE MONEY TO THEM THAT MY CREDIT CARD COMPANY RETURNED TO THEM. Seems like paypal does "money extortion"."
"I reported JJS house to paypal and they emailed me when I was on holiday and told me I had 2 weeks to respond, well I couldn't, and they stuck to that. They eventually said they'd give me a partial refund if I could find the tracking details but as I'd read it had been delivered to China I disposed of it. They said tough luck and even refused to answer my emails. I then found the receipt but still tough luck. "They hold your refunds for several days if they do not make a commission on the transaction. Might as well just a debit/credit card for non Ebay purposes. Called their call center and asked if there were additional holds on my account, which there were none. At first the representative gave me a BS excuse of how much time it takes for funds to get transfered. I called him out on this BS. Got the representative to admit that they were holding my money to buy short term paper so they can make interest from my refund. Do not use Paypal to pay for things you can use your credit/debit card for. "
"Horrible customer service! I ordered one pair of jeans during a 20% off sale on ae.com and the order didnt go through so the next day I tried to redo the transaction and of course the sale was no longer going on and I was a little irritated I had to pay $15 more for same item whatever I bought it using my Paypal then I check my Paypal and they charged me twice for the higher amount!!! Ive been calling ae.com along with PayPal and originally I was told I would be refunded in 24 hours then I called back and they said 48 hours still no $ I called back today and now Im being told I have to wait 10 business days to be refunded neither company really cared or even apologized for the inconvienence so I have paid $100 for 1 pair of jeggings that should have originally cost $35 this is my first time buying at ae.com and surely will be my last!! "I never had issues so far with paypal and I hope I won't either. My belief is that if you are fair and use Paypal as it was intended and not for some kind of scams and if you stay clear of clicking any kind of link that direct you to Paypal and instead you just manually enter their address in your browser, then you are safe and you will not loose you money. "
"I bought a new computer or so I thought. In part because they accepted Paypal, so I believed I was protected. The computer was BROKEN, and NOT AS ORDERED. Seller disputes neither of these facts. I filed a claim after weeks of trying to resolve with the seller. Paypal never contacted me. The claim was "resolved in my favor" but I was only refunded $1000 of the $1430 purchase price. Now Paypal is non-responsive. So if you buy a broken ANYTHING, count on losing money. Paypal's guarantee is a bald faced lie."

"Another dissatisfied PayPal user here. After four years of buying and selling on eBay they held my account and kept my balance. I could not get any explanation or help. I went to withdraw my balance and that locked my account. Now they refuse to return my money and won't explain why. They said that they don't know why it locked my account but there is nothing they can do. They suggested I email in six k the to see if they can return my money to me. PAYPAL DEFRAUDED ME!"
"My account was FROZEN one day with no explanation. All I had done was sold a lamp on eBay and shipped it to the customer who was happy. Then my account becomes frozen and my $500 balance is gone. PayPal said it happens sometimes and they can't fix it. Are you serious? They just get to keep all of my hard earned money. The so called supervisor was giggling with her friend in the background.I will never shop on eBay again and will never use Paypal. eBay is a part of PayPal.Very disappointed!!"
"They mistreated me on a huge level. I made a payment on my new apartment since they accepted Paypal. PayPal then froze my account and kept the more than $300 I had in there. The reps were rude and of no help. PayPal is just bad with what they do."
"Wow, I am shocked at all the poor reviews for Paypal. Maybe I am just lucky, but Paypal has served me well for many years. I do a lot of buying and selling and I use the Paypal Debit Card for virtually everything. I have a mail theft issue where I live and occasionally I will not receive something I have paid for--meaning between delivery and me checking the mail, someone get to the mail before me and steals my mail. Starting mid November (pre holiday season) I just have all my mail held and pick it up every 10 days or so. Anyway, Paypal has always reversed the charges for me and credited my Debit Card back. I have never had my account frozen (knock on wood). I love the service and hope it continues!!Caveat: The invoice number is my last transaction since I cant leave it blank. I have used Paypal for over 8 years."
"I had used Paypal for more years than I can count. Then one day I purchased a remote for my TV on ebay after my dog chewed it up. It was a used remote and only a few dollars and I paid with my Paypal. Then I get an email that Paypal froze my account. I figured it was a mistake so I called Paypal and spoke with someone who couldn't help. Then I was transferred to a supervisor who was very immature. When she was done laughing because Paypal had all my funds frozen (over $130) from things I sold around my house on ebay just before I moved, she just thought it was funny and wouldn't release my money. Now I have looked online and found complaints everywhere about people going through what I did. Paypal will not return my balance nor tell me why the purchase froze my account. They have my money and that isn't right. I'm through with buying on ebay now and certainly done with Paypal. Now it's just a matter of spreading the word so others don't get taken by Paypal as I did."
"Paypal just saved me about $2k. Placed an order with Abe's of Maine for washer and dryer and later found they had gone into bankrupcy, not shipping or issuing refunds. Luckly I had used PayPal and they promptly credit my card. second time PayPal has saved me from loosing money from online vendors. "Several years ago I opened an account with PayPal. I used them several times with no problems since the product I purchased was delivered and as advertised. Them I ordered a product using PayPal since PayPal stated that they would help me with any purchase I had problems with and would help correspond with the seller with me. The item I ordered was never shipped but my credit card was charged full price. After repeated attempts trying to get the seller to communicate, I notified PayPal to assist me. Their solution was for me to try again to get the seller to correspond with me and that if that failed they would contact the seller on my behalf. Again I attempted to correspond with the seller and when that failed I notified PayPal. They claimed they tried to get the seller to correspond with them but the seller refused to communicate with them even. Their suggestion was to choose to use their arbitration to settle the problem so I filed a claim with their arbitrator by email. Immediately I received a email response that stated that they do not handle this type of complaint and that they were closing my complaint on that basis and there was no way to contest their decision. I immediately closed my PayPal account and will not to this day use them. If a seller insist on using PayPal, I just go to a different seller. I feel their claims to help settle accounts are bogus and misleading."
