"DISREGARD EVERY LAST POSITIVE THING SAID ABOUT THIS COMPANY.
I don't even know how to begin describing the pain, heartache and frustration that this company has caused me. In January I ordered a motherboard, CPU, and case (and a few other small items) from this site. Looking back at how hard it was to successfully place the order, I don't know why I went through with it.
Not one person that I have talked to at this company speaks fluent English -- including the supposed owner, “Sam” -- and it was obvious from a phone conversation that the sales reps know next to nothing about computers (one rep, Jenny, struggled for more than five minutes trying to describe what most people simply call an internet browser).
It is my personal opinion from experience and from a conversation with another past customer (Gr8ful on epinions.com – read his review, I believe it’s all true) that this company is not only in the habit of selling used and defective merchandise, but they do so knowingly and with the intent of avoiding all responsibility for doing so. The RMA process is a nightmare, they refused a full refund, and at the end of mine they claimed that the motherboard, case and various other items were used and broken. Yeah, that's about right, but ONLY because they arrived that way.
I believe that this company will do everything in its power to screw you when (AND YOU WILL) have a problem with your merchandise. If you are smart, you will get everything they have to say in writing because I was promised many things over the phone that were never followed through, i.e. a replacement CPU fan from AMD (mine was destroyed before arrival).
Until recently, this company had an ‘F’ rating with the Better Business Bureau (the lowest score), and how they have anything other than that now is beyond me.
In a fax to my credit card company, this company actually had the audacity to say that it was UNETHICAL for me to ask for a refund since I had the parts in my possession for more than three months. The sole reason that I did so was because they REFUSED to cooperate in a professional and timely manner and I eventually was instructed by American Express to simply send the parts back and let them handle it. I still have not received a full refund, but I am far from quitting. If I do not receive a full refund (every last dime), I will make it my personal crusade in life to make sure people know about this company’s business practices if I have to hire planes to write it in the sky.
Even the owner was nasty to me, stating that he sees no reason to work with me because I threatened them. There were no threats sent to this company by me, ever. I’m smarter than that.
If for some reason you choose to still order from this company, make sure you also register your email address (the same one you used to order) at Pricewatch.com. This is where I found this company and I ordered based upon the positive feedback. It has come to my attention, however, that my email address was registered at Pricewatch with a password that I don’t use (I have no clue what it is and the ‘forgot password’ links don’t work). The only way to register and leave a comment about a reseller is to supply an email address and the order number. Since only two parties, myself and this company, would have had access to this information, I believe that they registered my address and posted positive feedback about themselves. If you look at their positive feedbacks, you can see the same poor English that I encountered and all of the posts are virtually identical. Also, none of the negative feedback on this site was left by me, and I can guarantee that I would not have left any positive feedback. The epinions.com reviewer, Gr8ful, also had the same experience. Pricewatch.com used to be a good site, but I have since discovered that it has changed hands and I believe that they knowingly allow this sort of fraud to run rampant on their site. I tried unsuccessfully to contact somebody at Pricewatch about this matter (I had to use a WHOIS search just to find a contact address as there is absolutely no contact information on their site, only a complaint page that sends the complaint directly to the reseller in question).
In conclusion, save yourself time, pain, money and sanity and avoid this company at all costs. I think these people are crooks and I am currently planning on reporting these people to the proper authorities if I do not get a full refund. Unfortunately for them, they have insulted and offended me and I have too much free time on my hands. If this matter does not come to a satisfactory conclusion – the only one being a full and complete refund – I will continue my quest to enlighten the world about their business practices. STAY AWAY!"
"I ordered a Mobo, CPU and memory combo. After installation, my machine kept rebooting. I ran Memtest, as well as microsoft's memory test software. The dimms failed both tests. So I sent the memory back. They charge you for the return shipping even if they sent you defective merchandise. The replacements came, and the exact same thing happened again. Did they just return what I had sent???? Upon further research, I discovered that this has happened to others. I gambled and lost. Beware. "
"This shop is selling high density PC100 chips on ebay as low density hoping they are compatible. When you find out they are not they give you the option to pay more for their premium brand (which also is high density).
All low density PC100 256MB SODIMMS will have 16 chips. There is no option for different capacities like other memory and either PartsPC knows this and is exploiting that or simply clueless yet doesn't want to stand behind their own mistake.
I was told I'd have to send the memory back by TRACKABLE carrier and in a box when I was sent the memory in an envelope. I was also told they get 15% to restock this per their RMA policy. This wasn't an RMA due to my error though...it was 100% their fault. It says low density in the auction several times, I was told it was low density ram prior to the purchase.
THIS IS A SCAM...they do have other deals but this company is not running ethically. I was promised in the end I'd get 100% of my purchase back but I'd cover shipping...well they just credited me $.87 cents short for the transaction fee. So basically they lost nothing and I am out $8 on a $25 purchase."
"Buyer Beware! Quick shipment on a DEFECTIVE product. I tested the 1 GB PC2700 in 3 computers and no luck. I then took it in to a local computer store and the guy tested it and it didnt work their either. I sent numerous emails without response on replacing my defective RAM. I understand they are busy but I wanted to confirm they had received my email before my return window was gone. After doing some research and finding this page I decided to call. Guess what, the same complaint as most people on this site. They said they would email me my 3 options, which I already know them from reading here. Each will require me to pay them more money to replace, test or give me a refund for a defective product I paid for. I offered to come to their store which is 40 miles away but they didnt want any part of that. They told me they would email me instruction on how to return this. Im sure it will be a long process and not worth my time for the 36 bucks. Im very lucky I didnt have to spend as much as most to learn this painful lesson. "

"Their Customer service is a mess. My order was cancel because they claim my zip code is incorrect. I called and correcet the error and the order was process. The following day I got an email confirmation stating the corection and confirmation of the order. The next day I got a cancel order email again. I call them and talk to the manager- did not really understand him but he said "he will do me a favor" by talking to the accounting dept. 48 hrs later the order got cancel again. I placed the order in 11/31 and now I am giving up and let the order cancel. Do not do business with them."
"I purchased a new 1GB PC3200 DDR400 Memory which there ad on e-bay said would work with my chipset k8t800. They sent me a High density module instead of the low density one I needed. Just like the rest of the complaints below I got the e-mails about the 3 options. So I suggested option #4:because it was there fault. They should pay for shipping both ways and exchange the memory for the proper one. Of course they said it wasn't possible and said I'd have to pay an additional $38.71 to get the low density memory. So much for there Lifetime Warrenty!! After 10 days of e-mails and not getting anywhere I give up. This outfit is clearly a scam and should be put behind bars. Don't trust them. Just read the comments below. I will never purchase from them again."
"bought 1 stick of cheap ram, they web site says it supports my motherboard. Doesn't receive any confirmation/shipping emails at all.
Received ram in timely fashion. Tried it, it doesn't work (shows 512mb). Sent 3 emails back (1 day apart) and finally received a response.
They said that my motherboard doesn't support high density ram, so they're willing to send me low density (guarenteed to work) ram for 33 dollars more including shipping. I went on their site... Saw the exact same ram to 10 dollars more and emailed them this finding. They said okay, send 13 dollars for replacement ram. Still waiting for ram.
Here is their exact words:
> We also get frustrated customers who mention their 1GB module is showing >as >512MB only and in every case memory has been working fine. If a motherboard >is NOT compatible, it will show that you only have 512MB Memory or >sometimes >even less. > > Don't worry I will take care of you. You have three options: > > Option 1 > > If you wish an exchange for right module, I DO GUARANTEE LOWEST PRICE AND >make sure you get RIGHT COMPATIBLE MODULES. It is jungle out there if you >are looking for right module, and I promise to take care of you by being an >honest and right guide. > > For compatible memory, I have a MicroX / Buffalo brand which would be the >right choice. They are the same company who make modules for major >companies >and is FAR cheaper than them, also offers a lifetime direct warranty and >excellent reputation with at the right price point. > > If you need correct, compatible module, this option is the best one. >Compare the price and please compare apple to apples. This is NOT OEM or a >Generic brand that I am recommending, but a certified hassle free solution. > >You had paid, $47.00 USD for High Density Memory on the auction, but that >is >not the right modules you for, so for right type of module - Low Density, >EACH module would cost $ 77.50 USD > >UPGRADE to compatible Hassle Free - Certified Low Density 1GB PC3200 Memory >- It will cost you an additional $33.50 USD (Price includes Return shipping >of $3 back to you).
After finding out that a they're selling the same ram for $57 on their site (free shipping), this email made me really angry.
Just the way they try to sound helpful but really tried to rip you off is terrible.
"Will not send you motherboard unless you by extra staff like floppy drive CD ROM mouse. I was waiting almost two weeks to get my part from PartsPC.COM but was forced to cancel my order. The same problem I had with BZBOYZ.COM Don’t buy from them !!!! "
"Very very unhappy with PartsPC.com. I had to contact PartsPC.com to even process my order. Then a PartsPC.com representative tried upselling me other products/upgrades. Finally, I paid for the overnight shipping with expedited service (yeah right, I had to call PartsPC.com to even get the order processed)... and then PartsPC.com blames DHL for what is more than likely their shipping method mistake. So now my package did not arrive on time. I am not placing another order with PartsPC.com again."
