Provantage is one of my preferred vendors. Decent prices, fast and efficient processing. Ordering hard drives, UPS batteries, rack PDUs and server power supplies, they have always left me satisfied.

After reading some of the reviews here, it was with considerable trepidation that I ordered a Sony Bravia KDL-32S5100, at a price significantly lower than could be found anywhere else. I feared great complications because the unit was going to a third-party (albeit registered with my credit card company), or that they really didn't have them available, or that it would take an extended national tour before arriving at its destination.
I am pleased to say that none of the above happened. The unit was ordered online late Thursday afternoon and no sales person called to sell me overpriced cables or extended warranties, and no credit person called to deny the transaction. It was shipped FedEx Ground from Pennsylvania Friday evening, and it did not visit Ohio first.
The package arrived at the local FedEx Saturday, and if it had not been Saturday, it would have arrived then. Instead, it arrived the next business day, and it's perfectly fine.

This is my first time ordering from Provantage. I originally tried to purchase a Canon 24-105 L from Beach Camera but their website "had an error" (i.e., they lied) about the lens being in stock. After finally getting the truth, I canceled the order and found Provantage. Not only was the price competitive (yes, a little more) but they actually told you how many they had in stock. Now, they are not as well informed on all their products, but they did deliver exactly as promised which is a lot more than I can say about the lousy service and treatment I received for the same lens from Beach Camera.

I ordered a glass TV stand from them. Their price + shipping on this stand was the lowest I could find on the internet. The stand + box weighed 83 lbs and was shipped by Fedex. Even though it was shipped from only one state over from me the box looked liked it had been dragged from Alaska. The box was delivered open on one end. I was not home when it was delivered or I would have refused delivery. By some miracle, since the 3 glass shelves were protected by only 1/4" styrofoam, they were not broken, but there were scratches on the shelf frame.
First a package this heavy should have been delivered by freight NOT Fedex, and due to the poor packing should have been double boxed by Provantage or their vendor.
Two emails to Provantage stating the above have gone unanswered.

ProVantage consistently delivers name-brand products at a great price, on-time and no-hassle. As a ProVantage customer, I check their web site first for all my companies' computer needs.
This order for Wireless Access Points arrived on-time and as expected.

I probably have had hundreds of online shopping experience but never had this kind of bad experience. It takes FOREVER for them to ship, it takes FOREVER to receive it, it takes FOREVER to cancel it and it takes FOREVER to get your money back. WHAT A HASSLE!
NEVER EVER again!

ProVantage has always been top notch. Good pricing, easy to navigate the site, it is always quite clear
as to whether the item is in stock or not. I always check ProVantage first.

This item was ordered on 5-10-09 but not shipped until 5-21-09. It is now 6-4-09 and I have yet to receive it. I emailed them with no response and they won't answer when I call customer service. WHERE IS MY ITEM PROVANTAGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I knowingly placed an order for a Sony-Z Vaio Laptop on backorder. I received an order confirmation via email from PROVantage and an additional email from my online banking account alerting me that a $1.00 charge had been made to my card. Soon after, however, I received an email from a PROVantage rep saying that my card information did not match the info I supplied in the order form. Strange... you billed my card...
He simply asked for my phone number for verification purposes. I apologized, and gave him my phone number, making certain it was correct this time (I'm sure it was correct the first time) and assured him my information was correct and could verify any/all of it.
The next day I received another email that explained how my order could not be completed due to a discrepancy with the information I provided. Mind you, I order soooo many things online on a regular basis. I supply this information all the time. Doesn't everyone more or less know his or her own personal info like the back of their hand? I know I do, and I didn't really appriciate being accused of mismatching info (I've NEVER had any such problem with the dozens of online stores I have ordered from in the past... NEVER).
The rep explained that I had to WIRE money (seriously?) or sign a personal check to complete the order and be placed on the backorder waiting list. What a joke. How sketch is that?
I won't even consider this a real online retailer ever again. Wouldn't trust them for anything. I feel pretty insecure with the info they have on me as it is. To those considering ordering, think twice and don't bother. This review was modified by its author, Jiminikiz, on

Frustrating experience. They lied about having a part in stock, then they didn't notify me that it was backordered. After I questioned why my order was "In Progress" for two weeks, they gave me an estimate that it'll be in-stock within another 2 weeks. I waited the two weeks, then gave a grace period of another week, didn't hear a thing. I Emailed them again, and the person gives me another says they expect the part over a month and a half from now. I waited all that time. Now, two weeks past that date, I see the order has been CANCELLED by them.
Apparently they don't want my business. I was patient and gave them time to get the part they had "in-stock". They failed to even do that. They are losers.
