Not only is the product amazing I was stoked when I received a call in the afternoon on Christmas Eve that I had a package for me. I had placed the order after hours on the 22nd and had the product with all the specs I wanted the afternoon of the 24th. Made for one hell of a holiday and was so great I've told friends and even my boss is gonna buy a new sager laptop. Thanks, sorry for the... Read More

No problems at all with the order, My new 5797 seams to be a great notebook. I made a mistake with my payment using pay-pal and sent an e-mail to PcTorque, they responded fast, refunded my money and resent an invoice. Shipping was no problem, they shipped when they said they would, and e-mailed me that it was on it's way. Like one of the previous reviews, when first booted-up it had an improper shut down error, but booted up in normal mode and everything seams fine. I would defiantly recommend PcTorque to any one looking to buy a laptop.

My purchase experience with PCTorque was very good. Their emails were polite, businesslike and timely. They assisted me working through an issue with my credit card, and were very flexible when I requested a change to the order after it was placed. They shipped the computer via the service I had requested, and provided me with the tracking information prior to UPS accepting the package.
Based on my experience, I'd recommend them to others. My experience with them met all my expectations as a customer, and by my standards, that's pretty high praise.

Purchased a Sager 8662 through PCTorque. Originally attempted to purchase a model that was discontinued, but still listed on the website for sale.
Even with this mistake, PCTorque worked with me to get a computer that was just as good, if not better, all for about the same price. They figured the difference in price and I had my computer within 6 days. Not bad for UPS ground across the country.
At first, I must say... I was a little nervous about dealing with them. I had never purchased a computer through a reseller like this, only dealing with Dell in the past. However, the computer cannot be beat for the price.
PCTorque was more than helpful in getting the computer I wanted. I look forward to dealing with them again when this beast is out of date in a couple months. LOL! This review was modified by its author, vcotham, on

Where to begin? It's been a complete nightmare dealing with PC Torque! Not only did I have to wait over 2 months for my laptop, but their customer service is absolutely horrible. Google PC Torque sucks and see what you come up with! The worse part about the transaction, even more so than having to wait 2 months, was that I paid $119 for 2-day air shipping...guess how it was shipped to me? You guessed it, UPS GROUND! Took over a week to get it to me. I have yet to get my money back for the expedited shipping, UPS Ground is supposed to be free. Avoid at all costs!!
Edited for response:
That is simply not true that the notebook was shipped from CA to NY via 2-day shipping. We were told that it shipped Friday May 15, 2009 from Sager and was on it's way to their NY office. That would have placed the laptop to them no later than May 19, but we were emailed on May 22 that it had been received and was now being shipped to us. It was shipped to us via UPS ground, and to date WE HAVE YET to receive the notebook!! We've pretty much given up hope on ever receiving a notebook from PC Torque! A refund for the expedited shipping (which never took place) was offered ONLY if we removed our negative review on this board. Avoid PC Torque!!!
Edited again for response:
Sorry, I forgot to add the words "to be shipped" to waiting 2 months. And how stupid was it to ship a $3000 notebook and not require a signature on delivery? Hey, a free laptop to anyone walking down the street. Good one PC Torque! We decided to take our business elsewhere and are completely satisfied with our transaction. Hope others take notice of my review, and the warnings posted on other boards and avoid PC Torque! This review was modified by its author, Scientific, on

PC Torque always appreciates the input of its customers with regards to the quality of service received and ways we can improve. With regards to the instant post, this customer was a CA customer who would normally be required to pay the CA sales tax since all Sager notebooks ship from CA.
As a courtesy to the customer, we offered to have the notebook shipped to our NY offices first so that the customer would avoid this hefty tax (almost $300). Since this required an extra round of shipping, the customer was told that it would ship via 2 Day Air from Sager to us and via FREE UPS Ground Shipping from our offices to the customer's. This is exactly what was done. The UPS ground shipment the customer is referring to is for that second round of shipping and was free. The customer also received what she paid for - 2 Day Air shipping from Sager to PC Torque.
So all and all, this customer:
1. Was able to save sales tax through this second round of shipping AND
2. Received one round of FREE UPS Ground shipping in addition to the 2nd Day Air shipping she paid for the other round of shipping.
In light of all this, the customer was offered a full refund of $119 for the 2nd Day air shipping she paid for and received.
With regards to the customer's delay in receiving her notebook, this is not disputed. However, the delay of the Sager 5797 model was well-known to her and to the entire industry. Nor was the delay exclusive to PC Torque, as it affected Sager and ALL of its Resellers. Anybody can confirm this with Sager. It also bears mention that any delay was further exacerbated by the customer's choice to avoid the CA sales tax and have her notebook shipped to our NY offices first. This increased waiting time was part of a benefit she received in avoiding that tax.
The customer was also free to cancel her order at anytime but did not do so, recognizing the fact that ordering from another vendor or Sager itself would only place her further behind the line of customers set to receive their notebooks.
PC Torque always strives to provide superior customer service and support and we are always here to listen to our customers. In this case, the facts and the overwhelming majority of our other ratings speak for themselves.
Reply to Customer's Further Edit:
While the notebook was not shipped to you the very same day it was received from Sager (they are usually shipped within 1-2 days from the time of receipt to allow time for handling), it was shipped via 2nd Day Air from Sager. The offer to refund the shipping was offered by us as a courtesy after YOU REQUESTED IT and this offer was met with your claim of "non-receipt" of the item despite your original post, wherein you stated that you had to wait over 2 months for your laptop, meaning it was received. In addition, you ordered several accessories for the notebook you say you did not receive, including an extra battery and charger. At the time when you ordered these accessories, you did not tell us about any claim of non-receipt of the laptop and UPS shows that it was indeed delivered to your front door, perhaps not as soon as you would have liked (which we apologize for but had no control over just as Sager and other Resellers had no control over).
Again, the facts speak for themselves and potential customers can make up their own minds after an objective analysis.
New Update:
After the police were alerted of the customer's alleged non-receipt and a claim was filed with UPS, UPS and an officer contacted the customer and she acknowledged receipt of the package. Any potential customer can email PC Torque and we will be more than happy to provide documentation FROM UPS that her claim of non-receipt is bogus. |

This is a TOP NOTCH COMPANY! I ordered my laptop from them just 5 days ago and I received it today with the new 280m video card!!! Within minutes of me placing my order, I received a confirmation call for my order from Jason at customer service thanking me for my purchase. The CUSTOMER SERVICE COULD NOT BE BETTER! I tried to deal with the other Resellers and had asked many questions but everyone besides PC Torque was losing their patience with me. It’s great to know there is still a company out there that cares about more than just getting a quick sale. Kudos to you PC Torque…I know where I will go for my gaming laptop needs now!

Well, I ordered my Sager 9262 from PC Torque on 3/3/09 and I recieved it today (4/2/09). Apparently there were some issues with getting the parts for my laptop and that is the reason why I waited almost a month to get it. But that is Sager's fault, NOT PC Torque's... PC Torque was fantastic about getting back to me on the status of my laptop. They responded to every email I sent them (a few times they even called me back within 15 minutes of emailing them!) and were as conserned about my laptop status as I was. So overall my experience was great with PC Torque!

The 5797-
I've had my 5797 for about a week now and so far I have been quite impressed. For being such a beast of a machine it does a very good job of maintaining a reasonable temperature. Sometimes it gets a little on the warm side right around where my right palm rests, but nothing uncomfortable. I had mine installed with 64 bit Vista (my first vista experience, i have xp on my desktop) to get the full use of ram and also move towards a 64 bit OS. I'm pleased to say that it everything has ran beautifully on it so far. No BSOD's yet and Crysis, WoW, and HL2 run just fine on it with no driver issues or anything. All of the goofy little gadgets such as the webcam and fingerprint scanner seem to work just fine. The resolution and refresh rate of the built in webcam aren't too spiffy, but I could really care less about that anyway. Overall I must say I am quite pleased with the laptop.
Only a couple little complaints-
1) When I first booted up the laptop, it complained about some crash it had and wanted to boot up in safemode. I crossed my fingers and booted it up normally and everything was fine. This is really Sager's fault and not PCTorque's, but I thought I'd mention it.
2) The plastic used to enclose the screen seems a bit.. cheap to be honest. It seems to smudge and dirty easily so if you're OCD about having a beautiful computer, this might annoy you.
PCTorque-
I made my order over the weekend and it seems they were out of the office at the time. So of course my temporary limit increase on my card reset before the transaction went through and caused some problems. I sent an email about this, but didn't receive any reply. A few days later I got a hold of Ben on the telephone and we got the situation resolved, but I thought it was strange how my email seemed to have been ignored.
I spent the next few days obsessively calling back to check to see when it would ship. I guess that PCTorque doesn't find out until the day after the shipment goes out from Sager, that it shipped. Having one day shipping and wanting to be home to receive the shipment, obviously this made things somewhat interesting. After a few days Ben got through to Sager and found out when my machine was suppose to ship out and passed that information on to me (I guess Sager was missing a part or something).
That basically summarizes my experience with PCTorque's customer service. Initially I was somewhat unimpressed as my email concerning my daily limit seemed to go ignored. Ever since that though, every email I have sent them has been answered. Also, it's very nice to be able to call and actually speak to someone that is fluent in English on the phone. They also were always polite.
I'm a bit weary to post this review this early, but I suppose if something goes south I can always get back on here and let you all know:^) . Anyway, as of right now I would recommend PCTorque to those that are looking for a gaming laptop and are willing to pay a little extra for reliability and a customer support that actually supports the customer.
Everyone else can go buy from Alienware and then post their nightmare of a story on some blog.

The customer service at PC torque was great. They answered any and all questions I confronted them with very promptly (as in the same day I asked them through email). As if that's not enough, I actually called them initially to inquire about a sale and a human being actually picked up the phone rather than an automated machine. The order I placed was promptly acted upon and they had my custom Sager 5793 completed and shipped in under two days time after they received the order. For those who are better with numbers, I placed the order on 02/10/09 and received a confirmation email immediately after and a confirmation PHONE CALL TO MY HOME a few hours after the order had been processed. I just received a shipping confirmation telling me that the notebook will arrive on 02/18/09 (I opted for standard shipping). I am uber excited to get my Sager notebook and am very pleased with PC Torque's service. I would recommend them to anyone looking for a gaming PC that costs as much as it is actually worth as apposed to Dell or Alienware who charge an arm and a leg. Thanks PC Torque!
