"Unfortunately, AFTER I ordered my camcorder from this company, I read the horror stories on many reseller review Web sites. I was paranoid that my experience would be like many others. And it was, but not exactly.

I ordered a camcorder (10/20/05-a.m.) and thought my order had been processed. After a couple days of no change in the status of my order on their Web site, I called (10/24/05-a.m.) to check on the order. My first suspicion came when they had the wrong camcorder down for my order. They verified my name and address and told me that was all they needed. When I asked when I could expect it to be shipped, they said, "Check the email tonight." When I checked the email, I was informed that my item was on "backorder" and I would have to wait 6-8 weeks if I still wanted it.

They never tried to sell me any overpriced accessories or extended warranties, so I never had the chance to decline them. They said in their email that I could cancel my order if the wait was unacceptable. I replied to their email that I needed to cancel the order (10/24/05-p.m.). I have received no response regarding my cancellation as of today (10/26/05-a.m.). My credit card was not/has not been charged (yet). If they try to assess their "10% cancellation fee," I will fight that, and report it here as well.

I do know someone who ordered from them before with NO PROBLEMS. Considering the many bad reviews and my own experience, that baffles me. All and all in regards to my situation: no harm, no foul. But I wouldn't have ordered from them had I read many of these reviews beforehand and I won't order from them again.

Afterward: I ordered the same camera from Amazon (though much more pricey) after cancelling with PCandPlasma and expect to receive it within a few days."

"I ordered a Sharp LC45GD7U 45" LCD HDTV for $3099. I was required to call in to verify and confirm this order. I called an spoke with Jim who tells me he needs the 3-digit code on the back of my card. This info should have been added to the online process. As you may have read from other reviews, the real purpose of order confirmation is to sell you warranty and the sales tactics are very aggressive. I've called this company (800)732-7960 several time for product info and finally the order confirmation and I spoke with the same person each time, Jim.

On my product info calls, he was very irritated that I was bothering him with my questions. From this, I should have known better. On the confirm order call, very pushy and spoke with me like I was naive. "So, why didn't you get that awesome deal that was offered?" I was confuse as there was no other offer presented when I made my online oerder. Looking back, he's trying to sell me the infamous and expensive might I add $800 In-Home Warranty. When I decline the offer, he says I'll be getting the import model. WHAT THE HECK!! There were no reference to import model when I ordered online. What a scam... I even tried to re-order to check and see if there was some notation that got passed me, but there were no reference to import model. Ask what is the difference between an import model and a USA model. Warranty was the difference. With the import model I would need to pay upwards off $500 for shipping plus insurance to send my TV overseas somewhere for repairs. To me, this means no warranty. With the import model, there were no in home service. I was frighten; and told him this was ridiculous. Had I known the purchase price I was paying online was for an import model, I wouldn't have made the purchase.

"We can change your order to a USA model," says Jim. I ask, "How much more?" It would be $3999 and you get the 1-year In-Home warranty from Sharp. I was just flabbergasted. They offered lower price but truly in the end their price was not competitive at all. I will never buy anything from this company...very shady company."

"I ordered a Canon 10D online. The next day I got an email saying I need to call in to "verify" my order. I called in and got the "what's your name, address, phone?". After we got the "verification" out of the way, I was barraged with attempts at add on sales "are you sure you don't want this kit, yada, yada, yada...". I refused all additional offers and was assured my order was good to go. A week went by, I called back to check on the status. I went through the "verification" again and was told "we had problems processing your order" and "would you like us to try again?" WTF, you mean to tell me my order would've just sat and stew longer had I not called in so you can ask me if you could "try again". I canceled the friken order on the spot. Turned around and ordered from B&H for the same price and it was shipped 2 hours later. Should've done that to begin with."

"This is one of those companies that does business in volume with little or no concern for their customers. They emailed me to call them for credit card verification (first time this ever happened to me for an online order). When I called, they said there was no problem, and that my order would be shipped. A couple of days later I called again to check, and was told my order was being held pending credit card verification. After I threatened to cancel, they PROMISED me it would be shipped that day. Later I received an email saying that my order was cancelled because the item was discontinued. These guys completely wasted five days of my time with their incompetence."

"If you are looking for an honest, reliable online retailer...keep looking because PC and Plasma ain't it. I ordered a $2800 camcorder which the website said was in stock. The typical street price for this item is usually more than $3200, so you can see why I was interested. The next day I got an email asking me to phone PC and Plasma and confirm some of my info. When I got on the line they wanted to sell me about $400 worth of accessories I don't need and don't want. I politely declined. The customer service guy said the camcorder was instock and I'd receive it in 7 to 10 days. After a week, I called and was informed it was not in stock. They "checked" with their warehouse and I was assured it would be in within the week. Another week passes and now I'm told it'll be 4 to 6 weeks. It became clear they had lost interest in selling be the item when they knew they weren't going to pad their profits with overpriced accessories. Stay away from this outfit and others that operate this way. "

"I ordered a camcorder that was supposed to be in stock using their online web form. When I checked the status using their order number, a messaged indicated that I needed to call the store. They tried very hard to sell me additional items which I refused. The sales person told me that "yes the camera was in stock and would be shipped". The next day when I checked the status again, a message said my order was pending. When I called them, they said that the order was on back order for a couple of weeks. I called 2 more times that day as a "new customer" checking the status of the camera and was told, yes it was definitely in stok and could be shipped that day. I called back 2 more times that same day with ny purchase order number and they said that it was on back order. Bottom line, if you don't buy very expensive accessories, you won't get the camera at the Web price. That is their only guarantee."

"I feel as though I have been lied to on multiple occasions by this company. I ordered a sony mini-dv camcorder, and also got the verification message causing me to call them to verify my order. They pushed their package deal on me and basically said that in order to have the item shipped today, I had to buy the package (with hindsight, I should have gone elsewhere at that point). They agreed to ship second day for no charge. The following day, I checked the status, and it had not shipped. I called and told them that I expected the shipment 2 days after I ordered. The CSR changed the order to next day shipping at no charge. The following day I checked the status, and it still showed up as "order forwarded to shipping department". I called again to confirm, and they say that it shipped. I told them at this time that if it was not on a UPS truck, I wanted the order cancelled. They tell me "no problem, you will have it tomorrow". I agreed to purchase the product only if it was shipped in a timely fashion. They are also unable to produce a tracking number at this time. I will not use this merchant again, regardless of advertised price."

"I called Dec 21 to make sure the Nikon 8800 was in stock and could be shipped for Christmas. M tried to sell me more stuff, but I said no. We agreed a higher shipping charge for second day, and M promised I would have it before Christmas. I paid immediately by credit card.

Next day I got an e-mail - please call "to verify and finalize" my order. I did and J said there really wasn't any problem, they just wanted to make sure I didn't need anything else. I said I had been through that with M, and J said ok. I asked about getting it in time for Christmas, and he said no problem, it was in shipping dock, and would go out that night (22nd).

I tried to call and e-mail when nothing arrived on the 24th, and could not get a response.

Then Dec 29th, I get an e-mail to say the shipment "is delayed for 1-2 weeks because the merchandise is on backorder with the manufacturer". This is the same thing they told me they had and had allocated to me on both Dec 21 and Dec 22.

They ruined Christmas for me, with no present to give. I think they are consistently dishonest, because I went straight to the webpage, which still showed it as "in stock" (and at $40 less)."

"Bait and switch. They list cameras at a low price and you place your order. Then they send you an e-mail to call them and they want you to buy accessories way over MSRP. As soon as you reject additional accessories, then they tell you it is not in stock. STAY AWAY. If it seems to good to be true, it usually is."

"I read reviews before I tried to order and should have known better. Sure enough, when I did not order accessories, I received an email that the camcorder was "out of stock" and would take 6-8 weeks before delivery could take place. Oddly enough, even right now they show the item "in stock" when you do a Google search for the item. These people are typical web scam artists trying to squeeze a dolloar out of you by deceiving you on the initial price. Go elsewhere. If they are this dishonest from the start, imagine what will happen when you actually have an issue with something you purchase."
