"Never order from them! I placed my order on monday. They said the notebooks (I placed an order for 2 units) were in stock and ships inmediatelly. Sent them 3 emails never rcvd any reply, I called them on friday and they told me 'cause the volume of orders, my order was delayed. Then they refused to ship the notebook 'cause they said they can't verify my company phone number as being valid, and said the only way was to send a wire. My phone number IS VALID, and I don't have any problem with my VISA. I cancelled the order and placed it in newegg, my notebook is already shipped, and I should rcv it next monday. Newegg rocks, price was also better! AVOID PCCONNECTION!!!!"
"I received the worst treatment ever from this online retailer. They shipped me a defective unit (which looks to be common practice for them).
Contacted them as soon as I found out (within 30 days)...note it took them well over a week to deliver it. I am now being forced to deal with bbb.org They refuse to exchange or refund.
They give new meaning to the phrase "HELL on earth.""
I ordered a LENOVO COMMERCIAL SYSTEMS V100 laptop specfically because it said same day shipping, and I called them to make sure and they said yes same day.
2nd day arrives, no shipping notice, I call again, asked about the same day shipppment, the guy then asked me to verify my credit card info.
So I do, until he asked for a landline phone number. I dont have a land line, nor have i ever used a land line. I have done a 100 purchases on the web without needing a land line, not even a phone number period.
He kept insisting that I need it, he started getting rude and demanding until I got fed up and told him to cancel my order.
That's when he said ok and hung up.
This company seems to not care about doing business which tells you how willing they are to deal with customers.
The item was obviously not in-stock hence they lie. They try to stall you with all sorts of bull s#$#%.
There are 100's of other pc stores online, don't come here."
"Extremely disappointed in my purchase at PCConnection. Shopped for several weeks to find the best deal on a low-end LCD, and, based on ratings found here and elsewhere, narrowed the search to PCConnection. The item was tagged with "Ships today", and I expected, based on several reviews here and elsewhere that noted very fast shipping times, to receive the LCD before the end of the week.
That was Monday morning, and I placed the order, expecting to get confirmation or something. There were some mixed notes online saying PCConnection may or may not contact me to confirm shipping and contact info. Nothing. Tuesday came and went and nothing. Finally called PCConnection on Wednesday morning to ask what the deal was. Rep said yes, I should have gotten a confirmation call, but we're really busy with Xmas and all, and we haven't gotten around to you.
So we chat for a minute, and she says she needs to call me back at my own phone to verify info. I give her my cell number, which is the only home phone I have (this is the 21st century, right?). I'm told that it has to be a land line, which I don't have. I ask if completion of my order is entirely dependent on my having a wired phone at which they can call me. Unfortunately, that is the case. So I have to give a work number, at which point I'm told I'll get a call back within 10 minutes.
50 minutes pass and I've missed a meeting because I'm waiting for these people to call me on a landline. During that time I'm actually shopping for the same item at eCost (where I should have gone in the first place, but PCConnection was a whole $5 less) now because I'm ready to cancel the order and tell PCConnection to stick it. Wendy finally calls back, apologizes for the delay ("We're so busy...") and confirms the information. I ask why the item description still says "Ships today" when all customers have to wait for a call from them that may take 2-3 or more days. Of course she's all over that and says she's been begging her supervisor to get the web pages changed. I also ask if I had not been so trusting and had called them later on the day I ordered, would the product probably have shipped "today"? Wendy admits yes, it probably would have shipped.
So it took a week to get the LCD instead of 2 or 3 days, and I hope the thing works, because I'm sure PCConnection's return policy is just as excruciating.
Summary: Don't believe everything you read, don't trust the vendor to follow through on their own process, don't trust the reps to honor their commitments, and don't buy at PCConnection, unless "eventually" meets your expectations."
"I recently purchased a Tripod that arrived with two broken legs. The customer reps were less than helpful. It took me three phone calls to obtain an RMA number. They argued that they weren't responsible for the quality of the goods they shipped. The funniest part: in three phone calls I was informed of three different return policies. I think further training would be helpful... I canceled my order and I will not purchase anything from them again. I do not recommend them to anyone. "
I ordered two external harddrives from PC Connection the other day and when I checked my order status today they canceled the order - WITHOUT NOTIFYING ME. Sure enough, there is still a $312.74 charge on my credit card. Stores should be held to honor the prices they advertise to the public.
We need to stop taking this crap as consumers. Most people who got in on this deal think it was a price "mistake", but what if it wasn't? What if they did it on purpose to get their name out there, to pad their quarterly reports, or even for quick cash? Even if the cash is only in their hands for a few hours, they can make interest off it - just like how PayPal operates. Don't take these kinds of tactics - REVIEW SHADY RETAILERS."
"I ordered an Opteron 148 that their site had priced at $36.97. The order was canceled the next day with no email notification. I realize this was probably a pricing error, but in my opinion they should honor the order anyway. I will not order from this merchant again."
"I ordered a Hanns-G HC-194D monitor with the expectation of getting rebates of $100 from the manufacturer and $20 back from PC Connection respectively. The $100 rebate has been approved but the $20 rebate has been denied for " maximum number of claims for this household." The rebate form listed only the HC-194D as the qualifying model. I had ordered the Hanns-G HU-196D from them in May, with similar rebate offers, but the rebate form on the denied claim did not list the HU-196D, so this should have been considered a different product, promotion, offer, and/or dept. number. Needless to say I will never buy from PC Connection and their affiliates again. I would warn everyone to be careful when considering rebates in their buying decision... you're at the mercy of retailers like PC Connection to honor them."
"Ordered a 42" plasma back in May 2005. Went through 3 months a various ETA's, customer service actually fabricating stories. A complete unprofessional mess. All to have it end 3 months later with PC Connection canceling the order because they can’t resolve their problems. Hands down one the worst experiences I have had dealing with a company. My advice...avoid PC Connection. There are countless companies to make your purchases. Why bother with one like this. They have wronged a lot of people in this plasma deal gone bad. The way they have dealt with myself and many others says loud and clear that they just don’t care. Horrible"
"After more than 20 days of complete silence, I get a mail from the company on Oct-12 that they were out of stock of the item I bought and they placed in backorder.
Unbelievaly bad service. They wasted my time. I would never do business with them again."
