"The cards arrived two days before scheduled, but that was the only positive thing about the product. 75% of the cards are one size, and the remaining are smaller. I ordered the rounded edges and half the edges are rounded proper, but the other two edges are cut oddly. It doesn't look rounded, it looks like three cuts were made to try to pass it off as rounded. I had text centered on the backside of the card in my design, but that didn't turn out right either. The text is off to the right and down, so it is obviously not centered. NEVER AGAIN."
"I've been using Overnight for years, but recently their quality has taken a major nosedive.
I've had minor issues in the past in dozens of orders, and their customer service is stingy at best.
This time I unfortunately place a huge order of business cards. The first batch was cut terribly short, and the registration was atrocious. Color was way, way off – and these were basically reprints. The color was stable until now. They of course claimed fault on my part until I showed them side-by-side comparisons of past orders and artwork.
They finally asked for the order back, and reprinted the order. To make it worse they sent half of each order in 2 separate shipments 2 days apart. Half of the order was just as poorly cut, only this time the registration was even worse. Colors still way off. Part of the problem probably lies in their requirement of RGB artwork instead of CMYK, but still I ask for some consistency if nothing else.
Their attitude at the new print job is flippant at best – I’m stuck with it. I cannot continue to do business with them at this point, and do not recommend them to anyone. I'm weeks past needing these, and have to go somewhere else to get it done right. "
First let me say the good things.... They have great prices, thick card stock, and free UV spot gloss. But none of these these things matter if the cards you receive are in bad condition. The cards I received had a large spot of gloss and the front that wasn't supposed to be there, which made them completely unusable. But besides that the edges of the back of the cards where flaking and basically coming apart. I talked to some local printers and they said this may have happened because they were either cut when wet or with a dull blade. I sent the cards back and will be receiving a refund. Oh yeah and when I called for the refund their phone line was crackling and it was very difficult to understand them. Low prices aren't worth it if the product sucks!"
"I am 100% disappointed with the service I have received at OvernightPrints.com. I would not recommend that anyone use their services for any reason. How's that for a thesis statement?
I ordered business cards for a conference on Feb. 27th, and the cards arrived on time a few days later. Upon opening the box, I could immediately see that the cards were trimmed off-center, meaning that my name, logo, etc (which were centered in my design) were noticeably shifted to the right on the top card. Note: apparently there is some fine print in the agreement that states that OvernightPrints.com is allowed a 1/16" margin of error in the printing process. My cards, however, may have started off shifted 1/16" to the right at the beginning of the deck, but as I browsed through the cards, the shift became more and more pronounced. The gap on the left hand side of the cards became wider and wider until the last 2 cards in the deck had a 1/8" white bar on the left side where the trimmer had gone completely off the bleed. The cards were shifted over approximately 3/8"-1/2" at that point.
I contacted OvernightPrints.com about the problem, and the rep was actually pretty responsive and nice. We sent an unnecessarily large number of emails back and forth. but I finally got a return label to ship the cards back for "quality control analysis". I waited a week before hearing anything. When I was contacted (and I had to email them asking what was up before I got this response), I was told that my cards were printed within the 1/16" margin of error and that I could get the cards shipped back to me or get store credit. Basically, I was complaining about nothing and I was wrong. Amazing.
I was pretty much ready to blow my stack. It had taken 3 weeks to get to this point, and now they were slicing off this pound of baloney? I told the rep that I would not be using their service in the future, so a store credit was useless, and that the cards were clearly done wrong so there was no point in sending them back to me. I also emailed photos I had taken of the cards, which clearly showed the mistakes exceeding the 1/16" rule. I also asked that her superior contact me immediately, and she replied that she had forwarded the photos and my correspondence to her supervisor, who would be getting in touch with me.
That was 4 business days ago. This has gone on for almost a month. For a $25 order. Really.
OvernightPrints.com basically delivered a product that did not live up to its (already lax) standards and then either lied to me about the quality control assessment or cared so little about a thorough QA assessment that they just looked at the top card in the box and decided "Yep, this kid is just a big baby." Oh, and they've also ripped me off since they have my money and I have nothing but a 14-email Gmail thread.
Everyone at OvernightPrints.com should be ashamed of themselves for the way this has been handled, which has been far too lengthy and aggravating. Just giving my $25 back graciously, or just reprinting the cards, would have made me a happy customer and saved them the bad publicity that I am publishing here. And I may have even tried using them again in the future.
Anyhow, you get what you pay for. Go get your printing done at a brick and mortar shop, or an online source that comes recommended from someone you trust. Unless you feel like rolling the dice and running the risk of getting royally hosed, OvernightPrints.com is not that place.
(Quick note: I used OvernightPrints.com for two client jobs a few years back and got great results, which is why I went there for this job. Just in case you're thinking "Why didn't you check this place out beforehand?" or "Duh, they look kinda sketchy.")"
"DO NOT USE this company. I am a professional photographer and designer with a wide range of clients and connections and I can guarantee that none of them will even look twice at this company. I sent my design in and they told me there was a problem with their spot UV so I changed the files and resent them. They sent me card that were completely black you could not see my website and the photos were extremely saturated. Now my monitors at home and in my studio are color calibrated correctly. I politely called and an email was sent back to me saying that I would receive 50% off of a new order… what happened to money back guarantee. I called again and the man argued with me in a very un professional manner and continued to tell me that this was my fault. My response was if the order was bad then why was it printed why was I not notified that on YOUR end the order was bad? His response was “it was your mistake not ours”. Overnight prints provided by far worst customer service that I have ever received; this company wasted my time and money."
"I used OvernightPrints for years, because they used to be a great company. This has changed. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. Their customer service is sadly lacking, as is their insistence that EVERY problem is a customer problem. I've been designing postcards and business cards for years, and I can say that the worst thing a printer can be is unwilling to accept their mistakes. As a designer, I say again, do not use this company. As a small business owner, I say again, do not use this company. The price isn't worth it!!!"
"I had a very similar experience as tony_m. My company had been using Overnight Prints without major issues for years. However, recently we noticed the quality getting worse and worse - colors looking bad and cutting way off center - up to this last order which was totally unusable.
When I spoke with customer service, they said our design was at fault and the best they could offer was 50% off a reorder and then they still couldn't guarantee they would be cut correctly. Why would I reorder another faulty product? The "it's not our fault" attitude of the customer service representative seemed to convey that this problem happens a lot.
We will not continue using Overnight Prints for any services. Even though their low pricing seems attractive, unusable products aren't worth it. Be forewarned, you get what you pay for!"
"Horrible service! Do not use this printer! There are a number of other quality printers out there. I put in a simple order. 10 days later, my order arrived, missing one of the items I ordered. I contacted customer service and they didn't even apologize for the error. Received the missing item about a week later. Guess what? It was printed incorrectly (they glued the notepad on the wrong side of the pad). Not to mention it was packaged in a bubble mailer, not rigid, so the notepads were bent at the edges. Again, horrible customer service! Save yourself from inconvenience and aggravation and void using Overnight Printers by any means. I've had excellent luck with PS Print, Vista Print, and CatPrint to name a few."
"On August 20, I placed an order for business cards, letterhead, and envelopes. The business cards arrived on August 28. On August 29, I sent an email asking about the letterhead and envelopes. They responded that I'd receive my order within 5 days. After not receiving the shipment, I sent another email on September 6 asking about the letterhead and envelopes. I received an email assuring me that the rest of my shipment would arrive the following day. The following day, only the envelopes arrived. On September 7 I sent another email asking about the letterhead. I got no response. On September 8 I called the customer service number. After being on hold nearly 45 minutes, I spoke to someone who told me the letterhead was nowhere to be found...apparently lost. After denying their offer to print them now--19 days after I placed the order--I requested a refund. That's handled by another department and they are supposed to call me on Monday. I'm not optimistic. AVOID OVERNIGHT PRINTS!"
"The printing work has been decent but the customer service is terrible. Ordered business cards for a client that were supposed to be delivered on Monday in time for a business trip the next day. Client calls to tell me that business cards have not arrived so I call OvernightPrints. The customer service rep tells me that there was a system error and the cards were never printed! I asked why I wasn't informed about this and she said that there system was not set up that way. I was forced to order a rush batch of cards to be printed for my client in the town where they were headed for business so ended up paying double the cost of the original cards. The next day I called and spoke with a manager and demanded that they refund me the cost of the new cards I had to purchase or just refund my money and send the cards I ordered. She said it was impossible for them to deliver cards and refund my money so my only choice was to cancel the order. When I asked about why I wasn't informed about THEIR system error that kept the order from being printed, she told me that they were a "self-service printing company" and that I should carefully read the terms of service when I order because it is MY responsibility to check on my order and make sure it has gone into production and shipped to me. They obviously have no idea how to treat customers properly when they blame the customer for their mistakes. STAY AWAY if you don't want customer service hassles."
