reply posted Jun-11-2013 “The XX16g has registration tabs to assist with the proper positioning of the upper tube assembly. While this will help to align the upper and lower sections of the telescope, collimation may still be required. We do recommend that collimation be checked each time the telescope is assembled. Regarding the Precision Centering Adapter, Laser Collimator and the primary mirror collimation screws, these should work well together to achieve proper collimation. It may be best to have you contact our Technical Support team at 800-676-1343 from 6am to 6pm, Monday through Friday and from 8am to 2pm Saturday PDT. We would be happy to assist in troubleshooting this issue with you.”

That was 5\/28. I did not receive it when expected. I later received a letter from Orion indicating that I would probably get it around June 7th. I didn't. I looked at their website and the item is still indicated as "In Stock". I called and asked when it would be available and was told sometime around 6\/11...so I requested that they change my delivery to regular ground shipping since the event where I intended to use it has long since passed.<br><br>I like this merchant, but do not like being tricked into buying something advertised as In-Stock when it clearly is not. The information on the web site, and other customer reviews, was very helpful in choosing between numerous telescopes. The online ordering process was straightforward, and the telescope was shipped promptly. Great packaging kept everything in perfect condition.<br>We're having a great time with this telescope. It took a while to get the EZ finder calibrated with the scope, but it works like a charm and I can quickly locate objects even with the 10mm eyepiece. I had considered getting a computerized scope because I didn't know if I'd be able to find objects myself, but even adjusting the scope to track Venus as it sets is easy with the EZ finder. The tabletop mount is nice, and the telescope also attached easily to our camera tripod. <br>This is a terrific starter telescope- it's easy to use, lightweight and portable, provides good images and is still reasonably priced so I can afford a Barlow lens to go with it.
