"My review of OpticsPlanet is that if you are purchasing big ticketed items, you will receive good customer service. However, on small ticketed items, you need to lower your expectations of what customer service should be and be prepared to receive unsatisfactory customer service. My first ever transacton with OpticsPlanet was for a Nikon P-223 scope and M-223 scope mount. That transaction went very smoothly. However, with my next and mostly likely my last transaction with them, my shopping experience was the complete opposite.

After initially placing my order for an in-stock BSA scope, I received an email the next day stating item was no longer available and that "we are working hard to have your complete order shipped as soon as possible and if we can ship sooner, we absolutely will. We will not capture any funds from your credit card until your order can be shipped. Upon shipment, you will automatically be notified with tracking information. If your order is urgent, we offer thousands of products that are in stock and ready to ship." Since their website showed expected availability of 1-3 days, I decided to hold out. However, after almost two weeks of it still indicating 1-3 days, I contacted OpticsPlanet and inquired about a comparable scope that was in stock and that could ship out that day. Unfortunately, due to this scope being 6 cents below the $29.95 free shipping threshold (scope price $29.89), I had to pay for shipping. Rather than select their Value Shipping option, I selected one of their expedited shipping options since I had already been waiting over two weeks for a scope. I received an email from OpticsPlanet stating that the order was shipped on 6/12 and funds were captured from credit card on 6/12 but order did not actually ship until 6/13 as evident from USPS Tracking information (see below).

If the order was truely shipped on 6/12, then why did USPS not receive the electronic shipping informaton on that date? Our company ships everyday using UPS, FedEx, and USPS and when an item is shipped and we close out of UPS, FedEx or USPS at the end of the day is when the electronic shipping information is sent. I was told this did in fact go out on the 12th but the information below paints a totally different picture. They may have certainly created the shipping label on the 12th but they did not close out of USPS until the following day.
