This place is horrible. I ordered two (2) digital picture frames at around $30 a piece after shipping. I ordered these for Christmas gifts. One turns on, and one doesn't. The one that turns on is so slow it may as well not even work. The other one, well just doesn't work period. you can press/hold down the power button all day and it still will not turn on. I was going to return it for another but found out the buyer is responsible for paying shipping to return it. Why should I have to pay to return a defective item? So, doing that would put me $10 down the hole out of a $30 item. Once they get it I will have gotten $20 back total. Once I get that I would have to turn around and spend another $30+ to get another one and pay for shipping once again. I think I will hold off and go somewhere else. I'm never shopping here again.

So, I was skeptical after reading reviews here, but they had a damn good price for a MacBook Pro ($300 off) so I could not resist. Some other merchants had this price, but they did not have the bundled software deals. I bought at least 3 Macs previously from macmall.com which seems to be the sister site to this one and club mac, but interestingly only onsale had the $300 off and the other two had only like $215 off.
I went ahead and bought it with the order totaling over $2500. I got the overnight fedex for shipping which was only $10 more than 7 day one.
During registration (I'm a first timer on onsale, but shopped a lot at macmall) I entered my cell phone number. I placed the order around 9am and around 3pm onsale called me to verify the order and it was shipped that very day. I got it without a problem the next day by fedex.
In all, I have no issues with them so far. I mailed in the rebates, so we'll see how that works out.
I mailed $210 worth of rebates to the actual onsale and $60 to the vendors directly.
Hopefully, I'll be able to update this review when the rebates get here.

Updating on 01/11/2010: Just got my rebate checks. Just slightly over a month after the order (submitted next day). They promised 8 weeks, got it after 5. I'm very satisfied with this reseller. I have to say, that after reading the reviews this reseller looks frightening, but come to think of it, how many people go and post good reviews after having no issues? I hardly ever do. I will never do business with onsale.com!
I called in to place an order, trying to use $25 credit that was issued to me because of my last cancelled order. The sales representitive firstly denied my credit. When I said I had the reference# of that credit and wanted to give it to him, he suddenly said he got it already and my total to will subtracted $25.
2 days later, I noticed that my credit card was actually charged for the full amount. I called in and was told that I had to talk to the guy who placed the order for me; of course he wasn't there. After I called in 2 more times and got pissed, finally another lady "helped" me and told me the $25 will be refunded to my credit card in 3 days.
A week later, the $25 never came back to my credit card. I got the packet, and it's the wrong item, which has a different size and won't work for me! I called in, and surprisingly reached the first guy. After he heard my issue, he said the "only way" was to buy an adapter to make it work. How ridiculous! He didn't even give me the option of return! I had to insist the return and called in again the other day, ask another representitive for the return label.
Finally I returned the item and got my money back, but the earlier $25 refund never came, which I don't care anymore.
People at onsale.com made one mistake after a mistake. I will never ever do business with them although I am still supposed to have $25 store credit. This review was modified by its author, beef1218, on

Was a little worried due to the bad comments I saw but with the price on a Gateway PC Bundle I couldnt refuse. Called by phone to place order and at first they were out of stock, I called back a couple days later as the representative suggested and they had just got a shipment in. I placed order and received within 2 days! They also had a tracking number to track when shipment would arrive. Everything works great plus I have called 3-4 times with questions regarding my rebate and have had great luck with the customer service! I didn't have to give my email address either. Would def recommend!

Advertised very low price for a Tomtom GPS and then cancelled the order after weeks without calling or e-mailing me about it and still charged my credit card for it. Horrible service, and now I get spam all the time from them.

I had the same experience as the reviewers before me, I made two separate orders for two different Tom Tom models that were priced temptingly low, I got confirmation emails for both but only one order showed up. I called customer services, the first guy hung up on me, the second guy explained that they had canceled my order because it was out of stock (they didn’t email me to tell me this, I had to call in).
My second order was listed as “pending” for a week and a half, and then it showed up as canceled. Again, they didn’t bother to email me to tell me that my order had been canceled.
Since I placed my orders (none of which they intended to fulfill) I have been bombarded with spam from onsale.com, I can’t help but suspecting that the whole point of pricing these items so low was to get our information (credit cards and all), so that they could use it for future spamming and scamming.
Buyer beware, do not buy from onsale.com!

I stumbled upon a sale on a TomTom GPS unit. It was a very low price, but had an accompanying explanation about an instant rebate. I jumped and ordered it and also ordered a netbook since I had been looking for one and it was a comparable price to other retailers. The order for both products were marked as shipped both with same tracking number. When order arrived, no GPS unit...it still said pending on website with the tracking number that was listed as delivered. I called and asked and they said they would not fill the order, that the price was a mistake. They stonewalled me and I never got a call back from the manager who I left a message for. Awful business.

I purchased a few Tom Tom GPS units which were to be in stock at a crazy low price as it was advertised as a daily special. The order was placed while the item showed in stock. I never received any email claiming that I wouldn't be getting my GPS units as they are now disontinued. I talked to Brett in Customer Service at OnSale.com and he explained to me that their inventory on this item was based on what a distributor had in stock and that distributor offers the stock to more than one website. for example, the distributor has 1000 gps units available for $79 dollars each. OnSale lists in their inventory that they have 1000 in stock and ready to ship, what they don't tell you is that 3 other websites that aren't owned by OnSale have the same inventory. So out of the 1000 orders, they can only fulfill 300 or so. This is bad business in every sense of the word. While Brett was pleasant to deal with, OnSale.com will not be getting any more of my business. Some of these etailers are so big that they don't care who they piss off. I will stick to dealing with Amazon and Newegg for my electronic purchases. OnSale has a very flawed inventory management system and a very upset customer.

Fool me once, shame on you-fool me twice, shame on me. I've placed two orders, both for items shown in stock, both "cancelled" without email or any notice whatsoever given. I had to email them 5 days later for status and was told at that time the order was cancelled.
NEVER AGAIN!!!

Terrible website and company. Item was sold on website despite not having physical stock in their inventory. No response from the company regarding status of order. Had to call in myself to find out the status only to find out that they canceled it when the website displays "Pending". This company has very little responsibility in their selling practices.

I ordered a USB flash drive late Thursday, and it showed up Saturday (less than 48 hours later)! (I wasn't expecting it for another week, since it was USPS mail to Maine.)
I hadn't ordered with onSale before, but they had the best price around, so I figured I'd give them a shot. And I'm glad I did, with that quick turnaround!
