"I ordered an expensive ($1700+) laptop computer, stressing that it had to be delivered to me in California by a specific date so my son could take it to college in Massachusetts. When it had not been shipped by the day before I needed it, I emphatically canceled my order. They delivered it anyway, so that I had to pay $60 to ship it to Massachusetts. When my son opened it, it was the wrong computer -- a lesser model, selling for hundreds of dollars less. Since OEL would not take the machine back unless I paid all of the shipping costs, despite their self-admitted "gross neglect in regard to your order," I filed a contest of charges with my credit-card company as well as claims with New York State and City consumer-affair authorities. (My investigation of OEL showed that it is operated out of a house in the Flatbush area of Brooklyn that is owned by the proprietor's father.)
After months of hassling -- during which OEL at one point told me "Why do you continue to E-mail us with E-mails that will get you noplace? You are simply wasting yours and our time. You obviously don't like what we have to say, so just give it up" -- the credit-card company ruled in my favor. Even then OEL wanted me to pay all shipping costs, although after considerable more hassling they agreed to pay the UPS charges and reimburse me for the shipping charges I had already incurred. The deal we made, in writing, was that OEL would credit $100 to my credit-card account before I shipped the machine back to them, and a further $40 after they inspected it to be sure they received everything they had sent me. But five weeks after they received the machine they had still not reimbursed the further $40, and apparently had not even inspected the computer yet -- telling me in an email sent 2-1/2 weeks after receiving the machine, "We do not have time to inspect returns all day everyday. When we have the chance that is when it will get done." This is typical of the high-handed and supercilious attitude OEL has taken since day one, and I frankly doubt they will ever reimburse the $40 they owe me, despite their written agreement to do so. It appears that I have no recourse except to press my claims with the consumer-affair authorities.
My advice: If you have the bad luck to order anything from this company, be sure to get everything in writing. and be sure to charge it on a major credit card that will stand behind you when problems arise. "
"I agree: DON'T ORDER FROM THIS STORE. They NEVER answer the phone. They do not return calls. I ordered two TV converter boxes and after three weeks I tried to get a hold of them. I finally got through to someone on the Live Chat, but that was very slow. The coverters are STILL on backorder. So, I cancelled my order and even though they took my govt $40 cards, they said they didn't "charge" them yet, so that I can use them. We'll see."
"What a good company to deal with. I have bought a few things from them and I cannot give them enough praise! I have bought several printers and a shredder from them which all worked out perfectly. I would certainly go back to them them. They take my orders over the phone nicely with no sales pitch to buy anything else (maybe a mention of a usb cable to go along with printer, I don't remember) and they had my order shipped the same or next day. I had my order delivered to my house within a few days. All in all a good place to shop."
"Company is a FRAUD and a SCAM. Ordered 2 TV convertor boxes with government coupons. They charged my account, never sent the merchandise or returned any of the multiple (20+ calls) I made and emails. On Sept 18th I was credited for the payment I made them even though I never asked for one. It's obvious they are advertising items they didn't have to cash the government coupons, which for us are too late to use. I would NEVER , EVER BUY from this company again.

“Coupons from customer were expired, and we are not allowed to accept them once they expire.”
"12/24/08: I will NEVER order from them again! I ordered an item to be delivered as a Christmas gift for someone. On their website, it said the item was in stock & usually ships within 24 hours. They didn't ship the item until 9 days later (3 days before Christmas). I contacted customer service twice, concerned about the delay, and they told me not to worry - they're behind schedule, but are upgrading the delivery of all packages to make sure they're all delivered before Christmas. I checked FedEx tracking, and the package won't be delivered until Dec. 30! I contacted customer service again, and they told me they decided to ship it by FedEx Ground because of the weight (14 lbs). And all they could say was, "We are a small company and have been overwhelmed... we are being stretched to the max here."
I never heard of this company before, but decided to take a risk & order from them because their website says they're CNET certified. Big mistake on my part! VERY FRUSTRATED & DISAPPOINTED!!!
1/6/09 Update: My nephew received his Christmas gift (Wii Fit) on Dec. 30. However, OEL packaged it in a used printer box, padded by used Priority Mail boxes with people's names & addresses still on the boxes - how ghetto is that! Yes, indeed they are a small company - they can't even afford to use new boxes with real packaging material!
After my bad experience with OEL, I contacted CNET.com, and it turns out OEL is illegally using the CNET certified log - CNET has sent a Cease & Desist to OEL! BUYER BEWARE!!!"

"They had the RCA Converter box! need I say more??? It was on backorder for about 10 days when I placed the order. But the date rolled around and they shipped! They only shipped in a plastic mailer, but the box came ok, awsome!!!"
"This was a great place to shop. I got my order in just 2 days. They shipped with fedex ground and the service was good. It was sent with signature required which made me feel safe since it was an expensive printer."
"I ordered 2 Zenith Converter boxes. The order was shipped that same day and I had the boxes at my house in NJ the very next day! WOW! I would buy from them again."
"Just a pleasure to deal with. I spoke with Philip on the phone who took my order. He was very friendly and easy to deal with. I didn't feel like I was talking to some "calling center" with yes mam = no mam. Just a friendly person who took my order "with a smile" - just a pleasent experience. I would shop with them again. Ask for Philip he is the best. "
"I ordered 2 Insignia converter boxes with my dtv coupons, they were on backorder at the time, but no rush needed (conversion isn't until sometime in June). I got the boxes today, 3+ weeks later, they are open, but I knew that too going into this the website says, just scroll down in the product details (should have been higher). I tested both boxes and they both seem to be working. All in all, everything worked out well, so maybe I look into buying from them again in the future."
