"Do not touch this company.

I put in a order for a Canon charger. then they contacted me that the part wont be available for the next 8 weeks, and suggested I buy a "Mercury" off brand charger for an additional $20.00. and this "after" charging my pay-pal account.

they are located at 367 Avenue U
Brooklyn, NY 11223, though their website claims that they are in NY,NY.

A COMPANY THAT WAS BUILT ON FRAUD. BEWARE!!"

Our apologies you feel so harsh towards us. This began from a recommendation made due to a backordered item. The suggestion was for a charger that had more features than the one ordered.

We are permitted to make recommendations if a product is unavailable. In fact, it is because of these recommendations our Customers love us. We receive numerous calls from Customers thanking us for this. We also receive many favorable reviews, some of which are posted here.

The Paypal transmission of funds is not a charge initiated by us. It is a payment made by the consumer upon checkout. When a Customer cancels an order, as you did, the funds are refunded minutes later and an email is sent from us and from Paypal.

We are NOT located at 367 Avenue U, this is an old address. Please do proper research before posting incorrect information to avoid others from charging YOU with fraud.

If the charger you originally ordered returns to stock, we will contact you through this thread and offer free shipping.

"Ordered a Nikon SB600 flash this weekend; Got message on Monday; Called back and talked to Sal, he claimed the item is "out of stock", and Nikon will ship 3-4 weeks. So he tried to sell me a 3rd party flash instead; I rejected and told him I can wait; The order was later cancelled - MAKE YOUR OWN JUDGEMENT "

"I am so gullible! They offer a Sony flash at a good price, and then after ordering, I'm notified that it is unavailable, but they can give me a "great" price on a Vivitar flash, even stating that it is "better" than the Sony. Well, after receiving it, not only does it NOT do what the salesman claimed, but I paid twice as much for it than anyone else has it on line. After complaining, they send me a rechargable battery set. Wow, that really made up for everything. I am so dumb...but I learned a lesson...and I will never fall for that again, nor will I ever shop with NWV Direct or recommend them again."

"scam artists they take your order stating it is in stock for shipping i call 8 days later and 2 e-mails later to find out the order(incomplete )is in front of them then they move to sell you another item to replace the one not in stock for more money BAIT & SWITCH the original is 60 days back ordered and the couticy upgrade is 10.00 more than the original item you ordered SCAM..."

"Probably should have checked reseller ratings before purchasing, because this sounds like a broken record now. Bought a Canon wide screen lens (about $15 cheaper than elsewhere) and received a call a day later telling me it was out of stock for 6 weeks but they could sell me a much better (and coincidentally, more expensive) no-name lens.

Thankfully I told the rep I'd think about it, did some google searches, and quickly called back to cancel the order.

The one good thing I can say is they didn't give me any trouble re canceling (though I'll certainly be monitoring my CC statements to make sure). "

Watch out with this one!!!

I received my order (invoice # 113522A Cust # 33060 ref # 128670)

I wanted to return the Sigma flash unit (#009159101) I originally ordered the
Canon 430EX # 0298B002 but was call that evening (at home) and told it was not in stock and the contact person told me I should get the sigma. They said it's a much better flash unit. Being new to all this I trusted him... wrong thing to do. I am not happy with the sigma Quality and also thought I was told it was going to be the Super version but received the ST version (no digital display etc).

I wanted to return this unit and get the Canon 430EX that I originally ordered instead.

I even told them I would pay a restocking fee if needed.

Here is the reply:

I then asked them why on their main page and even the box right next to the flash did it say a 21 day satisfaction guarantee ? They said that I should have read the fine print.

Their web page is very misleading so you better watch out.

All I wanted was to get the flash that I originally ordered but was conned into getting the sigma and now they won't take it back.

I hope this helps someone avoid a problem,

(edited) I guess they didn't like what I said... I only thought they said I was going to get the Super Version. This was because when I went back to their web site and looked up the sigma flash for $199.00 it was the super version. I should have looked at the product number which shows the ST version. My mistake. If I wanted the ST version It's a lot cheaper at other places... $139.95 at Amazon... Like I said before... be carefull.

I've contacted the BBB about NVW and advised them of the situation. Like I told them, Just make things right and I'll be happy. None of this get me to order because of pricing just to call me and have me switch my order because you say it's not in stock....

After receiving a call back, NWV apologized for my dissatisfaction and agreed to refund my full purchase price. They also told me they were going to be changing their policy regarding back-ordered parts and not have their CS reps try to "push" other brands to the purchaser unless asked. (This is what I understand from our conversion)

I am glad that they made this decision and am sure this will be better for them and the consumer.

Do to NWV's change of attitude in this situation I am going to change my rating of this company."

"Some things previously mentioned... bought a Nikon flash at a heavily discounted price, and sure enough, I received an e-mail telling me that they could not contact my phone (sitting right next to me all morning), and that the flas I ordered would be backordered 4-6 weeks, and I might like a Vivitar they currently had in stock for $100 more.

Obviously, I canceled the order, and now await my refund. Good thing I paid via PayPal, as I am not sure my money will be coming back from them any time soon.

I'd steer clear of this company and their business practices."

"DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS COMPANY. THEY ARE A BAIT & SWITCH OUTFIT. THEY SHOW A LOW PRICE THEN CALL YOU BACK & TELL YOU THE LENS IS BACKORDERED & WON'T BE AVAILABLE FOR 4-5 MONTHS. BUT THEY HAVE A SIMILAR LENS YOU NEVER HEARD OF. THEY ARE BAD NEWS!!!!!!!!"

"BEAWARE! GOOGLE COMPANY NAME BEFORE BUYING! I wish I did! ABSOLUTE SCAM!! A very rude lady called me the next day saying that the item was on "backorder" and would take 8-12 weeks to come in. (from research this is what they do to everyone). I asked for a full refund and she put the phone down on me. I called back and the same thing. I'm now waiting 24 hours to see if I get my refund. If not I will call my credit card company along with dedicating my weekend adding to lengthy reviews online as well as reporting this company to google products/amazon and every goverment and BBB association I can to ensure this con does not continue. Please, google this company name!"

"These guys are just straight up lame! I was shopping for a canon 430ex - an external flash and they were advertising one for super cheap, so i decided to place an order. Of course, the next day they call me and say that they dont have that one, but that the sigma flash was rated the best for my camera and so on and so forth. I really wish i wouldnt have agreed, but I needed the flash right away for an assignment so i bought it for like 260$. Since Ive gotten the flash, i both realized that its not at all what i want and that i can buy the same thing for 100$ - i feel totally ripped off! I tried returning the flash, and of course, they dont take returns on flashes (the bait and switch ones is what i think they meant). and now, i cant even sell it for more than 100$ myself. These guys are a rip off - i cant believe i got baited for this. The flash that is being sold on their site also doesnt even have a model number, so you couldnt see that youre buying the cheap piece of shit version. GRRR! "
