"I've recently noticed Music123 is using false and misleading advertising to tempt shoppers to buy from them.
They claim to have a price guarantee and display a price comparison box on their site for this purpose.
What I've noticed is that the prices they compare to are always more expensive or equal to their price.
In addition they compare non similar products and claim they are cheaper.
This is misleading and is bad practice.
I wrote to them about this but never heard back. It just comes to show what desperate measures some retailers will make to make a sale. Lie!!!!!!
I would think twice before purchasing anything from music123.com.

"I thought everyone thinking of doing business with music123.com should hear my story before ordering anything from them.

I ordered from the music123.com website on February 1, 2012 a $1495 Kremona classical guitar listed as in stock and ready to ship. This was charged to my VISA when I placed the order. I received a confirming email from them, but not till February 6, saying the item had shipped. Four days go by and the UPS shipping status on the UPS website had not changed. When I checked with music123 several times by phone, their people could not explain what was going on. UPS indicated that they had received package information electronically and a label had been created, but did not have the item in their possession.

On Friday February 10, I told music123 by phone I would give them a couple more days but would cancel the order if they could not explain this shipping snafu, but they insisted the problem was with UPS.

I received an email from them on Sunday, February 12, saying “UPS had returned my order and that my VISA account had been credited.“ Funny, but where I am, UPS doesn't even run on Sunday. I responded to the email thanking them and assuring them this was my first and last order with music123.com. Then as a response, I guess through some employee of music123's idea of a joke, they had the nerve to send me an email with the subject line “ We Love Our Customers – Double Loyalty Points”, which I promptly trashed.

When I checked with my credit card company, the charge was never placed on my account until February 7 – nearly a week after placing my order and a day AFTER they say the guitar had shipped. What companies like this do you know of that would ship something to someone before they had paid for it? Today is February 14th and the last I checked, the refund posting to my credit card has still not been made by music123.com

Buy from someone else. I believe these folks flat lied to me. Why? Don't know. If I were one of their upper managers, I definitely would not tolerate these kinds of fishy lost sales and would find out what smarta$$ emailed me their loyalty points email. They need to know of the arrogant attitude their employees are projecting.

I know these folks are huge and don't give a damn about one customer out of zillions, but they should think about what happened to Circuit City and other such arrogant corporate entities that thought they were too big to fail. A lot of that same thinking rendered their big box store employees unemployed and hungry. I predict the same thing will eventually happen with these Big Guys if they stay the present course.

"Ordered a high end Martin acoustic guitar at 15% off on a "Rockin' Santa Sale". Due to cold weather at the time, they agreed to ship free UPS 2 Day Air. I received my Martin as expected and on time. Guitar had a couple "issues" that need some luthier attention. Debated on keeping or returning the guitar. Music123 emailed me a return UPS shipping label, no hassle, and understood my concerns. I couldn't bring myself to send this beautiful guitar back, but it needed a couple issues squared away. Nearest Martin repair center is an hour and a half away... I called Music123 for the next day and explained that it was killing me to have to send this beautiful guitar back, but it needed a little love from a Martin authorized service center to make it perfect as it should be. I asked for an additional 5% discount. The customer service rep was very understanding and courteous. She put me on hold, came back and agreed that they would give me an additional 5% off and to keep the receipt for any repair work. That if repairs ran more than that, then to call them back and see what they could do for me.
I give Music123 HIGH MARKS! They went above and beyond and it was a very pleasant experience.
I wanted to write this review because people who are angry tend to complain but folks who are pleased usually go about their merry way. Not this guy. I owe Music123 a review from a happy customer!"

"I placed an order w/ Music123.com this month. The item was listed, backordered til 9-9-11, on 9-9, received an email that the item was backordered til 9-11...on 9-12, til 9-15, on 9-15 delivery scheduled for 9-20-11. No order received by 9-22-11, so called the phone # listed. The item was on backorder until March 2012. I do not recommend dealing w/ this company. I wasted so much time on a item dealing w/ them. I will NEVER! order anything else from them. What a waste of time."

"Ordered a 8-switch Power Center from them via eBay on August 14, 2011 only to find them having canceled my order August 15th. This wouldn't have been so bad if they would have done the process properly and actually provided either a reason why it was canceled and how to remedy or an immediate refund, but in this case neither was provided.

It took 5 separate support tickets to finally get an answer as to why the order was canceled (despite being set up to sell on eBay, apparently the billing address provided for me during paypal checkout was 'insufficient'). It took contacting yet another customer service agent and threatening to file a charge reversal before they finally issued a refund.

On the note of their customer service, it was easily one of the worst I have ever dealt with. Their policy seems to be to simply quote a line of text from the FAQ on the website then mark the ticket as 'solved' regardless of whether or not the quoted information even related to the question being asked.

In summation although their eBay feedback is seemingly overwhelmingly positive, when things do go wrong with ordering from this company it quickly becomes a nightmare. Avoid if any alternatives are available."

ResellerRatings.com TOP REVIEWER!

"I ordered a light stand and it was packaged so poorly that the plastic brackets were broken and rendered the stand unusable. I called them up as soon as i received it and in short, they shipped a new replacement and said to discard the broken one. This was due to poor packaging, you could hear everything banging around in the box as it was delivered. I placed a seperate order a week later, and thankfully the dj laser light wasn't broken, but with such a fragile item you would think they would add a little more packing material. Someone needs to speak with whoever is in shipping and have them do a better job. The CSR was nice and shipping times were good though. "
