"On 9/24/12 I ordered 2 mower blades from MowtownUSA and gave
a description of blades I needed. The wrong blades were sent.
I tried to resolve the situation with the rude people at
Motown. Finally had to report them to Paypal. Paypal said
I will get a refund of only the cost of blades. The 2 ,way
shipping is nearly as much as the blades. I can't believe
a business can be so rude and unresponsive and stay in business.
I wish I had only read these other complaints before doing
business with Mowtownusa. Please avoid them like the plague."

"I ordered a mower cable, their part number matched the part number in my manual. I received an incorrect cable that I could not use. I emailed the company and received poor responses stating it is an exact OEM replacement. The emails never gave me a name of the person(s) responding to contact and tried to sell me a different cable, no refund or exchange on my incorrect cable. Then they quit responding to me altogether. I am left with a wrong cable. I order the same part number with another company and received the correct cable. You should avoid this place."

"Placed an order back in February for some replacement parts for a Ryobi planer. Only got half the order. I keep sending emails to find out where the rest of the order is with no response. When I call all I get is voicemail and when I go to leave a message it's full. Avoid these people. They are unresponsive once they have your money."

"Purchased and "paid" for several items. The items arrived but they neglected to ship (1) pc. of an item I had purchased. The item in question showed as quantity of 2 on the invoice and only 1 pc. on their packing list and pick ticket.
Have emailed numerous times and never received a response. Called and no one answers the phone. The only good thing is that the part they didn’t send was only $3.00.
FIRST AND LAST PURCHASE FROM MOWTOWNUSA/MOWTOWN INC.

"Said item was in stock when in fact it wasn't. Now I won't be able to get the item in time to get the rebate that was part of my reason for buying in the first place. After asking to cancel my order, customer "service" stopped responding. Beware."

"I ordered a Husqvarna trimmer through mowtownusa.com before I read the reviews on this webpage, otherwise I would not have ordered through them. On the plus, I ordered the trimmer and it showed up in only a few days. The minus, it was the wrong trimmer. I did extensive research on trimmers and finally settled on one particular model that mowtownusa said they had. When I finally received the trimmer, I immediately noticed it was the wrong model. Fortunately, the model they sent me was my second choice and instead of going through the horrible customer service others have had to experience plus shipping it back, I decided to just keep the trimmer they sent. I would seriously consider a different store when ordering online and not take a gamble through mowtownusa."

"My WORST online buying experience was with mowtown. Following the order there was an almost complete lack of communication from them. It's almost 3 weeks after my order my parts aren't shipped. They didn't respond to multiple emails. AND they flat-out bald-faced lied to me on the phone when I called them. Completely horrible.

I ordered 2 parts for my garden tiller - a starter and a trivial trim piece. The trivial trim piece was backordered. I fully understand holding the order until all the parts are available BUT they should send an email in case I would like to cancel or change the order (e.g. - send me the part I need and skip the little trim piece). This sould be automatic.

But, if it isn't automatic, then they should answer their email. I sent them THREE emails asking about the order. They couldn't be bothered to respond to any of them.

So, I finaly called them - somewhat defeating one of the points of online ordering. They explained the backorder situation. I told them to cancel the trim piece and send the starter which I needed to make the tiller work. The customer 'service' representative said - exact words - "that will ship out today."

Now... over a week later... still hasn't shipped. Who knows if it ever will with these folks.

Had the planets all aligned, had mowtown had in stock the parts they advertised as having in stock, had I ordered something else, had I called every day to babysit my order... it might have gone smoothly. So what? Any order - ANY ORDER - should go smooth in ideal circumstances. Some reviewers seem to have gotten their parts in due course. Again, so what? One shouldn't bank on the assumption that everything will always go completely smooth - especially with mowtown. The question about a company's quality is what happens when something is not ideal. (I won't say, 'when something goes wrong' because dealing with a backordered part isn't really up to the level of going wrong.) Obviously, mowtown is utterly incapable of dealing with anything less than a perfectly ideal situation. Completely incompetent and unreliable. There are plenty of places to order parts; I urge you to choose a merchant - ANY merchant - OTHER THAN mowtown."

"Horrible experience! Placed an order on a Sunday 4/1/12 through Amazon.com paid with credit card. They cancel my order on Monday 4/2/12 because they say they advertised the wrong price. I had already bought the same item from them in the past at the price I was used to paying. They say I have to pay the new price which was 8 times higher than what I paid for before and 8 times higher than what I paid on Sunday. These guys don't even honor their own mistakes. False advertising. Customer service was non existent. Rude on the phone spoke with someone with the name Nikia. I do not recommend this company to anyone. Outdoor store has way better prices and no problems either. They sell on amazon also. BEWARE!"

"I ordered an electric mower thru Amazon on 2/29/12 and tried many times to contact 'mowtownusa' to check on the status. They never bothered to respond. Finally had enough after a week of not hearing anything and filed a complaint with Amazon. I love Amazon. Within a few hours Amazon had cancelled the order and refunded my money. Don't really know what the problem is at 'mowtownusa,' but will NEVER do business with them again and would warn anybody to do likewise. They have NO customer service and seem to thrive on arrogance. Well, they missed out on a coupla hundred bucks business, but maybe their business is so good they don't care? Weird. And Americans bitch and complain about Indian and Mexican call centers and jobs going overseas? 'Mowtownusa' is one reason why."

"Do not order from Mowtown. We have still not received a credit for an item that was on backorder. Ordered in May, credit card charged even though item on backorder, cancelled in July, promised a check in September - nothing. "

"These people are the worst. I ordered a few small accessories for a Ridgid Lathe. The site said shipping time was 3-4 days. 10 days later I started sending emails. After 6 emails with no response I started trying to call. Finally got through 2 days later after leaving 4 or 5 messages. Took them a long time to find the order. When they did they said "Oh. That order WENT out today". A couple of hours later I get an order confirmation email from them identical to the one I got 2 weeks prior. A few hours after that I got an email that I assumed was the tracking information I specified.
After 2 days and no shipment I open the "tracking email" and found the email said they had priced one of the items incorrectly and I needed to send them $42 more or they wouldn't ship my order. I called them and they said my choices were pay the additional money or cancel the order. NEVER once said they were sorry, or that it was their mistake, nothing. I told them I was going to talk to Paypal and see if they could do anything about it. Two minutes after hanging up the phone with them I hear an email hit. It was them refunding my money. When I spoke to Paypal they said they couldn't do anything since they had already refunded my money.
They people are totally inept, and when they screw up, they treat you like you are the one causing the problem.
I will NEVER even consider doing business with MOWTOWNUSA.com ever again."

"I just ordered a replace jackshaft for my tractor mower. I had ordered one previously from another vendor and then realized I needed another one and somehow my order came from Mowtownusa. The first one was at my door in 5 days. Mowtownusa didn't even SHIP mine until a full week had passed. Absolutey horrible. Never will I use them again. I'm pretty much done with all the vendors used by Amazon. Amazon sucks and so does mowtownusa."

"This company couldn't care less about their customers. The website says 3-5 business days shipping. I ordered a Husqvarna Lawnmower and a matching Husqvarna trimmer. Over $500 worth of stuff. Even though the website says 3-5 business days 3 days later my order still hadn't left the where house. I was able to get a hold of a guy named Chris who was extremely rude and acted like I was bothering him. They finally got my order shipped out 5 business days later. I received the order a week and a half after ordering it and it was only the lawn mower. I opened the packing label and it had " Trimmer is back ordered" hand written on it. So I called back and spoke with a lady who was helpful who said " The weed eater was shipped out with the original order but for some reason it didn't make it to you, I'll ship another" A.) Why would it have back ordered on the shipping list if it shipped out? B.) How did she find another one if it was "back ordered? " So now here it is almost 2 weeks after I placed my original order and I am waiting on my trimmer after spending over $500. I'm deathly afraid to see how they treat a customer ordering a $5 replacement part. The price is great but who cares if this is the type of service you can expect. It would have been worth the extra $150 + tax to go to Lowe's and pick it up. There was never an I'm sorry, or any other offered apology, simply an It's taken care of now. what a terrible way to look at customer service. When you try to explain yourself they all interrupt you and tell you "The longer you delay me the longer this is going to take""

"Expect several days after ordering before your item is setup for shipping. If there is ANY problem with your order, they will hit you with a restocking fee and they will not refund shipping of any kind. Much better to do business with someone who treats you like they want your business."
