" I ordered a 3-pack of stylus for my HP Jornada 720 handheld computer from eXpansys (also known as MobilePlanet.com) to use as spares in case I lost my original. When they arrived the problem was immediately apparent.

The styli I received were over an inch shorter than my original stylus , and too small in diameter to fit in the stylus bay of my Jornada without falling out. My original stylus has a pocket clip that served to lock the stylus to the computer, but the Mobile Planet styli had simple nubs instead of a clip and were completely non-functional either as a pocket clip or to lock the stylus in the stylus bay on the computer. In fact, comparing the styli I received to the pictures on Mobile Planet’s webpage, they were completely different. And yet the sticker on the simple plastic bag the styli were packaged in read “eXpansys Jornada 720 Stylus Pack’.

So I got an RMA# from eXpansys and returned the styli for a refund. Since the problem was all theirs either in mislabeling or misrepresenting their product, I requested a refund of my return shipping as well. After waiting 30 days for them to “inspect” my return I received a refund for the original order amount, but not my return shipping. Looks like I’ll have to contact my credit card company and see if I can start a dispute. Luckily I did screen captures of eXpansys’s webpage showing the styli I ordered, and took some digital pictures of what I received, hopefully these will expedite getting a refund"

"My wife purchased an iPod after being led to believe it would "connect" to our car cd player. Yes, it will connect, but only if you rewire the car.

OK. We got the iPod and tried to return it. MP said it couldn't be returned because of "Apple's policy." Buried in the MP web site (which, by the way, is not compliant with federal ADA guidelines, as my visually-impared wife discovered) is a list of dozens of companies that "won't allow" returns without that company's permission.

We called Apple and they said they didn't know what MP was talking about, and they weren't about to start writing letters to distributors authorizing third party customers to return merchandise.

Called MP back and after a long discussion of the unreasonableness of this return party ("but, sir, that's just our policy") customer service agent Jose allowed that "sometimes" they make exceptions. We''ll see."

"I had purchased a Htc touch dual from mobile planet end of dec 07. After couple of weeks the charger port was not working properly. I called Mobile planet they said to return the phone to bloomington,IL, I did in feb 08. I was told by mobile planet that it would take 6 weeks to reapair. After 8 weeks no answer, i called them up and customer service returns amanda mailed me back saying it is on the way back after repair. After a week I was told the charging port was damaged by user and need to pay$90 for repairs. I filed with credit card to return my payment because the phone was defective. After 4 more weeks I called returns for status on phone, I was told it was scraped by htc because I did not make the payment in a timely maner. How can they scrap a phone which I payed for? I was so mad the returs manager logan chandle is a very rude man he had no regrets in damaging my phone. I asked who is top of you, he said he is the ultimate and could not do anything. This is big frad company I will defend my case in the court of law. I had one yr warranty on this phone and they have no rights to destroy my precious phone. They could not replace the phone which i bought for hard earned money. Watch this site people!!! they are fraud."

"Looking over the reviews, I guess I was fortunate. I'd been looking for an iGo power adapter to replace some of the many power supplies I've accumulated, and found MobilePlanet in a pricing search. They advertised the previous year's model, but at a price about 25% lower than I had seen elsewhere. I ordered it and some tips.

Then, of course, I looked here and was a little worried (yep, I know, not the right order to do things). However, I received a shipping notification later the same day, and the package arrived in 3 days. They actually shipped the current model instead of last year's, too.

Really good pricing and great service for this order.

"Mobile Planet is sluggish with backorders, and they don't reply to emails.

I ordered a hard drive from them a month ago, and it STILL hasn't arrived! The item needed to be backordered, and their site said it would take 9 days to ship. After 9 days, it still said 'item is out of stock and awaiting shipment'.

So I emailed them to see what was going on. No reply. Then I called their customer service line, and the guy told me it would take 4 to 6 weeks. For THEM to get it! That would've been nice to know at the time of my order. He also said he would have the backorders department send me an email with an ETA. It's been a week, and I haven't received that email. I emailed them again, to try to push things along. Again, no reply.

Two unreplied emails in a month, and a broken promise from customer service. Customer service at its worst!"

"I have bought several items from this company for my pocketpc.
The prices have always been lower than other on-line sites and have never had a problem with things being on backorder.

When I call them to discuss whether an item is truly in stock, they are polite and honest (which is rare on the web these days).

My products ALWAYS arrive as promised. It would be nice if they e-mailed you a tracking number, but I usually call and they are happy to provide it to me.

I purchase a number of things off the web and I have to say that they are very consistent.

They will continue to get my business as a result and I highly recommend them!

"I placed a order online for GPS system. I realized I order the wrong model. I called the sales phone number immediately only number that is listed that works, after holding for 10 minutes I was assured order was canceled and email was to be sent confirming. E-mail never recieved. Called again next day and still not recieved. still waiting for e-mail to cancel item . Invoice did come through now showing 2 ordered instead of original 1. I hope they truly do not ship or bill. I would avoid this site. Very difficult to change or cancel or reach people. Last call took 4 attempts with wait time to 30 minutes. Still Frustrated and waiting for cancelation notice. "

"Ordered a product that their site said was "in stock" three weeks later it had not even been processed and an "order id" assigned to it. When I called, I was told that it was "out of stock" and they didn't know when it would be stocked. I was forced to cancel my order.

Additionally, their web designers are incapable of supporting multiple browsers efficiently. They seem to be stuck doing IE-specific development."
