"I have been a customer of Midwest for over 10 years. My recent transition to all grain bad me order 3 kits in the beginning of June. I waited patiently.for one week and no email. I waited the second and no communication. I finally called and they assured me they were busy and would send asap. Continued to wait and after 4 more calls and 3 emails my orders is not complete after a month. When they tried to overnight to rectify they sent only grains and no hops or yeast! I'm still waiting for my third kit and this company has lost a loyal customer."
"Not a great experience. 1. I ordered by overnight delivery. They did not send it by overnight. 2. They did not initially resolve the problem adequately - When I contacted them two days after the order they only offered to either cancel the order (how you do that while the package is in transit, I have no idea) or take off the shipping charges. I really needed the equipment that day, but I still could use the order, so I had them refund the shipping charge and let it be delivered - and went out in town to get the bare minimum of what I needed, which was an extra cost of my time and money.3. The order came a week after the order went in for overnight delivery, with half the order on back order. Seriously. Why they did't mention this in the two or three times we talked, or when I ordered it as I was talking online with a rep at the time, I have no idea.4. The item that did come, a week late, was the wrong item. They sent a Nitrogen regulator instead of a CO2 regulator. I mean really, the number of people who order N equipment compared to CO2 equipment has to be miniscule. And how many different things can you do wrong on one order? They pretty much hit them all.Finally they agreed to do what they should have done in the first place, which was to send another shipment by overnight. I have done $900 of dollars of retail business with this company the last 15 months, and they basically wrote me off. They should have sent another package immediately by overnight when first contacted. I would not recommend anyone to use this company. "
"You never know when they will ship. I broke a carboy on friday. Ordered a new one monday morn and was told it would ship and I would have it by friday. Well its thursday and I have called two days in a row and they said it would get done. I have yet to receive email conformation or a phone call letting me know it got handled. Would not have been a big deal if it were not for all the broken promises. Customer service not good. Product and pricing are. Hesitant for future business."

"When I started Wine-making I did a lot of shopping around, compared their price to at least 10 other online stores and my local Home Brew Shop. Their prices were the lowest. Packaging seems to always leave something to be desired. Always something broken, missing or leaking due to poor packaging. They have made right on the issues with me but it does get tiresome."

"I've been using Midwest for about 3 years now and I love them. The selection of equipment and ingredients is expansive, the prices competitive and the customer service outstanding. On one occasion I called because a bag of priming sugar broke in shipment and they overnighted a new one out to me at no charge. There is a homebrew store up the road from me, yet I continue to order through Midwest because the selection is better, the reviews and descriptions better and even prices are better including the shipping."
