"Absolutley terrible!!!! This is a front of a store, getting junk and defective merchandise from companies warehouses. Extremely poor costumer service, expensive to ship back to California (depending). Even if merchandise is defective they do not give you a return slip. After I called to complain about cost, I was told I could have gotten return slip - nice! I was told only 3 people work at the costumer service area and Chris is the supervisor and does not report to anyone- he is the highest person to speak with. BIG SCAM- BEWARE!!!!!!!"
"linins n things is a trap! I placed and order April 12th. On April 17th order status was "pending".I wrote them a message asking what happened. They informed it was out of stock and asked me if I wanted to cancel.I sent a message informing that I was canceling the order. Today I received e-mail informing they had shipped the order. I had already bought the itens from another store. They knew the order was cancelled and, despite this, they shipped. I have sent e-mails and no one answers. I tried to phone them, but no one is never available. I dont agree in paying to return the merchandises, cause I warned them that due to the delay I was cancelling. They created the problem, selling itens out of stock an not warning costumers. They also sent itens of a cancelled order."
"I received a gift card for Christmas in 2008. Linens-N-Things did not honor this gift card. It cheated 42 Million Dollars from consumers via gift cards. Linen-N-Things have reopened with the same name; however, it still does not honor these cards even though on the bottom of these cards it states: Gift Card value never expires. If they do not honor these cards, they will most likely not honor future cards. I am unsure of the Order date, probably December 2008?? It will not allow me to put in that date. Therefore, will enter December 2013."
"Terrible customer service and order turnaround.Placed my order on 3/31. On 4/2 I followed up on their website using the contact form as there was no change in status or shipment (item supposedly in stock, should have already shipped). No response. So on 4/4 I now have to call them to followup (order still shows as pending) but I have to wait until their phone lines open up on the west coast (a nationwide company, with timezone specific calling hours? Really?). And even then I am not overly optimistic as it sounds like getting a hold of a real person is almost impossible and it can take 48 hours to get back to you. How is this a sustainable business model? It's no wonder they went bankrupt previously...."
"They make no effort to cancel an order even if you call an hour later.I contacted them at 4:15 pm but they shipped it out the next day at 6 pm and they refused to cancel it the the 25 hours in between. They don't answer the phone after 4 PM EST."
"I wish I had read this site before ordering. :( WORST experience ever. LNT charged my bank account 3 times for one order. When I called to talk to someone, they never answer the phone, hardly ever do call backs, and have awful customer service. I will never order from them again. Ever."
"If you like doing business with a reputable and reliable company steer clear of Linens N Things. I placed an order on 1/16 at 7:12 PM. Having changed my mind about the merchandise, I emailed them to cancel the order within three hours of it having been placed. I received a response that said a cancellation request ticket had been placed with their shipping warehouse and I could expect a response within 24 business hours - However, they cannot guarantee cancellations. On 1/17 at 6:10 PM – less than 24 hours after the order was placed - I received an email that said my order had shipped. I replied, telling them that no effort was made to cancel the order, and I don’t believe that the merchandise had already been shipped. A total of 6 emails later, I received the tracking information. It listed the departure scan time as 1/17 at 10:23 PM. UPS had not received the billing information until 1/17 at 6:49 PM. There was absolutely not reason that this order could not have been stopped – aside from poor and tacky business practices on the part of Linens N Things.I strongly recommend you spend your hard earned money elsewhere. "
"Do Not Buy For Linen's 'n Things! They do not have the internal resources to handle your purchase. I placed an order online for over $200 and after one week and several phone calls, I still do not know where my purchase is. I know it still hasn't shipped but the money came out of my account several days ago. The most frustrating thing about the whole process is that you have to leave a message and wait for a minimum of 24 hours to get a call from Linens 'n Things customer service rep. I made several calls over a two day period and never heard back from a Linens 'n Things rep until I filled out a request for a call on the Linens 'n Things website. Please think twice before you make a purchase through this company. It's worth it to pay a little more to buy from a legitimate merchant. Linens 'n Things apparently filed for bankruptcy and somehow is still doing business on a shoe string without enough employees to handle calls."
"Do not order from this company. I asked to cancel an order within a few hours of placing it. It had not been processed at the time. I sent an e-mail to customer service. I received an e-mail 2 days later saying that it had already shipped! Now they are saying that it will take 30 days to get a full refund even though I refused it at the door and have been in constant contact with them. This is the worse company service I have ever had. DO NOT SHOP HERE."
"LNT's customer service stinks! They sent me an e-mail saying my order had shipped, but without any tracking information. They didn't even respond to my next two e-mail requests for information. They finally replied to my third request and the tracking information clearly shows the order did not actually ship until 3 days after they said it had. I'll never order from them again."
"The item was delivered within a few days. The product was as described. There was more than one choice for this set which I did not realize. I thought I ordered what was describe on the site, but actually ordered a smaller set. I wish the main product description was more clear."
"According to LNT's website, the item I ordered was/is "IN STOCK" and deliverable within 10 business days, which might be true if you mean in stock somewhere in Asia. It took exactly 24 days for this ottoman to arrive, via UPS Freight. The box it came in could only be described as nasty. The UPS driver said he wouldn't bring it into the house, because it was just too dirty. So, we manhandled the 5' x 5' box into the garage. After removing the packing, I found that the legs are not attached (lie # 2 - ad says “No Assembly Required”)...no big deal...just screw the legs into place, right? Well, that would work if the threaded nuts weren't missing. Looks like some Vietnamese factory worker forgot to install them. BTW, the enclosed paperwork says "This furniture was crafted in the USA" which is another lie, as there are several "Made in Vietnam" labels on the ottoman itself. Now I'm going to have to get hassled by the lame LNT service techs to make this right. They do not respond to emails or online inquires, and when you call on the phone, they say to leave a message, which is never responded to. Last time I'll be ordering anything online from LNT!!!One final note/complaint…it is apparently LNT’s policy to charge your credit card with the full purchase price as soon as the order is placed, which probably means that you will have been billed by your credit card company (and paid the bill…to avoid interests fees) long before the item is delivered. So now, I have no recourse but to hope that LNT does the right thing and fixes this problem for me, as the charge can no longer be disputed.Edit...LNT's also does not post negative reviews on their site. Only good-news and happy customers get a voice."
"People avoid this company at any cost. This company is far the worst in terms of CS and Shipping. My order for Bed In Bag was placed on July 10 and as of today has not been shipped. Called few times no answer. Emailed them 2 days ago but still yet to get response LNT. How can it be possible that company still in business after such a bad services.Just warning to people, do not place your order with company. Pay extra $ somewhere else and will get better service. Do not fall for the low prices and that is why I am still waiting for my order."
"I REEEAALLLLYYYY wish I had read reviews before I placed an order with this company. NEVER AGAIN. I ordered a Bed-in-a-bag FIFTEEN days ago and have still not received it. After several calls to customer service and at least 5 emails, it finally appears to be in transit according to fedex (shipped yesterday... 2 weeks later). Throughout this process, LNT customer service has ignored me, lied to me, and tried to blame me and fedex for their errors. And just to be clear... never at any time was this item backordered, out of stock, etc. It was just NEVER shipped to me. They first tried to tell me my initial order had been shipped but was lost in transit. But a quick call to fedex and I find out that no such order ever existed and they were still waiting for LNT to submit to them the item. The other two times, they just straight up admitted they never reshipped my order as promised but just never knew nor cared why.To give just the tiniest sample of the BS - in my most recent email I said according to the tracking number u provided xxx, this order has STILL not shipped, please ensure this ships immediately as promised. What did I get in response? "Sorry you are having trouble. Kindly try tracking it again and you will see it did ship as we mentioned. Tracking number yyy. Let me know if you are still having issues." So "MY issue" apparently, is that THE TRACKING NUMBER THEY GAVE ME WAS WRONG!!! BUT rather than acknowledging they had given me an incorrect tracking number - which they can clearly see in the previous correspondence I attached in the email - they patronizingly blame ME and just include the correct number mid-patronizing-sentence. Its ASTOUNDING!Oh, and they did tell me that their customers matter so much to them that they issued me a 5% refund as an apology. Thats about $6. Thanks for the crumbs LNT but all I really want is THE BEDDING I PAID FOR.Seriously... run."
"The curtains they sent me were a completely different shade than what was advertized on their website: one pair was almost two shades darker, and another was advertized as gold, and the actual item was dark brown color. Now to send them back I have to pay shipping. Their customer service is very rude. It was their mistake, yet it's costing me to ship the order back. Beware. I suggest you shop with many of their competitors who cover ship-back charges if they make a mistake."
